    Have you taught about putting batteries in spare tire place? Spare tires are only added in AU. So for us in EU there is just an empty place.

    Have you considered hacking/controlling the battery heater in cold weather package equipped Leafs? I notice my efficiency goes from ~3.6 Mi/kWH to 4.3 Mi/kWH on the same route/speeds just because it's warmer out and the battery is warmer. Mine doesn't have the cold weather package, but I was thinking of just making a large heating blanket to put under the pack in winter, not sure if the efficiency benefits would end up net-positive or not yet. It seems from the back of the envelope math that this would give ~2-3 kWH more "range" if the battery was warmed to the same temp.

    I've been feeling unwell for about the same time, so be honest I didn't notice the lack of videos from any one channel.
    Good job on the data logger, I guess the long term plan is to make an app to listen to it also.

    Hi great job, getting a crashed 2016 leaf tomorrow( hopefully will be able to fix) , will you be shipping diy kits ? I’m in Ireland! If so do you have a price in mind ?

    • @PowerElectronicsBlog
      @PowerElectronicsBlog  5 лет назад +1

      No kits yet, until we're happy with the entire process and until we can be sure everything's safe and tested. Kits will likely be around the same price as the installed system - for the time being we prefer people coming to us to get their extender battery installed so we can control quality.

    I was wondering how much space is left in a box for 2013? Would it be posible to add more electronic in? Like 400DC to 230V AC converter that can be plugged into house(grounded)? Like about 1,5 to 2 KW?

    • @PowerElectronicsBlog
      @PowerElectronicsBlog  5 лет назад

      Yes, I currently have a candidate 3.6kVA inverter that will likely fit to the right of the battery box. I plan to test this in the summer, trying to cook and do garden work (electric mower, shredder, etc.) on the car's HV battery. I'm not sure how well it will hold up, it seems like it's not quite sufficiently cooled, but I'll see. Once we have something that works reliably and fits well, this will be an optional add-on for MUXSAN customers.

      @@PowerElectronicsBlog Any guess about a cost. And will it work with grounded lines like the one in house?

    • @PowerElectronicsBlog
      @PowerElectronicsBlog  5 лет назад

      @@gorazdnovsak3705 The inverter I'm looking at is about €400, it needs a casing and some other stuff, so it's not a super cheap option. It should work no problem with any electrical system. It's literally an island mode solar PV inverter modified for this application.

      @@PowerElectronicsBlog and that runs off traction battery? If it will be ready by the time I get up there put me down for one...

    • @PowerElectronicsBlog
      @PowerElectronicsBlog  5 лет назад

      @@gorazdnovsak3705 Yes, it runs off the traction battery. I'm not sure at all when it will be ready. The model I have doesn't run off 400VDC, but the supplier says they can modify this. When and what my MOQ will be is still unsure. In the meantime I am attempting to design a modified sine wave inverter myself as I don't require pure sine for my application. The timelines for both these devices are 'whenever I have spare time'.

      Yes, e.g. from a crashed 2018 Leaf or from a recall.

      @PowerElectronicsBlog  5 лет назад

      @@DeerKoden There's recalls for all kinds of stuff all the time, you never hear about them. There's a recall on some (very few) early 2018 Leaf packs, not sure why but there were a dozen or two at a recycling center I visited almost a year ago now for that reason.

      All pre-order customers will get one with their car. We're still discussing whether it'll be a premium option later on.
