It's funny hearing about "Maya being the comfort program". I went from Max to Maya to XSI in college, and then all the way back to Max when I when I worked in the industry. I actually bought a copy of XSI because it was such a damn good piece of software, especially the UV mapping tools which a decade later the other two still couldn't match.
