Now that the SC is taking up cases arbitrarily, it's clear the SC of today is not doing whatt it was supposed to do by the Constitution... 370 removal - we will look into that later. CAA- We will take it up later. Electoral bonds- later Habeas corpus, judge loya case, bhima koregaon-- we will hear them later. Arnab goswami petition, and Prashant Bhushan contempt case--- These are of grave concerns for our country and democracy, we willhear it now.
We should ensure that collegium system of courts should end that only last hope in our judiciary until there is transparency in appointment of judges nothing is going to change

Mr.Thapar and Mr. Shourie, when I was doing LL.M. in Constitutional Law from the University of Bombay 1982-1983,I was taught that if there was another Court above the Supreme Court, half of its decisions would be set aside.

Indian history will not forget Mr. Bhushan for his fearless, honest tweets which are in no way an insult but an eye opener for the judiciary and Government. The hierarchy of priorities of the Hon'ble SC seems to have gone awry. With due respect to the Hon'ble judges Iwould like to submit : Kindly do not diminish this great Institution you belong to . To paraphrase Shakespeare : It is great to have a giant's strength ; but to use it like a giant is tyrannous.
Mr Thapar and Mr Shourie,Mr Madhu Limaye, a great parliamentarian once said that the judges of the Supreme Court were residing in ivory towers.This is from my memory and Mr Limaye made this remark after the Bank Nationlization case.

The biggest contempt of SC was when four SC Judges held a public press conference few years back and raised questions about the institution of Supreme Court itself. Why wasn't any action taken then ?
Marvelous interview. I am pleased to listen two great personalities and feel that democracy of our country will definitely survive. This is a temporary face and people wil defeat anti-democratic forces. Lastly I will praise Mr Prashant Bhushan who raised his voice so strongly.
The reasons given by the Supreme Court has exposed its own hollowness , by writing a 109 pages , full of sound and fury without any substance !!!!! A very sad situation, these three judges have placed themselves in !!! The criminal politicians and their criminal acts should have been dealt with firmly by this court which it doesn't seem to be concerned with....... otherwise how can so many MPs with criminal cases reach the Parliament ?

It is a treat when two intelligent people talk to each other is what we experienced after seeing this interview.. With due respect to the supreme Court and the judges, few thoughts that come to my mind in the context of the recent judgment on contempt given incase of Mr Prashant bhushan.. 1. Was there no contempt when four sitting judges came out in public criticising openly the functioning of the supreme Court?? 2. Can a couple of tweets tarnish the image of the CJI or his office or the supremacy of the court?? Should the supreme Court take these tweets so seriously in order to pass a judgement running over hundred pages?? 3. In the entire judgment, as Mr Arun has pointed out why there is no discussion as to exactly how and where the contempt has taken place?? 4. Can a criticism be a contempt?? 5. If someone gets so hurt by a tweet, then why not file a defamation suit in personal capacity against the person writing that tweet?? Why to blow this issue out of proportion?? 6. People holding top positions rarely have a distinction between their personal and professional life and this applies to all the professions.. It is indeed worrying to see the direction in which our country is heading where a voice of dissent is seen as a contempt... A word of criticism against a government is seen as an act of sedition..

Mr.Thapar and Mr. Shourie, when I was doing LL.M. in Constitutional Law from the University of Bombay 1982-1983,I was taught that if there was another Court above the Supreme Court, half of its decisions would be set aside.

After watching this Interview one can safely conclude That Prashant Bhushan has won the Case in the Court of Public Opinion.
The biggest contempt of SC was when four SC Judges held a public press conference few years back and raised questions about the institution of Supreme Court itself. Why wasn't any action taken then ?
Marvelous interview. I am pleased to listen two great personalities and feel that democracy of our country will definitely survive. This is a temporary face and people wil defeat anti-democratic forces. Lastly I will praise Mr Prashant Bhushan who raised his voice so strongly.

Now people have completely lost faith in judiciary when it came to the notice of the pulic the fixing of benches in the time of Deepak Mishra. In continuance to it the verdicts come in favor of crimes like karnataka, maharashtra and indifference to Rajasthan issue when there was attempt to topple the government.
We honor Prashant Bhusan and not the few biased judges of the Supreme Court. They have lost the dignity and the trust of the people.

Yes, it was a pleasant surprise to see Mr Shorie after a long interval. I think he met with an accident and got head injury. PM Modi met him personally while he was recouping. Then only it was a sigh of relief for me.

It is a treat when two intelligent people talk to each other is what we experienced after seeing this interview.. With due respect to the supreme Court and the judges, few thoughts that come to my mind in the context of the recent judgment on contempt given incase of Mr Prashant bhushan..
1. Was there no contempt when four sitting judges came out in public criticising openly the functioning of the supreme Court??
2. Can a couple of tweets tarnish the image of the CJI or his office or the supremacy of the court?? Should the supreme Court take these tweets so seriously in order to pass a judgement running over hundred pages??
3. In the entire judgment, as Mr Arun has pointed out why there is no discussion as to exactly how and where the contempt has taken place??
4. Can a criticism be a contempt??
5. If someone gets so hurt by a tweet, then why not file a defamation suit in personal capacity against the person writing that tweet?? Why to blow this issue out of proportion??
6. People holding top positions rarely have a distinction between their personal and professional life and this applies to all the professions..
It is indeed worrying to see the direction in which our country is heading where a voice of dissent is seen as a contempt... A word of criticism against a government is seen as an act of sedition..
