Hello, I'm a final-year veterinary student interested in pursuing an MBA to broaden my career opportunities. However, when I looked into the profile requirements of IIMs, I realized my academic profile might not be very competitive. My scores are 91% in 10th grade, 54% in 12th grade (as I was unwell and preparing for NEET that year), and my current graduation GPA is 7.4. Also i belong to OBC category. Given my profile, especially the low 12th-grade percentage, what would you suggest for me? Which B-schools should I aim for?
Hey, you can target colleges where academic scores are not important or given less weightage. I'll soon share a detailed list of such colleges, so stay tuned! :)) Having said that, your academic profile is decent (apart from 12th scores), so if you give your best in CAT - you can still receive calls from a lot of IIMs (C, L, etc.). So just focus on your CAT prep for now.
Mam i have a doubt not related to this video is macbook good for mba will face any issues like installing any other softwares or any other things compared to non apple laptops for mba?
Hey, if you already have a macbook then it's not mandatory to switch. But if you are planning to buy one - I would recommend going for Windows as you will be used to the interface and won't have to waste time learning Mac functions!
Hi didi i got 82% in 10th , 80% in 12th and i am non engineering student currently i m 3 rd year and in 4 th sem my cgpa was (8.15) what percentile should i target for iim calls this year?
Hey, target percentile depends on the college you are aiming for but given your profile - anything above 99.5%ile would ensure you get maximum calls. :)
Hii di, as you are mentioning that you used to classify the sets as LR or DI, so how did you do this because nowadays logical Di is coming in the exams ?
Hi Stuti, for LR based DI sets --> if it looks too calculation heavy then I treat would treat it as a DI set while ranking. But again, for me the order would be LR > LR based DI > DI sets solely because I loved solving LR sets, gave me an edge. Hope that helps! :))
Hey, if you have any books, coaching material or practice sets - you can use that or else I have shared a video on FREE practice material - so you can even refer to that to kind practice sets online. Hope this helps! :)
Hello, you can participate in extra-curricular activities, take up club positions, do online courses, internships (even if they are unpaid, nobody would know) - all these things will improve your CV :)
I have given my 4th full mock yesterday and mock by mock my percentile is decreasing, i don't know what is happening. I was preparing from may onwards and completed my syllabus in july but still I don't feel any confidence in quant and dilr .Can you please suggest me something?
Hey, have you analysed the mocks? Where are you lacking or what exactly is the problem? That would help us in overcoming it. Will soon share a video on how to analyse mocks properly also, so stay tuned! Hopefully it would be helpful :)
Hey, you good grades so that would help you but different colleges have different criteria depending on your background - so your aim would vary. But in my opinion, aim 100%ile so that you give your best in CAT and don't become complacent!! :)
Heyy, to improve your concentration to minimize your distractions - phone, laptop sabko room se bahar rakh do jab tak you don’t complete a sectional test/ any task you define. You can also locking your phone so that koi alternative hi naa ho.
Hey, if you are interested into Analytics or want to have a career in Data Science, it's a good program - both PGDBA from IIMC and IIMB. Plus, the placements are on par with the PGP batch, so that's also not an issue.
Hi , Does IIM curriculum help those, who want to do business? Is it possible to do a business while studying in any IIM, looking at their tight schedule? Also whatever is taught in IIM's can it learned through online courses like in coursera etc?
Hey, actually the answer would depend on why you want to do an MBA. If it's for networking or having a trustworthy brand for the investors - then there is no alternative for it. As for learning, you might be able to learn everything that's taught at an IIM because it's more than just reading the material. IIM gives you a platform to discuss, learn about the different perspectives, etc. But you can learn whatever is required via practical experience as well (while running the business). So think about what you except to gain from an MBA and then take a call. Hope this helps! :)
@@mbawithprachi This message helps a lot. Thank you for replying to my query. It would be great if could also tell about whether it is possible to run your own business while studying in IIM's as they have a tight schedule.
Hey, for a top-tier b-school you will have to score above 99.7-8%ile so that you can get a call. Due to your 12th marks, you might face some challenges - so try to average it out by scoring well in CAT :))
Mam if i am not able to solve a dilr set on myself and when i understand solution and make it again on same day and after some days i am mostly able to make it on my own So should i take it in a positive manner Bcz if i see i am not able to make a set i feel demotivated 😅
Hey, just keep practicing. Like you said, when you try to solve it later on - you are able to do it. And that's all that matters - to be able to solve the sets in the main exam. So keep practicing, and figure out where you are lacking - are you misinterpreting the question, unable to comprehend the constraints, or what exactly and then work on it! The more you practice, you more comfortable you'll become :))
Heyy, first analyze ki problem kahan hai - concepts nahi pata hai ya time limit ke andar andar questions solve nahi ho rahe hai ya phir you're selecting the wrong set (trying to solve the difficult ones). Ek baar problem pata chal jaayegi toh then we can work on it jaise concepts weak hai toh practice more sets of that particular problem. I will also share a detailed video on how to analyse your mocks to improve your scores, so stay tuned! :))
