- Getting a biblical framework for the change of seasons is essential to discerning the times in which we live. WATCH today as Asher helps unwrap some of these basic truths:
• Truth is binary, paradoxical: night and day, male and female, good and evil, Lion and the Lamb.
• Revelation comes when we hold onto the two opposites and ask how they fit together, how to respond to these conflicting ideas and forces.
• Time is built into the creation; signs, appointed times, days, years (based on Genesis 1:14-15); there is standardized time (“chronos” in Greek, “zeman” in Hebrew) and then there is the discernment of times (“kairos” in Greek, “et” in Hebrew).
• In God’s government, the Sun and Moon govern the earth; solar calendar and lunar calendar; new moons, full moons in relationship to the Sun.
According to the biblical calendar we are now in a new season that started the first day of Nisan (Aviv). A shift has happened. Passover (Pesach) is coming up on the full moon. What happened on this day in Exodus 40:2? What is God doing to prepare us as His people?
God is the Master Architect. He is in control. He is never outnumbered. He has all the power. He is looking to build up His people, fill us with His Spirit and give us courage to stand strong in this day!
