woah i never knew zelda music was inspired directly by plantasia!! i always knew they sounded similiar but never knew zelda was directly inspired. so cool!
Hey, Earth here. Just want to say how glad I am that there are people who like plants. You know, you all came from plants. And plants you shall be! Anyways, I'm going to arrange Plantasia for four hands piano so that you humans can play it together. Also, remember to love me!
thank you Patricia and all involved! Keep love of Mort alive, and that phenomenal album which has sweetened many nights for me (and my plants) when the sun is not shining.
Gosh.. What an experience this must've been to be there. Thank you for sharing this, even if it IS a fraction of what the true impact would've been had the viewer actually been there.
I'm very glad that I finally broke down and mought a Moog Grandmother. Now I have to sync her up to my rack of Korgs and just play ambient music all day and dream!
Absolutely resonate with this type of music. I use those swells in the background (first track) in alot of my ambient works too. Anybody know of other artists with similar vibes? I'll be getting on spotify and exploring myself.
that's why you should never use your favorite song as an alarm or phone ringtone. because you always associate the song to an annoying thing such as a phonecall or alarm
Nice and chilled. I have 2x moog m32, a dfam and just got the Subharmonicon - Great sound indeed but the sequencers are lacking: such a shame there is no reset in or direction change on the Dfam and the M32 sequencer is just unpleasant to work with. I've started to use my other modular for sequencing them. The Subharmonicon sequencer is pretty fun so far though.
Plantasia is a really cool ablum - but why is Mort Garson's other album called "Black Mass Lucifer"? What is up with that? Doesn't sound so kind and fun after all.
from its wikipedia page "Another noted that the record was created at the same time occult topics were highlighted in music (Black Sabbath), movies (Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist), and recent events (the Tate murders)"
Mort made all sorts of music: pop songs like Our Day Will Come, beachside albums with Santo & Johnny, big band string productions, a series of Zodiac LPs, game show music, moog Wizard of Oz and Hair LPs, two albums about the occult, a porno record, and finally his magnum opus Plantasia. He was incredibly prolific over the course of 20 years, but since he rarely released music under his own name, much of his music remains obscured. For what it's worth, Black Mass is more interesting than entertaining, but its follow up Ataraxia rocks because of "Deja Vu".
Long live the plants. And Moog
@DIV1NITAL i will eat a moog and it will scream as i swallow it whole.
And Mort Garson
If mac and cheese is comfort food, then Plantasia is my comfort music. Just turn it on whenever I'm tired or sad and I am replenished with good vibes.
woah i never knew zelda music was inspired directly by plantasia!! i always knew they sounded similiar but never knew zelda was directly inspired. so cool!
Moog synths are fruits of the electric tree 🌲🕊️
I love this so much. 💗
Max is such a beautiful synthesist & human.
So are you, Lisa. Big fan.
I'm a fan too. Salute!
Maybe modular synth-sounds make plants grow faster and stronger...
I can’t find a study on it with a quick google search but I think it would be neat to read. If someone finds one drop a link?
the scenery the music, the weather, the animals. so perfect in harmony
I've never heard music like this before. I listened to this twice as I drank coffee and watched the orange smoke roll in. Amazing
RUclips needs more cultured programs like this. Bless Larry Fast as well !
I suppose this piece has a positive effect on the human brain as well as plant when I see lots of great comments. They're full of sap.
There's no inherent positive effect. People just like it, lol.
its likes being high but w/o the green. j straight up plant music. love it
Watching this for the third time now. Beautiful soundscapes, beautiful scenery.

Piece #4 is EPIC
I had to remind myself to breathe. Crystalline & weightless sounds. Magic.
I love moog's aesthetic.

If he was using a IIIc those 901s would be giving him all kinds of trouble hahahah.

i am so mad at myself for using this album for my phone alarms and ruining all the songs for me
that's why you should never use your favorite song as an alarm or phone ringtone. because you always associate the song to an annoying thing such as a phonecall or alarm
It's official. I am a tree now.

Is there somewhere I can buy or download this recording in good quality ? :)
There are a number of RUclips to MP3 type websites you can Google and find quite easily!!
but did the plants like it? that's the real test i think 🤔
Is this copy right free ?
no.

pretty
O.O
Perfect choice of backdrop too. Does anyone know where this was filmed?
Very first line of the description: "Plantasia at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden"
Now give us an Ode to Lucifer! ;)
