just my opinion, I think the fusion become more stronger depending on not only how strong they are, but also the kind of abilities they are capable of. both fusions potara and fusion dance after a few years and the new broly movie seem to have alot of changes since then, and seems the multiplier of fusion seems to change depending what kind of power the fusees have, or at least for saiyans the multiplier of the fusions change depending on the evolution super saiyan line (super saiyan blue, super saiyan 4 and legendary super saiyan dont count since they're all hybrid forms), like in the new broly movie, gogeta's base form briefly was able to dodge some of broly's blast and overwhelm him in his super saiyan form when broly's non full power super saiyan outclassed both ssb goku and vegeta, while in the fusion reborn film with goku having ssj3 and vegeta ssj2, it was stated that ssj gogeta was twice as powerful as super janemba, as ssj3 goku was able to hold his own before being overpowered. and in the super manga of the tournament of power, kefla's ssj form and mystic gohan were evenly matched because of kale's base form being maybe equal or stronger than ssj caulifla (in anime kefla beat goku because he was only tired and injured from fighting jiren and was stated that wasnt at full power, and was stated that power levels can decrease depending the injury and how exhausted they are) while in dbz base vegito was way stronger than mystic gohan and buuhan since vegeta and goku power levels were the same, and goku had ssj3 which couldve gave the fusion a bigger boost even with him and vegeta base forms being equal, while in the manga of super, caulifla only had just super saiyan, and kale had legendary super saiyan ( as we saw in the broly movie that the form is actually a hybrid form of the super saiyan alongside wrath state, a power of the great up form in base appearance, making them beserk, and x500 stronger than base if you put it together as great ape/wrath is a x10 boost and ssj is a x50 boost) as stated by vados that kefla in ssj was just as strong as lssj kale. and vegito was stated he was stronger that gogeta so I say about at least twice as strong as they were also stated to be equal trump cards. as both vegito and gogeta in super, their base form appears to be in between ssg and ssb and their ssj forms are much higher than ssb, and their ssb forms were stronger than beerus. so with goku and vegeta already having super saiyan god, their fusion's base forms are now above slightly above ssg but below ssb. so thats my theory
