I own one of them, the cheapest version (Feel) with a petrol engine, and it's really a good budget car, despite being so cheap, it feels sturdy and well assembled, it's fuel economy is incredible, the front seats are comfortable and the back seats have enough room for 3 aditional passengers. Also, the trunk is huge, really huge for such a small car. The only things I don't really like are some safety weaknesses, like fixed seatbelts and headrests in the backseats (and absence of it in the middle one), and the layout of some of the controls, ie: the window switches and the fuel cover lever.
I bought one when they launched in 2012. I chose the "Exclusive" model which is the Elysee's "top" model. Being French I expected it to be rather flimsy but it is not. Assembled in Spain for the Eastern European market and some Northern African countries in particular, it has a robust feel to it. It needs to be if you see the conditions of some of the roads out here!! LOL. I have had a few cars in my life that have mostly been German top brands but decided that I wanted something inexpensive and practical with the necessary basic "add on's" to make driving comfortable. What I got was a "lot of music for little money" literally. The car is a little heavy on road noise and, yes, it does have a lot of plastic but it does more than what you expect. It may feel a little flimsy in corners but then again it is aimed at families in developing countries with bad driving conditions not an F1 driver. It is a tough little car. All in all, if you are on a budget and want loads for your money I strongly suggest you give it a bash...er...drive! I just with they had a leather seat option so my 15 month old doesn't mess the cloth seats Oh, that reminds me: headroom immense, boot HUGE and back seat space cavernous. Just what you need for the family trip including the stroller. I just hate the drivers arm rest that gets in the way of the handbrake and why they did not equip the petrol version with cruise control (which is in the Diesel Exclusive version as standard). And another useful option would be to have GPS. The Peugeot 301 is basically one and the same vehicle with a different badge. Would I buy another one when I hand it over to my wife? YEP, I WOULD.
Erich Wirtz what mpgs are you getting put off your 1.6 Automatic per gallon? Also. Have you had any issues with its electrical systems? Its Shocks? Or its suspencion so far? Thanks.
The car is french produced in Spain. I have a 2014 c elysee exclusive. Manual transmition. Pro's: great car for the money, low price, great quality and design, very low fuel consumption. Lots of space. Con's: loud engine, you need to wait for about 10k km to really start feeling the horse power of the engine. Tires on the exclusive model are hard to find on emerging markets. Not many compartments to store small items. Overall I give it an 8 out of 10.
maybe they set the computer for low power until you break in the engine/gearbox, I drove gently for the first 10k anyway and it wasn’t limited ( not a citroen)
splendid video , very well covered ... annunciate some words though ! joke aside , it got me pumped for my 2013 model as well . waiting it to be delivered ... 1.6 HDI with 92 HP and 5-6 L diesel consumption ...
"Fires stright up"? Funny, this engine has a fuel injection, like every engine since the late 80 ies. This is normal. And : This car has a daylight running light, using the nightlight at day is not necessary.
+ESPARTANO91 Yeah it looks like Xara same as it looks like VW Beetle. What's wrong with people like you and how did you find simmilarity in a car that is 100% different than this. There is no one detail on that car that looks like this except wheels.
ESPARTANO91 Imagination ? We are talking about real, EXISTING things, not imagination. This car uses different design style than Xara and even shape of the car is different.

It's the same car used as taxis in Lisbon, Portugal. The difference is that the Lisbon taxis are black, with light green roof and pillars.

It only develops power after 10K? Why is that?
I drove one with 7k and it huffed and puffed to get around. Overtaking was scary.

maybe they set the computer for low power until you break in the engine/gearbox,
I drove gently for the first 10k anyway and it wasn’t limited ( not a citroen)
Very nice car!
I very like how it looks inside and outside.
How much it cost in russia?
Pretty stylish for the price and the interior is not too awful for an economy car

Another pretty good rival for the C-Elysee is the new Seat Toledo.
