      I hear that many female athletes nowadays have been using this performance enhancing technique. Its very hard to shoot the ball when your opponent has all that mass on their side, since their oversized stomachs block all of your shots. The commissioner really needs to crack down on this problem before it gets too out of control.

It's completely implausible for sure, but if they set it up so that the earlier games would only last like 10 minutes or something short like that and then as you move down the bracket the games last longer it could be really cool. Plus it'd be hilarious to see some school from nowhere cheese their way to a top spot.

    • @MidwestMountainMan
      @MidwestMountainMan 5 месяцев назад +7

      You "only" need 12 rounds to have such a tournament so it's completely feasible to do it with full length games. It'd be a logistical nightmare, but since every team has a court they can host a game at, you could theoretically play all 8,191 games over the course of two months.

      1 in 2^4095
      As a decimal approximation, that's a 1.9x10^-1,233 of a percent chance of having the correct bracket, or about a 2 with 1,233 zeros between it and the decimal point. It's probability is very close to zero.
      An equivalent way of saying this is there are 2^4095 or about 5x10^1,232 possible outcomes, and one correct bracket.
      As a comparison, there are an estimated 10^80 total atoms in the entire universe.

    15 years later and people are all of the sudden talking about actually expending the field "because it would be so fun to see more teams get in." Yeah, but like do you actually think they have a chance at the natty? And if so, do you think that actually means they're the best team in the country? Imagine being a player for a team like UConn that has a great season but drops one game to Southwest Central Vermont University and now they can't win the championship.

      Yes, but at 1:14 the show says there will be a 637/678 matchup. This would not happen in a bracket with 1024 teams per quadrant.

    The attention to detail on these videos is exemplary. They spend the time and money to really see things through.
    For example: look at how the camera pulls back at 00:40 from the usual tournament bracket . . . to a bracket for 4096 teams.
    Brilliant . . .

    In a 4096-team tournament, a team would have to win 12 games in a row over 12 rounds to win it all.
