Big up Egal. I`m a Northside subscriber and i share many of his views on things, but i disagree with him on this one though.
Imo, our bench is too weak and many players on that bench can`t come on and make a difference. Jorginho is one of the players that can actually do that though imo.
I think Northside picked the wrong battle here. There are many other players i want gone before Jorginho and a 1 year contract is just fine. Imo ofc.

I know my strikers lol, so I _really_ did not think so. Fact is, I don't care that I won that very important debating point (it's only about the main Arsenal striker you know??) I just want Us to get over the line. But this manager gave Edd!e the chances and keeps failing.
@@netweed09 m8, I`m just a nobody with an opinion. We need to strenghten our starting 11 and more important: We need better players on the bench. Jorginho is one of the few players i like on that bench. He should not be the player that leaves first after this season. A new one year contract with him is just fine imo. It`s reasonable.
Nketiah, Reiss, Vieria, Elneny, ESR and more should go

Getting another manager is possible though....and to get a couple of better players in the starting XI and to get a few better players on the bench.
My only point is that there are other players that needs to go before Jorginho.
edit: and i like the 1 year contract. It means we are not stuck with him on the payroll for years if he doesn`t perform.

You are right in that 1 guy isn't the main issue. 👍 This is the issue though, Arteta is sadly not going anywhere for at least 2 more ssns and is a safe as Houses manager who does nothing exciting. I think what Northside thinks here is that now that Jorginho has re-signed, Arsenal will not spend money in summer on midielder and instead do what they did under Arsene Wenger which is buy one big signing like a "striker" and then buy some fodder like Nuno Tavares who will eventually be deemed not good enough to be on the bench the following season. Northside expects Arsenal to make 3 big signings so that overall quality in squad can improve instead. I know you've said that this is a different Arsenal from the Wenger days but Northside still has the PTSD from Wenger days when the likes of Carl Jenkinson and Theo Walcottt were always extended for sentimental reasons.
We have been buying good to very good players for 3 straight summers now. Is Northside blind or what?. We wouldn't be in this position fighting for a league title in 2 consecutive seasons if we didn't invest for a prolonged time like we now have. We will buy atleast one topclass player in the summer.

Jorginho isnt a stop gap at all. Still one of the best veteran midfielders in the league. HIs performances and passing range have been lit.
Jorginho in 2024 performed vs liverpool,Newcastle,Brentford,Sheffield,Brighton and Bayern in 2nd leg
He is the reason we drew 2-2 with spurs and lost the ball gifting villa second goal. He cost us 2 points this season which probably would have won us the league

The way I see it, one of Partey or Jorginho had to go since I believe we’re getting another major midfield signing. Resigning Jorginho is a strong indication that Partey will go.
