Maybe ATV/UTV tires are different than truck tires as far a being a bias ply or a radial. He stated the radial is tougher. Offroading with Jeeps I want a bias ply. I've seen way too many radials give up the ghost on the sidewalls because they aren't as strong as a bias, and you can air a bias ply into the single digets. Do that with a radial and you are just asking for a ripped or pinched sidewall
Awesome and very informative video and still helping out till today. I've got stock 23x8x12 front & 23x10x12 rear on my 2016 arctic cat 450 XC, can I upgrade to a 27x9x12 all round? Does the rear and front tires have to be the same width?

I would consider looking into an all terrain tire that still has some beefy tread on it to help you on the snow and mud you encounter along the trail. Otherwise you could consider snow specific tires but now you are talking multiple sets of tires.
We recommend our Terrabite tire! We designed them and they've been awesome with a good price. Check out rider reviews on them too. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/723/60312/Tusk-Terrabite-Radial-Tire

Is there a Thorne/ rock proof tire. I’m in northwest Arkansas/Ozark mountains. I am getting a lot of rock damage in my tires. There about 2 years old. Yamaha wolverine x2 2021. I am mostly concerned in a tough puncture resistance.
Hi Tom, you should be looking at the higher 8-10 ply rated tires. These are going to be tougher and more puncture resistant than your typical stock tires. A couple standout tires are the EFX Motovator that is 8-ply rated and has steel belting to resist punctures. Another super tough tire is our Tusk Aramid Terrabite 10-ply rated tire. The Aramid belting is bead to bead so more sidewall protection over steel belted tires (which are heavier and typically only found in the tread, not the sidewall). Both of these tires would be improved protection than your stock tires. - Wes
Yes, the yellow mark on the sidewall is the point at which the valve stem should be mounted next to for the best balance. If there is a red mark on the tire, that indicates the point of max radial force variation/high point in the tire. Both of these marks just help whoever is installing be aware of the high and low spots on a tire to get them balanced as best as possible. Hope that helps a little bit!
Some machines will come with narrower front tires to help the steering feel light and to avoid rubbing and other ATV's can also have different size wheels on the front and rear. Most of the time it's no problem to run the same size tires all around but it can cause problems on some vehicles. What machine do you have?
I'm looking into some wheels and have stock tires (10in rears and 8in front) and the wheels i want are 7in wide will they work fine and not look really weird
Need help , I am looking for rear tyres for my quad I currently have 21-10-8 and my trailer tyres are 22-12-8 , but why are my quad tyres wider to look at
It will depend on the width of your wheels and specific machine model for how wide of a tire you can fit. You can hit the link below and enter your machine's year, make, and model to see the tires we carry that will fit and get an idea of the different sizes. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/tires-and-wheels/tires
I bought a brand new ATV and used it once in the winter. Come spring tires look seared / little cracks in the tires. Is this normal fir brand new tires?
Chase what is the tallest tire that I can install on my pioneer 500 that won,t rub . I desperately need mora clearance. Love the look of the pro armour crawlers.
Those are made specifically for a truck so they are going to be heavier, which means more rotating mass and could be pretty stressful on your clutch, so you may want to tune your clutch for those tires.
We recommend 3" as the maximum a tire should be wider than the wheel. I have seen some manufacturers go 4" over but you will want to check with the tire and wheel manufacturer.
Over inflation usually wont cause a wobble but it can make the ride a lot harsher and wear your tires unevenly. Also, I would recommend to keep a close eye on the bubble in your sidewall and replace it as soon as possible. Most sidewall bubbles are from impacts so there is a chance you bent your wheel or axle and that's where your wobble is coming from so I would check both of those too.
Im thanking of getting some EFX Tires. Not a lot of review on them. The Motovator or Motoclaw. I just want them to be DOT approved. Your help would be much appreciated.
If you would just do a review on them please. How much they weight, the actual dimensions. On road off road manners. Are they good for mud, rock, or desert, puncher resistance? Maybe even would they be good for Moab? I’m just a simple country boy who needs a good tire for hunting conditions. I like to play sometimes too though.
A good generic rule of thumb; rim width needs to be 2 inches or less (no more than 5 inches) than the tire width. So regarding tire size “22x11-8”, anything wider than a 9 inch rim or less than 6 inches would most likely cause issues.
I don't know if you already picked their tires up or not but I just wanted to say most all terrain tires do not unload very well and in muddy situations they will quickly turn into slicks
I don't think it would be to noticeable but yes, you would see a little loss there. You would gain a little more ground clearance. I would just recommend you check your clearances, just to make sure you won't have any rubbing going on.
What do you think about tire sealant that some ATV/UTV shops use? My tires current have the sealant in them and I've never had a leak despite going through some pretty trashy properties. I wonder if it throws off the balance of the tires at higher speeds.
+BuckShotAirsoft309 If your machine is stock i would check out the ITP Mud Lite series or the ITP Mayhem line up. Both models of tires provide a good footprint for those more muddy conditions. I think the 570 will perform better with a lighter mud tire than a heavier one. You don't want to overload your machine with a tire you can't push. We guarantee your stock tire size to fit. If you're looking to go bigger than stock, you'll have to measure to see just how much bigger you can go without hitting. Check out our tire selection here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/c/165/ATV-Tires

+Nicky Soliwoda Not if you're wanting to install an aftermarket FMF exhaust system on the bike.. fully modified we were into it a couple hundred +. Depends really on everything you're wanting to do to the bike that will affect the cost..
Why wouldn't a person put 15" rims on their UTV and buy truck tires, like TSL 29X9.5's? You get all the performance benefits plus, they would be street legal. The problem I see with UTV tires is, most of them are street legal. Here in Arizona we are allowed to take our UTV's on the street. If you did this you might have to buy bead lock rims and run very little air pressure but, you would still come out ahead.
The max PSI is not the maximum pressure for seating the bead! The max pressure is the maximum pressure the tire is designed to have Never mix this up as the seating pressure.

They will mount up just fine and look normal in my opinion. The sidewalls just won't look as "ballooned" out, as before.
