Therefore if I face someone who's anywhere from 2700-2750, and they aren't expert yet, I know it could be the set that they rank up if they go positive. Same for legend. If I face someone at 2990 ELO, I know this set would be their legend set if they go positive. So likely to give the free win at that ELO.
For the last almost 2 months, at least 2 battles every set has some point where the game lags in such a way that it becomes almost impossible to come back and pull off a win. I have a year old device, great Internet connection, I turn off almost every app on my device, I restart the phone every couple sets, nothing changes the issues at hand. I haven't spent money on this game in a couple years now, and have thousands of coins because I refuse to invest in the game when it can't keep itself straight from update to update.
I have also only hit Legend through special cups. I find that the limited metas make the games more about matchup knowledge and identifying win conditions. Not to say that the open leagues don't require those, but the teams in open leagues are so varied that you can't always make correct predictions.
QOTD: I feel like, once you hit legend rank, you should only be able to battle those in the same rank as you, some trainers tank on purpose to get to the lowers ELOs and then basically gatekeep the ranks and not play, but toy with the trainers, making them think they have a chance. I think it's pretty unfair for trainers in lower ranks to battle against those who tank on purpose.

QOTD: Lanturn being unnerfed is good for the meta. Taking Lanturn out of the meta, as the Remix Cup showed me, has lead to such a funneled experience that causes way too little diversity. Since Lanturn ends up being the only water people want to use, it keeps other obnoxious threats at bay.

I've been running Mantine, Arctibax and shadow Groudon. This is the most fun I've ever had playing GBL. The booms I've had with Groudon have been absolutely insane and I've climbed 350 points so far with him.
