Contrats on an absolutely monster score! I don't think most understand just how brutal this game is, and you add elite level scoring on top of that and well...it's amazing to witness.
Had this game since early high school. Back then, I cursed myself on why I got such an 'unbeatable' game and keep going back to play it. Fast forward a couple years later and understanding the 'Daioujou', it was like an epiphany: You're going to die A LOT, so just enjoy it.
Not deliberate, but the score cost is so low that I usually don't bother resetting if I die on the first boss. (it costs 10 million from the clear bonus at the end of the first loop). On the other hand, you can sometimes use the extra meter to score a little better in 1-2, so it's not a total loss.
I might be going HAM on Ninja Gaiden this year, lol. Been meaning to go back to these games for a long time, and NG2 Black is the perfect starting point.
I dont know how i missed this release, but after seeing your video I immediately went and picked up a copy. Also saw that we got a Switch release of SaiDaiOuJou as well. Looks like I can finally retire my 360 version. Fantastic play through. Was actually kinda surprised you ate a death on Suzaku. Was that on purpose for score reasons? Planning any Ketsui playthroughs?
It was just a dumb death. It doesn't cost much score so I usually don't reset if that happens. For Ketsui, I'd like to do an Ura 2-ALL eventually, but it's just hard to block out the time for it these days.
Ketsui's great, but to put it simply, I just like absolutely everything about Daioujou more. Dodonpachi's chaining system is the most satisfying thing to get good at in probably all of gaming to me. The high cost of any mistake makes it feel even better when you connect everything. I haven't played Ketsui too seriously yet (just an omote 2-ALL), so I wouldn't be surprised if it grows on me more later on, but it's still just not going to top DOJ to me.
