    I have been saying this... longevity is our choice! If we want to sustain our health, we have to do something about it! This will start by knowing what supplies our body needs. Start by eating a balanced diet, quit vices, exercise regularly and take an NMN supplement. Mine is a 500mg per day, NMN by Vitruvin. I just knew all of this lifespan information through Dr. Sinclair's book. It says there's no point increasing lifespan without. The goal should be to live longer while staying young and healthy. Sinclair believes that in the foreseeable future, it's possible for humans to live beyond 120 or even 150, without the frailty, diseases and disability we now associate with old age. See your result and tell the same experience.

      All supplements have to go through stomach acid (some get denatured and don't work the way we want to at this point) and then the enzymatic reactions in the liver. This decreases the amount of active ingredients ingested. If you don't have a good supplement with high bio-availability this is even worse. With IV route the ingredients have passed the stomach and liver and are available for cells to use and a higher amount can be given.

    • @MotherSmuckers

NAD should be given based on the recommendation of a physician based on your medical history, laboratory evaluation, and physiologic needs. And based on that information your physician will give you a protocol and dosage. Ozone therapy is the same. These are molecules that are active and the first rule of medicine is to do no harm. Based on his/her experience your physician can tell you how successful they can be for your situation.

    I will start on Tru Niagen soon. I just ordered it. I suffer from Hashimoto disease, PCOS and Perimenopause. I don't get good sleep cuz I have anxiety and its 10x harder for me to lose weight cuz of my list above. I fast for 20 hours a day, low carb and some weeks I will fast for 48 to 72 hours and I still will only lose 2 to 3 pounds a week. I work out 30 mins a day and some days a hour in a half. I take Berberine, Vitamin D 20,000 K2 and Magnesiun along with my thyroid meds. I am barely getting some energy. It took me 3 months to get a routine to work out 5 days a week after getting my vitamin D levels up and a eating routine. I still strive for energy. When I get my NAD supplement what should I take to go with it over the counter to bridge NAD to my cells. I know with Vitamin D u must take K12 so your cells can absorb the Vitamin D. I heard u say Amino Acid but is there a pill? This is what is going to be in my NAD: NAD+ Booster Supplement More Efficient Than NMN - Nicotinamide Riboside for Cellular Energy Metabolism & Repair. Healthy Aging - 30ct/300mg (30 Servings)

      You can find all the supplements you need for NAD support along with the amino acids from this link:

      Vitamin D does not necessarily need anything else to get absorbed. We have been very successful increasing Vitamin D levels in our patients with our Micellized and Emulsified version of Vitamin D.

      As Functional Medicine physicians we run multiple physiologic tests (different than what your primary care doctor or endocrinologist do) to figure out the root cause of your problems. From your history it seems that you might have one, some or all of the following: hormonal imbalance, thyroid imbalance, inflammation or even autoimmune issue, digestive issue, liver congestion, metabolic syndrome, neurotransmitter imbalance. You will not be able to achieve a complete balance by increasing vitamin levels and NAD+. Your case needs a detailed evaluation and proper functional support.
      The supplements I have recommended above might help.

    Hello dr. I would like to know which are the side effects of NAD and which patients should avoid this treatment? Thank you so much

    • @BodyofHarmony
      @BodyofHarmony  Год назад

      Everyone receiving NAD+ should have a medical evaluation first.
      Here is some more info:
      I am not aware of any research that shows D-Ribose, NMN, NR, Niacin, or Nicotinamide cause cancer or any causation or correlation studies attributing NAD+ to causing or exacerbating cancer.
      There are theories hypothesizing that there might be a relative risk of exacerbating cancer based on the Glycolosis pathways
      NAD+ is responsible for more than 500 reactions in the body and the primary source of energy to the human body.
      On the other hand some of the reactions NAD+ is responsible in are in DNA repair enzymes potentially reducing the chance of cancer.
      NAD+, through the effects of PARP’s, may both suppress and progress tumorigenesis, this might be related to prevention of DNA mutations.
      NAD+ should not be used in breast cancer treatment or any cancer treatment which uses PARP inhibitors.
      Animal studies of wild type mice has failed to provide any evidence of increased tumor size or number. Interestingly, over expression off NMNAT3 raises mitochondria NAD+ and inhibits the growth of glioblastoma cells and supplementation with NA or NAM inhibits tumor growth and multi-organ metastasis in SCID mice.
      A phase 3 randomized trial of Nicotinamide for skin cancer chemo-prevention concluded Oral nicotinamide was safe and effective in reducing the rates of new non melanoma skin cancers and actinic keratoses in high-risk patients.
      If someone is undergoing cancer therapeutics they should stay away from all supplements unless they have been approved or prescribed by their hematologist / oncologist. For those with previous history or family history of cancers the same statement should be made regarding NAD+ boosters.
      Other studies involving FK866 to reduce the NAD+ did not show any tumor remission in patients with advanced solid tumors.
      Individuals with family history of cancers, previous history of cancer, suffering from cancers, or undergoing cancer therapeutics should not use NR, NMN, NAD+, D-RIbose, or any other supplements that may increase NAD+ without the approval of their hematologist or oncologist.

      From your comment it seems as if you are not going after one issue. NAD and Collagen do not affect the same pathways. Just because something is advertised or sounds good does not mean that you have to use it.
      I recommend consulting a Functional Medicine doctor around you so they can figure out exactly what your physiologic needs are.
      Also, remember some supplements affect the energy and mood and others like collagen have no obvious effect but more an internal effect.

      There are many "protocols" for AND+. The art of Functional Medicine / Personalized Medicine is finding where encouragement is needed in the body (physiology) and to support or augment those processes. Thus, a different "protocol" per person... medicine is never black or white, there are multiple shades of gray.
      Having said that the protocol you are referring to has been tried with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and addiction/cessation/withdrawal protocols for alcohol, pain meds, and some anti-depressants and Benzodiazepines. However, it is important to work with the physiology of each person and not a specific milligram dosage.
      Please keep us posted on your experience and progress with the NAD+ protocol.

      @BodyofHarmony  Год назад

      Theoretically once NAD+ is in the body the physiological and enzymatic reactions start and or are revved up. Vitamins, minerals, and amino acids are part of these reactions. So, when these ingredients are given around the time of NAD IV they are more readily available to be used.
      It is not a requirement as these ingredients are in the body already.
      If your physicians recommends, you can take the vitamins and minerals the morning of your NAD IV so that they are already in your blood stream as you get the IV.

      Metabolic reprogramming is required for both malignant transformation and tumor development, including invasion and metastasis. Melatonin (5-methoxy-N-acetyltryptamine)
      is a methoxyindole that is synthesized in the pineal gland. Importantly, melatonin has anticancer effects by stimulating apoptosis, regulation of survival signaling, suppression of metastasis and angiogenesis and regulation of epigenetic modifications that contribute to malignant transformation.
      Furthermore, melatonin affects steps associated with the Warburg phenotype and suppresses the switch from oxidative phosphorylation to aerobic glycolysis through the regulation of critical enzymes and glucose transporters. Melatonin is involved in regulation of p53 and HIF-1, directly participate in signaling cascades that modulate aerobic glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, the tricarboxylic acid cycle and the pentose phosphate pathway. A significant impact of melatonin in the modulation of metabolic cascades represent a unique opportunity to inhibit pathways metabolic reprogramming.
      Being that NAD is essential in mitochondrial metabolism, implementing melatonin in daily doses of up to 100mg per night taken 1-2 hours before sleep may counteract any negative effects of exogenous NAD+ in cancer patients. Of course more research is needed, but I suggest doing some research on melatonin and how powerful this molecule can be when it comes to cancer and overall health of the mitochondria in addition to its potent anti-inflammatory effects it has on the human body. Dr. Russel Reiter is a pioneer on this topic and some of his lectures can be found on RUclips. BTW, I've been in the health field as a clinical exercise physiologist for the last 27 years and have specialized training in integrative and functional medicine with a focus on the prevention of disease.

    I'm not someone that wishes to do an IV version of NAD but I do have the capsule supplement version from Research Labs. Would an alternative to this be to unleash a capsule in water and sip throughout the day or does it all get destroyed in the liver? I did try one capsule a week ago and I think I may have taken it to late in the day, my sleep was really bad that night and it was the only change I made to my daily regimen of supplements. So the idea of mixing it in water (if it's not horrible tasting) and sipping seems logical but just checking in with you about that idea. Thank you!

    • @BodyofHarmony
      @BodyofHarmony  Год назад

      This is a question for the manufacturer of that specific supplement. The question is have they made the capsule to be able to survive the stomach acidity or to dissolve in it and if the powder is stable in water.

      NAD should not be given in a Vitamin Drip facility. It should be prescribed by and administered under the supervision of a physician, given for a specific reason. Your physician will decide how much and how often it should be given, based on your symptoms and laboratory evaluation.

    Doc, thank you so much for the info here. If I am still Undiagnosed after 2.5 months (Jan 09th '22 sudden onset of dypsnea, the top of my inhalation is gone, granuloma under left arm,rapid pulse, no appetite-although helped by my supps, dizziness here and there, no temp regulation) With no answers, even from 1 of my functional med docs (I'm in NE FL) because we are, "waiting on labs" , this has been a huge struggle. Found NAD+ 100mg by LE. IF I get an NAD+ drip, would do you have data on it helping lungs/breathing? And should the vitamin formulation be made specific to me? IE: genova rec I need 500mcg cobalamin, 30mg niacin, etc. If you know a colleague in NE FL, I am willing!!! I just need help solving this!!! tysm

    • @BodyofHarmony
      @BodyofHarmony  2 года назад +2

      NAD+ works in a specific pathway. It will only improve your lungs and breathing if that pathway is affected. The amount of vitamins per Genova testing is a daily vitamin intake and not specific for IV. I tried to find you a colleague in NE FL but have not been successful yet.
      I believe by now you should have some diagnosis that you and your doctor are working around. Please keep us posted.

I am also taking an antihistamine to help. And on a low histamine diet (read dr jeneja's histamine intolerance book). This regimen just began today. • @BodyofHarmony

      Charles, we all feel ups and downs on a regular basis. These are based partly on our environment and experiences and diet, environmental exposures,... Our hormones play a role as well, the amount of Thyroid Hormone, Growth Hormone, Testosterone, DHEA, Estrogens, Progesterone, Cortisol, Serotonin, GABA, Dopamine,... all play a role as well and they fluctuate naturally.
      What I am trying to impress upon you is that it is really hard to stay at a given number every day. But, I understand your question. We have not seen or heard anyone saying they feel less energy than before NAD IV. My guess is physiologically speaking, the function of mitochondria does not decrease when your levels of NAD (after IV) drops. Your system should go back to what it was. But since there are no specific research on this part of physiology at the moment, we will have to wait for more information.

I've recently realized that Finasteride has made me very ill. I'm living with extreme anxiety, brain fog, depersonalization, and many other nasty side effects. I live a healthy lifestyle, workout 4-5 times a week, don't drink alcohol or consume hard drugs, take natural supplements and vitamins. If you could please reach out and reply to my comment I would greatly appreciate it, god bless and thank you.

The symptoms you have mentioned can be part of hormonal issues, brain physiology issues, mold toxicity, yeast over growth,... It is important to figure out exactly what is going on before one can tell if NAD+ might be beneficial in this situation.
