Reaper has definitely been an incredible time saver when rendering samples for the creation of virtual instruments!

Yes! The batch processor is fantastic as well.

I can literally run 15-20 instances of acústica audio plugins through out my session at 96khz and still mix with crazy fx chains I love reaper!!!!

Thanks for this Jon! This seems so helpful for mastering all those alternate mixes. I would love to see a video one day on the process of taking a new song and creating sub mixes for them!

Mostly I'm just muting instruments to make reduced mixes. Would be a super boring video!

In less than a year you will be in Reaper completely. :-)
Just as I did. PT is long gone.
    Cool video, thank you!

Hia Jon, I mostly use Reaper to mix, master and more on video audio, it really is a time saver and very easy to use.

@@JonMeyer I have a suggestion, it is very genre specific, but I've never seen a piano roll editor as good has the one FL Studio has, if you haven't checked it give it a try.

Reaper is cheaper than most plugins depending on which license you get (both licenses have the same capabilities).
ReaRoute is fantastic. I use it for a range of reasons - I use it when making YT tutorial videos. The output from the master channel in my DAW (usually bitwig, sometimes Studio ONE or Ableton) goes dirctly into Reaper via it's ReaRoute virtual audio interface ASIO driver.
At the moment, Bitwig doesn't seem to like (performance and crashing issues) the driver for my Presonus audio interface, but thats okay, I just pipe it through reaper and it's fine.
Reaper is the swiss army knife of audio. I think Dave Hillowitz also incorporates Reaper for his instrument sampling virtual instrument production workflow.

i’m on cubase but used reaper for a number of years.
the “region”/render matrix is similar to how some cubasers use “cycle markers”. the render options let you batch render the cycle markers and apply the cycle marker names to the filenames rendered for the cycle markers/regions. it allows me to get a snack or play a round or two of call if duty.
i also like reapers very open format to its customization like assigning a keystroke to instantiating a specific plugin on selected tracks. cant do that in cubase. ☹️

Great stuff, Jon! As Michael said, I'm a one-man show so I've been just trying to learn Logic as far in-depth as I possibly can, in the hopes of streamlining my flow to the bare minimum. Please don't make me learn Reaper now! haha!
Salutations from wet, grey and still sorta weirdly not back to normal Ireland! ☘️☮️🤘🏽🤠👍🏽☮️☘️

Looks really cool. I'm still pretty much in the DAW learning stage so mastering is (at least for now) not much on my agenda. I use Ableton myself but I think all the automation and scripting should also be possible with Ableton via Max For Live.
