It is so nice to see Alma getting recognition for her amazing talent since moving to Vienna, something which the British classical music scene miserably failed to do while she was resident there. Astonishing neglect
Good to see Alma playing the great compositions of the classical literature. She is fortunate to have a Vienna Philharmonic violinist to harmonize with. He is fortunate to have her as accompanist.
Wonderful!! I am so happy that Alma is appearently an accomplished and fully respected musician in Vienna. It is not easy to impress the Vienna Philharmonics, I think it was not that long ago that they didn’t accept women as orchestra members.
@bhami A split-screen recording with Alma playing both parts would be very interesting. Such a recording would also allow for a better level balance between instruments.
I know less about music than most of the commenters, but I would say that in Alma’s compositions, she shows a great sensitivity to the conversation among the different instruments, and makes allowances for each to shine. From this performance of a Beethoven piece, one can see from whom she learned this composing skill, at least in part. Clearly she is in the middle of the through-line of western classical musical composition and performance.
Perfect approachment to an early Beethoven's work: classical spirit, just a touch of Romanticism and passion but not too much. Alma is not only a gifted composer, but also an accomplished performer with a lot to say.
I always found composers to be the best performers, to be honest. The compositional perspective gives one the deepest understanding on the emotional language of music in terms of appropriate expression.
I am delighted when i come across Alma performing the great composers' works. Inevitably she will concentrate on her composing but I for one hope that she can still perform as well because she is a very fine pianist and violinist. I like hearing her play other composers' work as well as her own. Performing the great composers' works will help Alma with her own composing too.
Ludwig really knew how to put a spring in one's step. Add Alma to the fold and you have a once in lifetime accompaniment interpreting exactly what Beethoven intended and accomplished. This piece spurs my imagination and it is Alma who is the perfect catalyst that makes this duo a mental chemical reaction. If Lud can hear this performance and if life on this planet is still of interest to him I am sure his mouth is gaping and his eyes bulging.
Beautiful. I played the violin part many times in my twenties and listening to it now stirs feelings in me as nothing else does. Alma's playing has a level of understanding and commitment that I cannot quite comprehend.
Excellent performance by any standards, and such a pleasure to watch Alma's delighted smile as she's carried away by the music. Great and lovely Alma Deutscher, what a gift to the world!
Two magnificent musicians in complete concert with each other and with Beethoven, who I imagine would have been delighted with this collaboration! Thank you, thank you!!! 🎶🎶🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️💥
Delighted to see Alma once again breaking the mold (and answering anybody criticizing her as touting only her own works). Once again, as expected, and as we so often take for granted by now - a superb performance. Deutsche Grammaphon here we come. Bravo!
Not that it would be wrong if she touted only her own works. It should be noted that she never touted the works of another woman, whom critics lent an ear.
Why on earth would anyone do less than admire someone who can not only play so beautifully, but can also create fun and inspiringly beautiful music to bring joy to the whole world? Would they say the same of Mozart, Bach, Schubert, Beethoven and all others when these Talents Supreme were alive, and when they were young and making their way through into the world?
she played already works of Bach ,concertos for violin And for piano!, Haydn, Mozart, concert op.246, Scarlatti, Francoise Schubert violin,Marxsen ( teacher of Brahms) , Seitz, violin, Beriot, F. Schubert violin a.piano etc., one must only look , its easy to find! Some people are just to lazy to look a little and you can never please some people ! ;)
I know what she's done when she was younger; but nothing lately, and nothing since moving to Vienna. Like I said - this a great statement to critics saying she only does her own works. That's just not true. I'm trying to get her interested in performing Clara Schuman's Trio in G (I don't care which part she plays): it's a lovely piece (somewhat akin to Alma, the middle [slow] movement IMO the best) by just about the only counterpart [female composer] Alma has. Come to think of it, it'd be a great piece for Helen to play the violin part.
That was the most magnificent performance of the piano side of the Spring sonata I have ever heard - it takes me back to my childhood and Hepzibah Menuhin, 76 years ago. I'd like to hear it with a violinist with as much verve as Alma; it - and the Kreutzer sonata, are I think, almost a competition between two soloists, if they are rightly played. Thank you, Alma.
You should have suspected from her [superbly interwoven] Ludwig Waltzes that she was very familiar with Beethoven's works. They're up here on RUclips - somewhere.
Absolutely wonderful you two! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍🤎 🎼🎹🔆🎶🤍🎵🖤🏆🎻🔆✨🎵💕🎶😊 Alma it’s always a pleasure to hear and see you perform. Your joy in the doing comes through so powerfully and pleasurably. Thank you!!
The clarity in how the piano lines are played is amazing.
This young lady’s talent is unlimited .
It is so nice to see Alma getting recognition for her amazing talent since moving to Vienna, something which the British classical music scene miserably failed to do while she was resident there. Astonishing neglect
What a luxury- to have Alma as your accompanist.
This is a duet, and her soli are as important as his are- and needless to say, as well-played.

Wonderful!!

Alma's passion for Beethoven very evident.
OK, now let's have another video with Alma playing the violin part!
@bhami

@@donna30044 What a great idea!
Amazing - she is playing long passages from memory, and looking at the violinist more than her score!! Perfect matching.

What a pleasure to see Alma at the piano in a Beethoven piece ! Nice and great performance !

Wunderschön. Großartige Musik, ich bin begeistert.
Liebe Kollege Gerald!! Sehr begeistert, wundeschöne Frühling Sonate ,schöne Ton u,
Interpretation . Habe ich mich sehr gefreud. Junko
Alma performs like she had composed this herself. Love it. Also, a gorgeous Bösendorfer.

Fabulous interpretation of the piano part. Amazing maturity of Alma!
Yeah - we take it for granted by now, but she's - what - 16 now?
Wow ! Just wonderful playing too from Herr Schubert ,Accompanying the worlds best. His playing is extraordinary .
I just loved this and am so happy that Alma did Beethoven proud.
I wish to be working with Alma Deutscher on a regular basis some day.
I just have to listen to Alma playing anything and it makes me happy
And I thought se was only so good with her own compositions.......I was very wrong, this is great. Thank you again Alma. You are so gifted.
Alma played a lot of music from other composers-as Bach,Haydn, Mozart, Scarlatti,Schubert and others -on piano as also on violin!!
You should have suspected from her [superbly interwoven] Ludwig Waltzes that she was very familiar with Beethoven's works. They're up here on RUclips - somewhere.

Brillante, talentueuse et magistrale Alma ! Magnifique !
Beautiful! I’d love to hear Alma perform more chamber music.
Beautiful.
I could enjoy this all day. Stunning.
It makes my day! Thank you, miss Alma.
Wow!
What exquisite piano 🎹 playing!
I love what you did with the 1st phrase.
You executed it perfectly!
We'll take our party of 8 on April 5 to her Vienna Concert. What a marvelous experience.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I love you.
The more I listen, I heard an amazing violinist 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Music is the only thing old and young can do together.
In a nice way that no one feels used.
Bravo bravo. 💕💕💕
(No dirty comments).
Lol
Such an excellent performance!! Such great musicality, so beautiful!
Wonderful both of you, violin is so compassionate 👏 Well done 🌷🌹
Magnificent !

I like this interpretation. Con brio e gusto!
Bravo👏👏👏
How nice :-)
Beautiful !! 💕
Excellent job. Bravo!
Well done
Nice, love this so much
Who would give this a thumbs down 🤔 Weird!
c'est beau !
Is Alma famous? I have no idea who she is but everyone in the comments refers to her with familiarity. I came here for the piece. Great performance.
Pray tell us, where is your home planet? You have mastered our language very well indeed. Welcome.
She was the girl on 60 Minutes years ago for her talents as a composer now all grown up.
Great sound recording too. Hear that Bosendorfer sing!
bravo (de France)
💞 Very beautiful !
💖😊💖
Alma matters.
Do you have the book? Alma! Great performance!
Sooo schön!
I would like to know if the people who gave dislikes could do it better!
They must have disliked the violinist.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🥰🥰🥰
Great to see Gerlad Schubert play besides in wiener philharmonincs
Absolutely wonderful you two! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍🤎
🎼🎹🔆🎶🤍🎵🖤🏆🎻🔆✨🎵💕🎶😊
Alma it’s always a pleasure to hear and see you perform. Your joy in the doing comes through so powerfully and pleasurably. Thank you!!
I like Alma's interpretation of this piece. More Beethovian in the expression that I'm used to hearing in the "Spring" sonata.
