@@h3rtzen yh ive been playing for 5 months. i can palm mute and strum fairly fast but the main thing im working on is pinch harmonics. its a good thing i like linkin park because most of their songs are easy to play
Hey, watching from Ireland. I love how I have only started getting into slipknot at 31 yrs old and any song I've looked for a lesson for so far you are the first result and within weeks. I like you style of teaching but I'm not at this level yet. I'll be saving these lessons tho. Can I ask a few noob question? How do you do the pinch harmonic, is that a pedal or something, sounds so cool. Also can you recommend any exercises for finger placements. My finger always want to fly all over the place 😅 Anyways great content, subbed 👌
Thanks for the kind words! The pinch harmonic is its own technique, basically you use your thumb to hit the string right after the pick and it creates that noise. As far as the exercises go, there's a million out there that I can't really explain in a comment. But I'm sure there's tons of videos on RUclips where people go over finger exercises for metal.
Thanks for watching! I was just using plugins for this lesson, but here's my recommendation at a low price point level: Tiny Terror with an MXR GT-OD in front through an Orange 2x12.
I label every part I’m teaching on the screen, but if you mean time stamps yeah looks like I forgot this one. It’s a pain in the ass but I’m sure I’ll do it eventually lol
Very cool! No promises but that's probably the most requested one I get, so I'll try to do it soon. I just have to relearn it, it's been a while since the Vol. 3 covers.
Thanks! You’re in luck, I’m going to be doing a video on how to emulate Jim’s tone on AHIG for free using plugins that I use. Be sure to subscribe to catch it 🤘🏻
I've covered the standard editions of Self-Titled, Iowa, Vol. 3, and the deluxe edition of .5 in their entirety. And a few from AHIG. I'll probably stick to those eras for a while. The next cover I have planned is Vendetta.
@@BlackacreDoe Fuck yeah would love to see more AHIG covers, your videos are my main reference and a massive help for the videos I make and I'm planning on doing all of AHIG in December so I really appreciate the work you've done over the years!
Though I have been playing for 4 years, my left wrist still hurts when I hold a barred chord for a long duration like the one for this song. Any tips? Could you also do a lesson on 'Holy Wars... The Punishment Due' by Megadeth please?
I would try to relax your hand and fingers and find a sweet spot where you're pressing your fingers down hard enough to make the notes ring out, but not hard enough where it becomes painful
When I get my ring finger to hit that 6th string on main riff I always end up muting the 5th string. Whether it being my bar ring finger bad or ring touching the 5th string, I do have relatively small hands
@@alejandropesina98 Clean part is echo and a slow phaser, intro is just my regular distorted tone for the channel. Cranked Marshall style amp plugin with an OD in front

Whenever I want to watch a Slipknot cover, I come to your channel. Definitely the best Slipknot covers channel!
Thank you!

Bro, thank you for your lessons. What you use to have this similar tone and maybe you can recommend pedal for slipknot tone?
