The main guy that always sticks out to me is Tom Chambers in "Lakers vs Celtics and the NBA playoffs" for Genesis. He was a pretty good player in real life but an unstoppable MVP in the game. They gave him a double pump dunk animation that you could launch into from just outside the key, and he was the only one in the game who could do it. It seemed completely unblockable and he'd suddenly be levitating halfway across the screen.

    International Superstar Soccer:
The whole Germany squad is insanely OP, you can score goals (legit way) from almost as half the field without any issue, they have max stamina (so they won't tire as fast as the rest).
Another OP character on the same game : Allejo (Brasil top star) dude is insanely fast (can run from his own goalkeeper area to the rival's without breaking a sweat), has the best ball control in the whole game and he's sure to hit a good pass or center 98% of the time; luckily in order for him to not break the game his stamina is one of the worst so he gets tired real fast, but if you maximize his time he's a nightmare.

Keep in mind both the original ISS and the Deluxe version were finalized just after 1994 WC, that Brazil won, and Germany won the previous, 1990 event. I remember Germany being just a robot army in most soccer games of the era, particularly in Super Soccer, where they were faster, harder and meaner than the secret Nintendo Boss Team you needed to defeat after them.

The reason why Roenick is a god on the Genesis but just "good" on the SNES is because the Genesis features a weight bug where the heavier a player is the more easily they get checked off the puck. Roenick's weight is relatively low.
This is why in '94 Lindros sucks and Theo Fleury is Sergei Mozyakin levels of amazeballs.

Seems like it's rare to get a cross of a gamer and sports fan, usually the sports guys only play sports games and don't buy other games. And since most youtube personalities are traditionally more 'gamers' than sports fans they don't cover the sports series history. It's rare to find a "gamer" who is also a sports fan and can wax poetic on the history of sports games. It's a nice change of pace and a welcome addition to your great content library.

Fun fact: many try to downplay the back to back championships Houston won because Jordan was "retired" for one of them and was #45 Jordan for the other. What they fail to mention is that the Rockets just had Chicago's number during that era simply because Dream was so damn good and the Bulls centers always sucked. Not forgetting to mention that Mad Max Vernon Maxwell was as close to a Jordan "stopper" as one could be in his prime. If you don't believe me, go look at the stats from that era in a head to head. Or better yet see if you can find some old game footage. Fact of the matter is that Dream was leading those Championship teams to the titles those years regardless of Jordan "retiring" or not.

Fun fact: When they made the Mutant League Saturday morning cartoon show, "Bones" was the main character (not sure if they included his last name in the show or not.)
That was, by far, my favorite Saturday Morning Cartoon, even though it had a short run. It was INCREDIBLY violent. Characters would have their limbs ripped off, decapitated heads kicked through field goals, all sorts of stuff. It was justified because after the game they could go into a healing pod that would fix them up regardless of how bad the injury/death was. They even had an episode referring to the 1972 rugby team that crashed in the Andes and had to cannibalize each other to survive. In that episode, a half lizard/half man character (who was Bone's best friend/sidekick/Scottie Pippen) had to chop off his tail so everyone could eat it. They even offered to give him a piece, but he refused. I haven't seen that episode in over 20 years, but it affected me so much I still remember it, that scene specifically. I mean, to offer someone a piece of his own, freshly cooked limb, seemed so wrong.
    90s cartoons were crazy.

Not only legends from the eighties and nineties but also way before that. When I got that game and accidentally unlocked Jordan because I wanted to create him in the league. I decided to check who was "hidden" in there. It has the entire rookie class plus superstars going back to Bill Russell and Bob Cousy with most everyone in between. I spent an insane amount of time and searched through decades of superstars to see who they had and created my own league with modified rosters of old and new. As a result that was probably my most favorite basketball game of all time and in fact I still have and play it to this day.
