    Deni has always caught my eye and it was last season when I truly started to follow him. Love how he plays at a good pace and gets his team involved. I hope he can grow even more as a player and help Washington even. I honestly wished they had traded kuz. I swear when Deni is the ball handler in the offense they play better lol.

    He is a fighter, those 43 points without forcing himself on attack were wild. Put him in the Warriors and you will have a contender!

    Great stuff. But I see deni different than you. I know him from Israel and for many of us it's very clear that he will be an all star. A lot better than kuzma or Derek white. Give him the keys to the team and you'll have an all star. A franchise player. You saw 43 points and 15 boards in one game that you let him lead the team. Keep doing this. And you'll have a player in all star level. Something between Jalen brown to Luca doncic

      I’d be down for him to become this. Would be fun to wayxh

      His percentages make you think he can really do that. If you really give him an allstar treatment (i.e allow him to take even more shots and give him easier roles on defense to not get tired) he will easily shatter his current career high again.

      Calling Deni "Jalen brown" is an insult to deni.

    Great content. Awesome mustache.
    Worth mentioning that in the 40 mins he was on court the wizards were +14 while in the 8 mins he was on the bench they were -21. His +/- is in most of the games much higher then his teammates.

    5:32 "He doesn't excel" when it comes to his defense?! I thought he was one of the best defenders in the league.

    • @catanace1741
      @catanace1741 5 месяцев назад +7

      I think that while his defensive game is good (definitely when comparing him to the other Wizards), it was perhaps better in his previous three seasons.
      The reason for that is pretty clear - when Beal, Kuzma and Porzingis, or Beal, Westbrook and Hachimura were on the team, Deni hardly ever got to touch the ball on offense. He would just stand in the corner, and hope that one of these guys would pass him the ball so he can shoot a 3, which they didn't for the most part. In that situation he could save all his energy for the defensive tasks that were assigned to him.
      This season his usage went up significantly, and he's not only shooting 3s but also driving the ball a lot, which requires a lot of energy. Now he needs to split his energy between the defensive and offensive tasks, which means that he can't always go all in on defense like he did before.
      Now, I don't think there's anything wrong with this. Even players who are much bigger stars then Deni have to divide their effort, which is why players like Luka and Jokić aren't known for their amazing defensive skills. By the way, this is also why MJ was so special - he could lock down the best player on the other team all game long, and still be super dominant on the offensive side.

      @@catanace1741 Makes sense, however excelling is a comparison to other players and not his past self,right? Also, he kept his steals/48 blk/48 stats from last season, and still guards the opposing team's stars most of the time. Stating he doesn't excel (which is always in relation to other players) is probably wrong. “Start to finish, he played a great game, and he did it on both ends of the floor,” Williamson said. - I'm not going to argue with a guy who played with him, but if anyone can show me stats showing he's not top 10% in the league when it comes to defense, I can change my mind.

    • @thesplitcut
      @thesplitcut  5 месяцев назад +7

      No he’s a great defender I just meant that there isn’t a specific one trait he excels at but he’s good to great at all aspects of defense

      @@yoniker83
      Top 10% in the league is a high bar. It essentially means that not only is he the best defensive player for the Wizards, he would also be the best defensive player on most NBA teams.
      I would want to see him play on a team that plays good defense before I can get behind this. In the Wizards you'd sometimes see Deni playing strong defense only to have the other team get an easy bucket because Poole forgot he's suppose to also be guarding someone.

    • @yoniker83
      @yoniker83 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@catanace1741 I totally agree. And you’re smart. People look only at Poole’s horrible offense stats, but he’s even more of a liability when it comes to defense.
