Am I the only one getting annoyed by these ignorant comments and reactions? You guys do know what “fantasy” means, right? But damn, it’s giving ignorance & stupidity at the same time; like, do you expect the actors to do magic or fly for real? And also to not take credit that those actors do their own stunts and practice martial arts to play their roles as authentic as possible if you actually watch actual videos behind the scenes or watch even just an episode and not just TikTok clips, you can see that some places are real historical places. Some are green-screen because some shots are just not humanly possible to make, like floating on a cloud or flying from one mountain to another; seriously, guys, it’s just common sense. These dramas and movies are often based on their country/cultures’ myths, legends and folktales, like the Greek mythology and legends of the Greek Gods and Goddesses Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, or Aphrodite… it’s the same concept. In many Asian cultures, they also have their own mythology of Gods and Goddesses or how the world came to be. It’s a great camping story to tell kids or a great bedtime story. There’s also the “historical” part, like before modern times. Historical times of Chinese, Japanese Korean and other Asian countries are called Dynasty. And yeah, gender roles were more prominent and strict back then; take note! BACK THEN… men were generally the workers and warriors while women stayed home, educated, and cared for the children and the home. That is why men are regarded as more important than women because there were a lot of territorial wars back then. Usually, it’s the men who will lead and protect the people. I am not saying it’s right because women can do anything and deserve recognition and respect as men. We, as women, should have the same human rights and privileges as men, but that is just how it was BACK THEN, and that is what the movies and dramas are trying to portray because they want to be as historically correct as possible based on their country and culture’s history, myth, and legends.
