I had a similar experience with my first baby, she was 7 weeks early due to reduced movements. She’s now 4 months old and thriving! She was in NICU for three weeks which felt like such a long time but now seems so long ago. I’m praying for you both and your little boy 🙏🏽

I was born 7 weeks early, I had all kind of problems like asthma and everything with my twin and I had to stay in hospital for them next 7 weeks. I am now totally fine and healthy after all the steroids, special milk etc. I promise you that it will be okay❤️

Aw Erin - I came across your account when I was recovering from a c section and a placenta abruption with my boy Ernie! I’m so sorry you had to go through this , especially in your first pregnancy. Well wishes to you and your little boy , congrats to you both & thank you for speaking about this on your platform. I had no idea this existed until I went through it & unfortunately the hospital missed it too. There deffo needs to be more info out there on this subject as difficult as it is. Take things slow , a traumatic birth takes a long time to heal from. Congrats 🤍
Oh my heart. Thank you for sharing - the importance of knowing your baby movements is so crucial. Your intuitions have been life saving. Erin, we all love and adore you. My little boy came early, and we did a week in NICU/TCU. Nothing ever prepares you for the hard rollercoaster of not having your baby next to you on the first night. And even now i still beat myself up that our first cuddle was hours after he was born. But.. my little guy is 4 now. He's just started big school. He's learning to read and write. My worry initially was 'will I bond with him as well as a mum who got all the firsts at the right time. But the whole heartbreak we went through made me thank the lord and all the stars every single night that I have my little man. I have never appreciated our NHS more than I do now. Their rapid actions gave me my boy. Your firsts may look different together, but I can promise you they are 100000000 times more magical ❤ Little tiny dude, keep being strong. Keep amazing every dr and nurse and start life with your mummy and daddy ASAP ❤❤❤

I work in surgery. You’re not allowed to eat before any surgery but there are techniques we use to make sure anaesthetic is safe if you have eaten before, for an emergency case. I’m so glad you’re recovery well. It sounds traumatic but you were in the best hands and we are trained for all eventualities. Best wishes to your new little family now x

I recognise the hospital from Brandon's photo, the NICU there is amazing. I did my nicu placement there and worked on the paeds ward and the nurses was super lovely!! Congratulations guys ❤
I had a bad birth. I developed pre eclampsia. To cut a long story short my consultant was struck off after my delivery. I needed a blood transfusion. Tore badly inside & out & had a 70/30 chance of survival. I should have gone to theatre but... well, let's say it wasn't pleasant & all under gas & air. My midwife was incredible & I'm still friends with her today. 😊 Luckily, we are both here to tell the tale & I'm forever grateful for that. I cherish my daughter. My only one. ♥️ So Erin, I totally understand how you guys are feeling. Let all your emotions out, bottle nothing & don't talk to someone if you need to. May not be right now but few months down the line. Superwoman you are. ❤ Congrats on the birth of your wonderful little boy, both of you. Cherish him. A protector for life. Wishing you all well. 💙

I had my son 8 weeks early in June. We were in NICU for 4 weeks but fast forward 5 months & he’s such a happy healthy little boy. NICU days are so hard, long & feel like never ending. But keep strong & ask to learn how to do his feeds etc as it’ll help you feel more involved ❤ I remember every night we had to come home without him I sobbed for hours… you’ve got this guys xxx
Thank you for sharing this as it's very similar in some ways to mine. I was in hospital for 16 days ill and my daughter left without me plus I had an emergency c section for reduced movements. Please reach out to the hospital or GP as they can go over it with you or offer someone to talk too. I'm 2 years on and still struggle with what happened. It does make you stronger though going through something so traumatic.
You don’t need to explain yourselves to us! Baby boy is your priority,videos can wait, I’ve had two emergency births and both ended up in NICU, it’s so scary and nothing can prepare you for it and C-section recovery is hard in itself, take care of yourselves and keep strong! We all thinking of you and sending lots of support xx

I had reduced movements at 39 weeks and got induced and my son spent 5 days in the NICU and he was 9lbs 7oz. It was heartbreaking and terrifying seeing him in the incubator and being robbed of those first little moments I completely understand how hard and difficult this is but I’m so glad your son is doing well and your both well too. Your both so brave and I love watching you. Stay positive and that day will come when you get to take your little one home forever. Sending you both love 💙

The look on Erin’s face literally broke my heart, I have 2 boys my first being an emergency c section and my second being a planned section but whisked off to nicu as soon as he was born and I can sympathise with you to a certain extent! I had reduced movements for weeks and they kept pushing for me to be tested daily for 3 weeks (which should’ve been my due date) after 5 days I wasn’t happy a refused to leave they have me a sweep and luckily after the second try I then went into labour and when my son came out the reason why he had reduced movements was because my cord was wrapped round his neck! I was so glad I trusted my instincts. I really hope you get to have your son home soon

Thank you for sharing this as it's very similar in some ways to mine. I was in hospital for 16 days ill and my daughter left without me plus I had an emergency c section for reduced movements. Please reach out to the hospital or GP as they can go over it with you or offer someone to talk too. I'm 2 years on and still struggle with what happened. It does make you stronger though going through something so traumatic.

You don’t need to explain yourselves to us! Baby boy is your priority,videos can wait, I’ve had two emergency births and both ended up in NICU, it’s so scary and nothing can prepare you for it and C-section recovery is hard in itself, take care of yourselves and keep strong! We all thinking of you and sending lots of support xx

I had reduced movements at 39 weeks and got induced and my son spent 5 days in the NICU and he was 9lbs 7oz. It was heartbreaking and terrifying seeing him in the incubator and being robbed of those first little moments I completely understand how hard and difficult this is but I’m so glad your son is doing well and your both well too. Your both so brave and I love watching you. Stay positive and that day will come when you get to take your little one home forever. Sending you both love 💙

The look on Erin’s face literally broke my heart, I have 2 boys my first being an emergency c section and my second being a planned section but whisked off to nicu as soon as he was born and I can sympathise with you to a certain extent! Please look after each other as a couple and take it easy. You’s are both doing amazing and don’t rush to things to please other people! ♥️

My boy was born and had to go into nicu, we had to come home without him on NYE as the fireworks were going off, it’s horrible but you will get there with your boy! When you bring him home it will be the best thing ever! Sending you lots of hugs and love ❤

Thanks so much for being so brave and sharing this!! I had my baby during Covid! I had reduced movements for weeks and they kept pushing for me to be tested daily for 3 weeks (which should’ve been my due date) after 5 days I wasn’t happy a refused to leave they have me a sweep and luckily after the second try I then went into labour and when my son came out the reason why he had reduced movements was because my cord was wrapped round his neck! I was so glad I trusted my instincts. I really hope you get to have your son home soon
