What I love is that on the outside, is it sounds amazing, but to write something like this requires a great understanding and knowledge of how music works. Amazing composition.
Simply fantastic song. So, so, so much better than the boring crowd pleasing covers he normally does. Would LOVE to hear much more original material and this guy is obviously an extremely talented and gifted song writer.

One of the few guitar players I see that keeps a constant body rhythm, not nearly as important as the music itself, but it never hurts to give a little performance rather than standing like a stone slab. Always liked the way he jams to his tunes, I would too if I could play that well.

The way that everybody is commenting on the beard, you'd think Gareth might rename this song "Chinese Whiskers".

those maton guitar sounds freakin' awsome. of course in the right hands.
I do agree, but still, that guy masters one of the most hard and underestimated technique on guitar : the one that allows to play a bass line, a chord sequence and a melody line at the same time. Some call that the Travis picking if I'm correct.
@JHMartinsen I don't know who you are to say such a thing - clearly he's doing very well no matter what kind of technique he's using.
@Lilmanro It's a maton guitar, a whole lot of fingerstyle guitarists use these
@Lilmanro I'm not too sure what brand it is but im pretty sure it's built with an orchestra of more guitars within the body casing :]
thinks it will make my fingers able* etc. Like you say I feel it sort of restricts fingermovement and/or makes many techniques harder to do. This is probably different from person to person, if they feel they benefit from anchoring their pinky or not. I'm guessing Tommy, Gareth and others who use it feel they do. There music certainly sounds great with and/or without it! Hope guestimation is relevant enough. Love this melodic tune btw Gareth! My favorite along with BoD so far. Must buy CD!
@winkeydo it may not look as though the pinky serves a purpose, but I know from personal experience that my pinky works as a stabilizer when strumming the strings.
