The tragedy of Vector is that all his capabilities which are actually amazing in terms of home robotics are all there to enable important but basic behaviours - he can hear you, he can see you, he can move around without bumping into things (mostly). People think all "toy" robots can do this to some extent, but they can't, especially without a smartphone on and connected and doing most of the heavy processing. That this home robot TURNS TO FACE YOU when you speak to him is actually incredible. It doesn't seem incredible, it seems basic. But it isn't, it's an amazing achievement. Vector seems like a living thing that just doesn't do much. He's less of a cool app-enabled toy like Cozmo, and more like a boring pet that just eats, sleeps, and wanders around. He's not a robot rat, he's a robot guinea pig. But that he can seem alive at all IS AMAZING. Hello. I wanted to give an update. It was actually a problem with the app. Everytime I go hit the settings the App would crash. I have it on a ZTE. When I downloaded the app on my Kindle, I was able to go-to settings. There Vector sound was turned off. So it's all good now except for the cube is dead. I'm going to buy new batteries today and see if that's problem.
Thanks Brian, if I had not mentioned already, on my Galaxy note 8, everytime I tried to advance in the app, it would freeze and I would have to restart. #firstgenproblems
Yes I did. I also had a problem with a dead Cube. They're replacing it. I'm just waiting on it right now. Overall I would say without getting the new Cube I did have good communication with them.

I think what Jay was saying may be correct? Vector may not always do tasks with the cube, but rather identify the cubes existence. I too see that vector needs to be spoken to clearly, and with a pause after the command "Hey Vector".
