I loved the scene where he adorns his sister with jewelry. Karanju poyi. 😭 I believe its difficult to get that note right. The director pulled it off very well. We are often condemned to live as arulmozhi but we can try our best to be a meiyazhagan.
@@ukie713 there was a small tribute section for that scene inside this video but had to remove it because of copyright issues. I loved that scene too 🤎
I went through most of the situations which Arulmozhi's charcter went through in my life and that got me very much connected to the movie. Throughout the movie, i was seeing myself in the place of Arulmozhi, and cried like anything in many scenes mainly the scene where Arulmozhi leaves Karthi with the soulful track Yaaro Ivan Yaaro
Well, Thank you again for such a moving essay/contemplation of this film…easily my favorite film of 2024. I feel so lucky that this film played here in the US in a nearby theater and that hence I got to see the uncut version. My added delight was that I brought my sister to see it, her first Indian film. Even though she is not a serious fan of film, the beauty and positivity of this one won her over. How wonderful for C. Prem Kumar to assert, with no irony, that the film’s intent is to better the lives of each viewer…. In fact in these cynical times that is simply radical. True story: I woke up the day after viewing this film from a dream in which I was full of joy… I credit *Meiyazhagan*

To me it was about two perspectives of life..one person who lived with a sense of betrayal he felt and lived with which makes him lose his true self..coz he wasn't able to let go..on the other sode it was about a man who was full of gratitude, though had nothing much he was always thankful and greatful which made him such a pure soul and heart..this encounter helps him realise who he was originally, a pure Soul but coz of unable to let go of anger he lost himself..its when he realises that he lost himself and he aspires to be like meiazhagan who all his life have tried to become aravind swamy
Thank you for this video! There are many review videos but there aren’t enough analysis/explanation videos. It is a great niche. Please don’t stop. Continue this work.
Great Work.. The whole wedding sequence which slowly builds up to the finale of the jewelry scene with his sister on the stage is vere level.. Like you said it may be so under rated because many would not have understood the difficulty to pull off this scene. The aspect which I loved the most about this scene is the slowness, yes that was a brave move by the director to pace it that way. Along with all the other participants of the wedding, we are also ready to wait as long as they need to wear that Jewelry. The music, the camera, the actors, all peaked and blended together in a subtle way to evoke the emotion we felt and the tears we dropped. Kudos to the Director!

Moving abroad for a better future is not necessarily a bad idea- but i fully support your decision - being a nri for over 22 years and not a nostalgia person - this movie hit me so hard . Started bringing back all the memories . Most ppl cant have things going their way without compromises , guess thats life 😢.

Bro great analysis❤ This movie deals with similar emotional levels of 96 movie. Bhuvana wedding ornament scene is an escalated version of Ram eating the rest of Janaki ate. Both Ram and Arulmozhi left hometown due to family reason. Both are extremely connected. Ram is not guilty or sad missing his hometown when he go back, its just a neutral nostalgic recollection but for Arulmozhi going back is heavy. Arulmozhi re-discover a brotherly connection with Meiyazhagan, but Ram get deeper into his solo journey with heavy weight after Janu leaves with giving a night with lot of memories. Little nuances of memories people share while talking to each other, the ooshmalatha between people. The heaviness of little feelings, rooting to hometown, like that many things are treated similar. This Movie, I loved Arvind’s acting and handling of emotions. This and 96 are like treating similar emotions in two different routes. Like the ego clash in Ayyapanum Koshy and Driving Licence.
