This is the best video how to on the Fiat 500 rear shock change. That said here’s a bit of additional information the lower bolt is a E-Torx head E18 in size. The bolt is a stud as the outer nut does not remove. I also noticed that while re installing the bolts that the threads in the top are easy to possibly strip, go easy once snug use an 1/8 or a 1/4 turn it’s all by feel. For a little added insurance I used some blue lock tight on the top and bottom it’s not necessary but I like to use it in certain situations for my piece of mind. I didn’t mention this I used my ratcheting breaker bar as my wrench it is very easy to get crazy with leverage and I’m good at feeling things out that’s how I noticed the possibility of stripping if your using a breaker bar as the main tool as opposed to a standard ratchet be mindful of this.
Many thanks for posting this video. You’ve given me the confidence that I can do this job myself. I like the way you show the entire process without any time lapse: that conveys a good idea of what’s involved. My 500s was in for a service yesterday and the garage quoted £401 gbp to replace rear shocks!
It's pretty easy. Mine is in Canada, so you may find some differences but I doubt it. The front suspension is a different animal. But you do fine on the rears! Thanks for the comment!

Glad to hear. Thanks for your added outlook!

No bushings needed on them?
Nope. They are built into the shock. This is why I was doing the job.
Do you feel less bumps?
Made a huge improvement to ride quality!
