- I am in Peterhead! A beautiful village on the easternmost point of mainland Scotland. It is here where the most beautiful mackerel is landed in the port, and today I am cooking together with Lewis. Lewis is the chef of the mackerel vessel "Chris Andra", and together we making one of the fishermen's favourite dishes; panfried mackerel with panzanella! Enjoy!
Thank you to Lewis, Andrew, Tony, Willie and the crew for having us and showing us the most delicious mackerel in the world!

Happy Fishy Friday! Enjoy this episode together with Lewis, the chef - and one of the fishermen - on mackerel vessel "Chris Andra" in Scotland! How do you like your mackerel? Cheers!
Yeah! More mackerel dishes please! Love it
Great recipe. The panzanella looks fantastic.
A very nice interpretation of an italian classic merged with an amazing fish! We should eat more of such fishes as they are cheap, healthy and sustainable! Keep spreading the word Bart! Greetings from Rome, Italy!
You get the message Francesco! Thank you for watching and greetings from Amsterdam
Cooking on that boat looks like it would be fun. Lewis sounds like he's from Scotland? Love that amazing frying pan, nothing like cooking on cast iron. Great video once again.

My favorite recipe yet , will do this Bart , Im from the Philippines
Thank you very much! Greetings from Amsterdam
I am proud of that mock exam. The one i took in 12 th grade. Its never too late for anything
I've got a question for Lewis. How much time do you take, on average, to prepare a meal? Can you take your time and really slow-cook something, or does it have to be something quick since you're helping with the fishing as well?
Like the addition of the broken bread in the panzanella, not heard of this salad before. The Mackerel looks superb. Thank You Bart and Lewis, really interesting video, like the kitchen really clever idea with the frying pan. Just had a curious thought, if you really want to be a fisherman but suffer with sea sickness is there a way of overcoming it or do you just live with it.
Hi gary daniels there are no tricks to overcoming seasickness I'm afraid so you just have to live with it until you "find your sea legs"
Thanks forwatching again Gary
looks delicious, im sure working on a boat is a hard life but man does it sound interesting
It's hard but really rewarding!
Lewis is a machine
He is!!
Lewis has the body language of a marine soldier waiting for instructions. Great recipe nonetheless
Lewis, do you get paid extra, since you work on deck, as well as running the galley?
Bart what's your favourite fish dish to eat at christmas? (not including smoked salmon!) :)
Hi Rhi, my favourite (not only Christmas) fish are scallops, wild(!) salmon, Icelandic cod & haddock! Thanks for watching.
To Louis: if you're on deck and pulling out the fish. Do you get sometime hungry and eat the fish raw, like sashimi style?
Hi Mariusz Kaczmarek . I do enjoy sashimi but it's best in thin slices with pickled ginger and a good soy sauce. I just have to wait till I'm back in the galley if I'm hungry.🙂
I might just eat some fish today!
damn looks good!
Mackerel is my favorite fish tooo :) So greasey YUM And cute dudes
Thanks for watching ;-)
He can't be the one and only Lewis in the world, i know a Lewis. :p
Not the only one in the world, but the only one on the ship ;-)
Bart's Fish Tales Aye, aye captain! Really enjoy the videos friend, keep em coming!
Bart's Fish Tales right you are :)
The weather outside that porthole looks terrible. Bart I noticed you kept your distance from the cook. He has the stereotypical "I'll kill you if you fuck with me" Scott look lol. He's like "I fish and then cook too got a problem with that" lol. I bet he made you drink whiskey at the end...........don't lie!.....lol good vid.
Hi WW Suwannee. I made sure it was the best whisky, only a single malt would do. LoL 👍
would give 10 thumbs up if possible :-)
Thanks ;-)
