- Robert Glasper has made numerous traditional jazz recordings with his trio, but his latest album sees him widening his perspective to create a rich, full sound with deep grooves. We're joined by the Robert Glasper Experiment on Morning Becomes Eclectic. Watch / Listen to the full session here: www.kcrw.com/mu...
basically. that piano is so hypnotizing. then after it's done you play it again, to just realize how simple it is, then you play it again to listen how the whole song is basically made up of a repetition but for some reason doesn't get old...then you realize that repetition is all done in the spirit of Hip hop which is why the repetition doesn't get old...then you play it one time for your mind..and THEN Afro Blue lol
For those who don't know, This is the first track of their album "Black Radio" minus the main vocalist on this tune Shafiq Husayn. Casey Benjiman has more of a back round part with no words because Shafiq is talking on the original record. So now they're just playing it as track to enjoy. Super dope! Also check out the original record to hear it in context.
I’m still here on 2022! This music is a muthafucka! This song is like a warm hug
one of the most simple yet Inviting intros i've ever heard. Like when I heard it for the first time, the album was already a classic
That intro punched me in the stomach! Amazing talent!
That second snare is AMAZING!!!!
I listen to this every single day.
What an opening to one of my favorite albums of all time!
Casey really adds another dimension to the band. I dig this stuff. around 2:09 it gets dope
Around 0:00 it gets pretty dope
They're so perfect in every posible way
Have you ever seen them live? If you haven't please do
That intro always fascinates me.
That drummer is a beast
Marc Colenburg killing it, along with the slick smooth Casey Benjamin.
Omg...the talent!!!!
Excellent synth
this is the first song on the album, i listen to this about 10 times before i can go through the next song lol
wow I listen to this song alot my first time seeing it live definitely can wake up to this
I feel the fifth dimension on this sound. Great music!!!
Robert glasper really is a music genius his ability to really play the exact same tune on the piano is amazing 😩
One of my favorite intros
Damn. This is just.....good!
that second snare sounds so fucking good.
Very Herbie Hancock. If you've listened to Herbie's album Sunlight from the 70s, he uses the exact same sound... So awesome! Love "Smells Like Teen Spirit" too!
Beautifull 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
One of my favs !
you said it exactly right lol i even like the dude that be talkin.. ''ahhh yeaaah...'' lol and the weird dude is a beast with the vocoder.. best album in the last 10 years
That chord progression!😭🎹🔥🎶
Dear Robert
thank you !!!!! what a groove and great vibes within your band
Damn that's nice
RIP Casey Benjamin!🙏🏽❤️🕊️
I love that these guys are getting youtube time... well no surprise it's KCRW giving them the platform, but I'm grateful. What a great ablum...
Whoaaaaa...Robert Glasper never disappoints.
Saw these guys live in New Orleans and they were awesome! Great music!
too right, that last minute is exquisite.
@ 1:49....He felt that! This is whole tune....cooks! Super vibe....yo!
I saw the trio at Royce and they were amazing. Not to mention the were opening they were opening for the great Ron Carter.

Wuhh!!!!
wow.........................
Los escuché gracias a un programa de Netflix que habla respecto a la creatividad del cerebro humano y sin duda alguna ya tengo más de un mes de escucharlos son genios todos, grandes!!
My Lord
I dont know what to make of this. Not really my cup of tea. But i was intrigued the whole time!
Mark fuckin Colenberg oh my god!
he actually is on the same Level of Chris Dave in my opinion. they just have slightly different styles, but still fitting for the band. he's just not as "sonic" as Chris Dave's playing
D O P E
Crazy that nobody even knows who df this man group is, and theyre are the true musical genius, unlike people like Kanye and among other. the Blend of styles is tremendous. Thisis what should be headlining the Grammys.
Electrojazz smooth and edgy
how the fuck do you get that low drum sound. it's simply ART to achieve such perfect tuning.
Great Pumpkin Waltz at the beginning....? :)
Does anyone know what hi hats Mark is using in this video?
Same. can't say the same about his jacket though :)
what are the names of the other musicians , i think this would be just the minimum to put on the site/youtube whatever..
piano - glasper, drums - mark colenburg, bass - derrick hodge, keytar/vox - casey benjamin
Cheers
+Jason Holthouser these guys are the truth. Just think of ALL the other songs that didn't make the album.
Acho que das 16.420 visualizações, 420 foram minhas!
i agree. but this guy is cool too, he's just different.
this it right hre Fa Reel
saw them live at royce hall. couldn't stand that vocoder... but they are so good with their instruments. wish i woulda saw the trio instead.
drum is who?
Mark Colenburg. .best ever
can you say experimental
looks like a 17 or 18 hybrid crash to me
Why's he wearing sunglasses indoors lol
Because he’s cool.
only song that sounds good even on fl keys.. !
SHITT 1:33-1:37
I kinda agree. I fee that vocoder is cool but let your real voice talent shine through. Kinda like folks who always use auto tune. not taking away from their talent but mix it up MORE I say
👎🏻👇🏻 I liked the honest-sounding beautiful Piano jazz vibe beginning until you ruined it with the ghetto hip-hop-whatever synth effect. What a [Jazz bummer] letdown. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
There >IS< and Always Was such a thing as [good taste], Irregardless of what latter day folks try to propose to the contrary. 👎🏻
NOwhere near Chris Dave
