If you have a few units out and a turret built quick enough then they won’t rush you. Do what he did, build a few grunts/marines to collect resources, build a raid/barracks and get some infantry out. Personally I only build one barracks if I do at all to prevent the early rush, I guess if you’re playing 3 AIs it’s necessary to get proper infantry but against one you can get away with just rushing out 10-15 basic units and putting up a turret. I say they won’t rush you, they might still try but they shouldn’t manage it if you have a small army built up. Just remember if your units are split up then gather them before you engage the enemy, and build a couple extra with your base locked down so you can pop them out all at the right moment.
I prefer to rush out a level 2 base and get a level 2 hero out, depending on who it is they can usually handle a raid solo or with simple base defenses. (Especially colony, Serenia, commander Jerome, and a few other commander's heroes.)
Ai just became better now than years ago, it’s really rare they won’t attack you until 9 minutes into the game like in this video, they normally tend to rush before they even scouted you, this strategy in this video probably not working if you try it for now against 3 legendary ai.
It's like Atriox made this as a trial for Arbiter, so he can prove himself to be the best commander, and useful for The banished. I'm talking about the fact, that all of your enemies have chosen The banished leaders.

the bots for me always rush me with like 100 choppers/jackrabbits early is just something hard for me to counter.

Kevin Johnson RT + dpad up makes group to slot 1
There is an option to swap dpad controls, so groups don't need RT. It's faster if you use groups a lot.
