A correction: GOT7 is an independent group! They left JYPE together and bought all of their rights in 2021 in pursuit of more artistic freedom. They are now signed to different labels as solo artists while remaining independent as a group. They self-fund, plan and produce their comebacks together. They released an album along with this song called Winter Heptagon with each of the songs being co-written and produced by each of the members. I've followed GOT7 for a while. I've especially enjoyed following Jackson Wangs solo journey. He is an astounding performer, creator, and business entrepreneur. BAM BAM's solo performances are great. They all left JYP and are independent. I'm happy to see them performing together.
The group's name is pronounced "got" "seven." Great analysis of the song's meaning. One correction: GOT7 is the group famously known as having been the first K-pop group to separate from their parent company, with all of their copyright and royalty ownerships given back to them as part of the deal. JYP no longer represents this group. They're independent and in partnership with KaKao Entertainment on this album release. Everyone who knows this group's history confidently says that GOT7 would've been more significant than BTS if JYPE hadn't mistreated them before the much-needed contract separation. So, now the seven guys are breaking records...in acting, producing, songwriting, international concert tours, etc...on their own. What a great start to 2025. After listening to this track I have to agree with you. I read up on their history today and wow! I now understand the hiatus and they may have fallen behind BTS, but this release will put them back on the map!
Admittedly, I didn't know they had released this mv this morning. So, I went and watched their mv first. Loved it! I mentioned them in one of my comments on another of your reactions, specifically saying that you should put Jackson Wang's solo mvs on your list to check out. Oh, and BamBam's Last Parade too. Oh man Got 7 has been one of my favorite groups. They were around the same time as BTS and they are really good friends with BTS members too. They have accomplished so much and could have made it on top if JYPentertainment would have taken advantages of the opportunities put forth for Got 7. Like.. limited album sells, missing out on variety shows, they are big internationally but did nothing with it, some has modeling and acting opportunities but company said no, they promoted their album more than the company. So when they left the company they took all the rights for Got7 and now their careers are amazing.
they are a little different with other boybands I think. They are chill and mature, their songs with their special style, worth to watch more MV and dance practices of them.

The whole album really draws from each of the member's individuality and solo work, you can really hear their own colours in the songs while maintaining great cohesion. Got7 are ex-JYPE (yayy!) and one of the first and few to get all their rights to the name/fandom/subunits/socials etc from a big company. They were and are giants of the 3rd gen, one of the most popular groups globally at the time. They are now all independent and signed to and/or own their own companies, and work on their solo projects and then come together for got7. I really hope you get to check out more from them!

Some of them are acting some of them like Bambam who wrote this song and is originally from Thailand, have been putting out solo music. Jackson Wang (first guy who raps in English) is Chinese, he went back to China and started his own production company called Team Wang. The solo stuff he’s been putting out under his own label is ART. Please check out his music videos for Blow and Come Alive. On this new GOT7 ep most of the songs were written by Bambam, Jackson Wang, or another member, Jinyoung.
Yes! Love Got7! This is the original group for Jus2 that I’ve said you need to see. There’s so many good Got7 songs (and it’s got, just the word) If You Do, Hard Carry, You Calling My Name, Crash and Burn, Poison, Not By the Moon. There is another sub unit JJ Project (also amazing) as well as solo projects. Got 7 and BTS are my favorite groups, I’m so looking forward to you seeing more of them.
I agree. I just got into K-Pop and I love sharing the different groups to my friends. The reaction is always something like this. Why haven't I heard of them? I think K-Pop will become mainstream now.

But I've now listened to them both again (one on the left ear and one on the right ear 🤣) and I would put them on the same playlist for myself. The tempo, the bass, the melody... definitely not the same!!!!!! but suitable for me 🤗
