Original Song:
• Susanne Sundfør - 'lei... - Развлечения
The first time I heard Susanne sing was as a feature with the group M83 when they did the title song for the movie Oblivion. It’s a great song and her vocals are so powerful.
same for me, and I fell in love with her and her music 4ever
Gotta listen to her new Collaboration with Royksopp Oh Lover is a great song
Sameeee
Susanne Sundfor is a genius....that's it. Check out literally anything she's done, it's all great.
I love all her works, she’s amazing! This song is my newest favorite and Im obsessed. It lifts any morning
Thank you ❤🎉 .. Susanne Sundfør is a fantastic musician with a marvelous voice- not mainstream but very experimental 🤗❤️❤️❤️
I saw Susanne live a few years back. Quite an intimate acoustic gig. She is the best singer I have ever heard live by a MILE. By A MILE
Susanne Sundfor is a brilliant writer/singer who has been doing her thing for quite a while now. She's a superstar in Norway. I have several of her albums. Her music spans Norwegian language folksy all the way to darker English synth pop.
Another reminder for more Norwegian magic.. Kalandra.. pleeease ❤
Susanne Sundfør in collaboration with both M83 and Röyksopp is top shelf quality
So much talent coming from Norway.
Oh, i have to check out her new album 👍❤️ Love her White Foxes song 👍 Happy Birthday to all Norwegians on 17th of May 🇧🇻🎉🍾 Our National day 🇧🇻 Yeah, Love Aurora and Angelina, and now have to check out more from Susanne 👍
Nice reaction!
You are in for a treat.
'White Foxes' is my all time favourite song by Susanne, i think you would really enjoy it! 🖤🌟
I just followed your suggestion and second it - a wonderful ethereal song.
@@flamedealership it's magical. ☺️
That song is 🔥
An absolute joyful delight of a song.
Susanne Sundfør is a goddess of music. Maybe the best singer/songwriter, composer and producer of this beginning of 2000s.
can you imagine how it feels to be on a festival with 500 people attending and she is the headliner? this happened to me in 2012 at audunbakken festival. absolut fantastic.
Oh yes, I can imagine how it feels, she is wonderful.
Last year, I was planning to do a road trip in Northern Norway and I started to collect informations about locations, where to stop, how many days, .... Then, a few days later, Susanne announced that she 's gonna start a short tour in Norway, and there will be a venue in Tromsø. I immediately secured tickets for that show, though I haven't neither flight tickets nor hotels booked at that time.
So, basically, the route has been designed around that Susanne's concert and this was the icing on the cake of a truly magnificent trip.
@@volta008 that sounds absolute fantastic, and tromsø is so beautiful!
Suzanne Sundfør has the most beautiful album of the year!
No matter what your musical preferences is, creativity is what makes artists unike and outstanding.
This is creativity on a new lewell. Love this reaction to something strange and unike. And so intriguing
Clocked on to Susanne Sundfor when she released her Ten Love Songs and have been completely in her universe since. This song has become a big favourite of mine, its full of so much flowery soul and its also a ridiculous vocal orchestration with so many little details. Its incredible. Alyosha is also a superb track from this new album amongst other gems....
finally one of the few reactions to her fantastic music. the most intense song of her is "when the lord", a feature song for a documentary called "self portrait", about life and work of the norwegian fotographer lene marie fossen who suffered from anorexia from the early age of ten. she passed away short before the film premiered.
susanne is one of my absolute favourite musicians, so many good songs. my favourite is "when". its like a prayer, intense and sad.
she should get way more attention because she truly deserves it!
Margareth Olin directed that movie, as she did with 'Alyosha'. I chatted with both her and Susanne during the release.
@@norse-nilsbjasa cool! they did excellent work.
i think that when the lord is the song that had emotionally the biggest impact ever on me. i've literally listened to it a hundred times and it still hits me every time.
@@soleywolfgangsdottir Very true, hits me too. Adam Stroughan is an eager fan, as is Play It Again with Mike and Ginger
Very hard to chose a favorite, all of her songs are nothing less than excellent.
I even find it impossible to chose what versions of her songs are my favorite, between the studio versions (with creative vocals layerings, tailored orchestrations and synths) and the intimate versions with piano only.
Whatever she does is perfection.
According to my favorite streaming app, it appears that the songs I listen the most are Mountaineers (live at Barbican), Rome, It's all Gone Tomorrow and Day of the Titans (Take One).
@@volta008 absolute true. live at the barbican was an excellent concert. my fav songs are when, bedtime stories and the brothel live at cigalle
I'm so happy you reacted to Susanne Sundfør, she is one of our best artists here in the frigid fjords :D
I hope you will listen to more of her songs, she has such a wide catalogue (that unfortunately not many outside Scandinavia has heard) from her more somber and dark and intimate ones to others with a large sound and complex compositions to almost classical compositions :D
I know many will recommend you "When the lord", or "Undercover", but please listen to her other stuff as well like the live versions of Silicon veil (the official music video is a live recording) or "the Brothel" :)
ok wow another new one for me and I like it her voice is soothing and peaceful with kind of a little bit of Aurora sounds in it thanks for introducing me to this voice and I agree with you how can Norway have this much talent floating around whats in the water there man this was good and I totally got lost in the soundscape again thanks for the ride as always your ride or die forever EyyyyOoooo
Both Susanne and Jonna Lee are fantastic singer / songwriters in their own right but also respected for their collaborations with Norwegian group Royksopp...definitely worth a listen and appraisal
Beautiful reaction ♥♥♥
Enjoy - she has many other masterpieces as well👏👏👍
I’ve seen her in concert twice. Both very different from each other, so she’s very versatile. The first show was in a pretty gritty venue on the tour for the Ten Love Songs album, and it was a high energy synth heavy set, just an absolute party with people dancing and having a blast. The other show a few years later was set in a symphony orchestra concert hall with her playing piano mostly accompanied by acoustic instrumentation. Much more mellow, but also ethereal and magical. I’m honestly not even sure the setlists shared a single song. The only common thing was her spectacular voice. She’s an absolute gem of an artist.
This is what you want to hear in artists. You are lucky to hear such a range.
She is great. This is one of the latest ones, but she has a ton of good ones. The Brothel, and Undercover are among my favorites.
so well said
Susanne has done a lot of great stuff, but I'm totally hooked on her tribute to Scott Walker - The Amorous Humphrey Plugg.
I had a hunch you would like this Rosalie. Susanne is phenomenal to build up songs, moods, and have a great vocal range. The 'epilogue' sounds like the hardanger fiddles, a traditional Norwegian violin with 4 extra strings that resonate with the others.
The Aloysha music video you mentioned was directed by one of our best film directors Margareth Olin, and is from Susannes own wedding, very romantic.
it's so intimate, i almost felt like a voyeur being so close to all her family and friends.
@@soleywolfgangsdottir yes, you are right, some are people I've seen here i Haugesund.
@@norse-nilsbjasa has she moved back to norway from london? i guess so when i look at her social media
@@soleywolfgangsdottir I think she has yes, not sure where, my ex told me last night that her friend's son had had Susanne living at his while her place was getting refurbished (they are friends). I'll ask her where.
Just as good live 👍🏻
She is incredible.
This channel has become something of a fountain of music to me. Yes, there are some songs and videos that don't correspond to my personal taste but at an incredible rate I get to know artists and music I never heard of. This is one of them and it's right up my alley - chills and goosebumbs is all I can say to this. I added this song to my playlist and subscribed to Susannes channel to dive deeper into her work.
A shoutout to all the other riders and their suggestions! I feel a certain pride to be a small part of this group that has an impeccable taste and a host who built a platform like this. Thank you all.
Too cheesy? I don't care - this song put me in the mood for this and someone had to say it at least once...
You speak for many here I think. Cheesy? No!
And enjoy your dive into the rabbit hole of Susanne. This new album is her 7th, + there are 2 live albums and loads of live performances here on YT. Oh, and I have 5 playlist with Susanne that you can explore if you like.
@@norse-nilsbjasa Just saw that you've got a lot of interesting content on your playlists - and I will happily explore, thank you!
And btw, same goes vice versa - maybe you'll find something new and interesting as well...
not too cheesy at all!! makes me happy to read!! honored you're part of this community :)
@@flamedealership I will explore yours too! :)
Oh i think you are gonna love Sundfor - Mountaineers.
I want to thank the person that requested this song.
You're welcome @SinghROAR , if you would like more from Susanne I have several playlists of her, to explore, and lists of many more.
Susanne is gem, she’s my favorite female vocalist. Her voice is so beautiful and haunting.
this song brought me to tears! God approves it!
Sound of war- live from the Barbican!!!!! ❤
The sound of nature mixed with a sound of the perfection of the imperfect humanity. For in the surrender of striving for perfection in our lives and embracing who we are and what nature is there is a harmony that is beautiful.
The fiddle you heard was a Hardingfele also know as a Hardanger Fiddle. What makes it different from the classic violin is the artistic stylization of the body and the fact that it has seven to eight strings. Four of the strings are played and the others, situated under primaries, vibrate in resonance or in sympathy to said primaries, giving the tone a unique sound.
I only know this after having listened to the music of Norwegian folk musician, Annbjørg Lien who has played that instrument since early childhood. Annbjørg has performed as a member of Bukkene Bruse (translation: Billy Goats Gruff) and the String Sisters and you should check out her music.
To conclude, I was watching a RUclips video of the String Sisters : Live where after the first song, Annbjørg stated her belief that "World music is world language, no matter where we go."
As for her music, "Khoom Loy" is a good place to start.
Really enjoyed your reaction to this track, quite similar to myself! I’m a big Susanne fan and have heard this track many times now and have the album on repeat. She really is quite special ❤
If this doesn't cheer you up :) One of the most angelic and cleanest voices ever. You should check out "when the lord" or "the dance" Her runs in The Dance are INSANE. "UNDERCOVER" LIVE is great!.
Susanne has become one of my favorite artists. Her back catalog is incredible. Another beautiful song from her latest album is Alyosha - ruclips.net/video/FYLoNtbWWpk/видео.html. I bet you would enjoy it!
FINALLY!!! I was waiting for a reaction to this song, because it's so special IMO. Great and wonderful reaction, thank you so much for it❤
This song is a master piece 😊
So soothing.
Takk!
Thank you very much!!! :) takk! :)
@@rosalieelliottofficialNo, Thank you!
You’re reactions and how you reconstruct music, lyrics and The emotions as well as the technical work behind it. I simply 💯 love what you do. 😘🫶🏼🌎
You deserve more. Because of what you add!
oh my god i'm so so happy you've found this album... my favorite song is definitely "blómi", the lyrics really hit home for me... it's the perfect hopeful lullaby for a child to urge them to not lose their softness to a hard world and to embrace both sides of life, both light and dark.
beautifully said!!
Norway 🇳🇴 is strong with the music in school. Teach em early (quality education not test performance)
... Oh, Rosalie, again you introduced to me wonderful music, I had goosebumps listening... And, maybe most of all, I love your way of reacting, a really beautiful person comes always shining thru... Thank you & I wish you were living somewhere close to me to be able to spend some quality time with a true human being... Love from Crete... 🤗💞💪
Thank you very much, Cordula :) we would have so much fun. Good music, some coffee or tea maybe?
@@rosalieelliottofficial... Yeah, and some local raki Schnaps... 😘
@@rosalieelliottofficial add "fieh" to the list of fantastic norwegian music. fast food live is really great!
@@soleywolfgangsdottir Telephone girl too, and live @ Hamburger Küchensessions ! And Rosalie (Live at Palace Grill) !
@@norse-nilsbjasa excellent songs! i've discovered them through anothother reaction channel and totally hooked!
What the Hell is in the water in Norway ? How can such a small country have so many talented people ?
You could easily cover this Rosalie, it seems to me that all of the layers are in your range. Would love to hear it.
Susanne Sundfør is by many seen as 'the Mother' having plowed the way for a flood of talented Norwegian girls pursuing songwriting and making their way as artists, and some are doing extremely well, touring the world, sold out concerts. To name a few - Aurora, Sigrid, Dagny, Astrid S, Julie Bergan, Delara, Skaar, Emilie Nicolas, Girl in Red (who opend for Billie Eilish, now she's opening for Taylor Swift at her US concerts), Highasakite band, Ida Wroldsen, Iselin Solheim, there are many more.
exactly. eversince i've discovered her music in 2011 she amazes me.
I really wish she'd produce for Aurora.
Correcting myself - Girl in Red has opened for Billie Eilish at one consert, but opened for Taylor Swift in Chicago last night + will do so for 7 more conserts.
Aggie, Kari Rueslåtten, Bel Canto,Radka Toneff, Sidsel Endresen, Solveig Slettahjell, Kristin Bråthen Berg. Anne Grethe Preus. Some that paved Susanne S way🙏🏼🎤💯🌎
All studio mix sounds. !!!
you need to react to Inger Lise Hope with "Røst" by Sigvart Dagsland. One of Norways best wrighter and singer. You would not regret it.
Just subscribed to you last week and I can already tell this is going to be a beautiful relationship. Morning sunlight on my skin.❤
actor's poem
Since you are exploring the European path of music, here are two songs you might like, that from more-or-less from the same area. A genre you might have not explored before: Warduna with Aurora-"Helvegen" live. (red backdrop) Also, Heilung-"Anoana". New sub. BTW. :)
Danke Rosalie ❤
00:34 I won't guarantee this, but "Leikara ljóð" is from Old Norse. "LeikaraR" means actor/actress, but the word "Leika" means "to play" and ljód (hljóð) means "sound" or "noise". So the song title is closer to "Playful Sound" in actual meaning - and you can totally hear that 😊
Translate to Spanish means "last call".
Do more!
Oh, wow... let me tell you a true story reminded by the birdsong in the beginning
Some years ago, on a christmas eve we got a call that grandpa was very poorly after a stint in a too hot sauna. Eve he was dead, after I spent a dream evening with him in his bed chatting about everything and nothing, before I took him further north to Tuonela, becauae there was something "important" there.
(Tuonela is the acient Finnish realm of the dead"
Fast forward to some weeks later during his burial, in the middle of arctic january, the burial was somber but wholesome.
But the thing heard on the recording taken by my camera, were spring time birds singing . They sounded like the birds at the start of this music video.
Thanks for reminding me that I like Susanne Sundfør! She won me over so many years ago with "Richard, my little boy", so it's definitely time for me to check out what's happened since then!
Edit:
I misremembered, the song that first got me from Susanne Sundfør was, of course, "The Brothel"!
"Richard" was made by Maria Solheim, another Norwegian artist with lots of talent.
When the Lord: ruclips.net/video/1oWFCkcdmZI/видео.html By Suzanne, big topic, deep, yet so important, like nothing you never seen befor.
Like I'm glad she's happy now, but I like her moody smack you up side the head with interesting lyrical twists music ~:0
Heartwarming stuff, in this one she makes me think a little of Kate Bush meeting Kate & Anna McGarrigle, whilst still being identifiably Susanne. As you are possibly the first reactor to assess her talent, would you accept my suggestion of two of her other tracks - Mountaineers, and Slowly. To get a further idea of her range.
That was awesome. Please listen to A MANS WORLD cover ANGELina does LIVE!!! It’s SUPERB!!!!!! 🌟❤️
2:19 👍🥳❤
4:21 oh my gosh.. so beautyfull and talented arranged..
Nordic countries have native music in the blood...
Please react to the Norwegian band Mildfire with their music video Never Change :)
Another music antidote celebrating life
Or what happens when a singer who had lost his wife and brother in short sequence mourns the loss of both in album Mensch (Human)
and gets comfort and is celebrated and hugged by his audience with an unprecedented affection

Another way of saying good-bye to a beloved person who has just died.
By Jupiter Jones
ruclips.net/video/fgCOUO-s8nY/видео.html
A retrospect in love and deep longing. And a wonderful lyric text.
Since it was published it has become a song that is played as
An anthem of love and saying-goodbye and the memory of love at many funerals
And a wonderful way for family and friends to hug the one left behind.
😎💙👍
I would blindly follow this woman into a fire and she wouldn’t even have to ask me
Try her song "For the Lord" the video is hard to watch. You will need to have a box of tissues handy.
I won't say to much about it. It's about an artist that is well known in Norway. That suffered from anorexia. It's very moving. A great tribute & heartbreaking song.
So steriotypical to hear this fiddle But so cool🙌🏻
Sunshine beartooth or hated beartooth
