Collier was an American Publishing company, they were known as Crowell-Collier Publishing. The Collier name would have been on all books published by them.
When you said "this isn't a grand home".... I thought ... the grandest home is one where you feel, safe and warm and loved. And you have achieved this and more. What a blessed , lovely little family.
Oh me too, Nina! I love old homes. It’s obscene what builders want to charge for poor quality craftsmanship & materials. Your home is gorgeous & a reflection of you & your family. Thank you for being a custodian of details & history.
Collier was a publishing company. I can still remember watching jeopardy back in the day when the half time announcement would give a shout out to Collier encyclopedia for the programs information source. Your home is lovely. I too love the character of old homes ( after they get a little face lift).
She is totally adorable and likeable ! If i lived in Atlanta she would definitely be my designer !This house is so gorgeous, simply decorated and elegant.Love antiques, she has great taste ! I am sick of over the top designers with so much stuff in a room you feel suffocated. You can breathe and relax here.
Nina is just adorable, she’s so talented but also so down to earth. Not pretentious. Love how she says she doesn’t need to impress anyone and that’s an amazing statement in that industry. The home is gorgeous, timeless, and so relaxing. The dining room wallpaper and the bedroom are my favorite of all. Thanks for the tour.
I was so excited to hear that Homeworthy was going to feature Nina's home because she is one of my favorite designers. As expected her home didn't disappoint. I love her fresh traditional style.
I love this home and what they have done to it. It matches its original home intention and I think it's lovely. "Collier Publishing Company"...I recognized the name immediately when she pulled out the book. It's an old publisher and an appropriate homage to their little son.
Love, love the foyer dresser and tea caddy boxes with the gold mirror. Sets the tone for the rest of her style. The long patterned curtains make all the spaces so unique. When she showed the Collier book spine in the sun room... It reminded me ... I am 72 years old... and we had the Collier set of encyclopedias in the 1950s. It was quite an investment for my parents, but they felt it was important to us 3 girls back then.
It’s weird but as a Brit I’m looking at this and seeing all the bog standard living rooms and materials I saw growing up, including the houses I lived in.
Nina Long has a beautiful 1938 home. Baby Collier is too cute!!! I love the architecture of the house- the dining room, the baby's room and the fireplace in her living room. She states it is the original 1938 mantel on the fire place. I love it!!! And the dining room walls- is that wall paper or a mural wrapped around her walls??? It is georgeous. The Collier Encyclopedia definitely brought up memories. We had encyclopedias in our home when I was a little girl. The encyclopedias helped us do our homework. Thanks for sharing Nina's beautiful home.
That precious little boy so adorable 😀 and I love the way she took the painting off the wall and actually showed up how old and beautiful it is first time I think I have seen someone do that on this channel 👏🏾🔥👏🏾
Collier was a publishing company, thus the name on the spine. I remember growing up with Collier encyclopedias. By the way, great color blue on those books!
Your fabric choices are just beautiful! So refreshing to see a home that is not farmhouse with gray walls and distressed furniture. I love the touches of rust that are in the first floor and the blues and greens that are upstairs. A lovely home all around.
I just love traditional design! Thank you, Nina for sharing your home. Your home is beautiful and so is your family! I hope you have many wonderful years there.
Beautifully designed old traditional styled home, well done. I still continue to be amazed at the use of ums by these younger designers in their presentations. It distracts from their wonderful designs.
OCD NEVER WORKS WELL. I’m not one to be obnoxious and point out things like this. However, my brother had OCD and is no longer with us due to suicide. OCD is miserable and it takes and takes and takes. It takes from everyone in that persons life as well. I just wish everyone would use more appropriate words. Perhaps…particular, neat freaks, organized, stickler….. Also, this isn’t a PC siren either. Just an awareness call. ❤☺️✌🏼 Your home is truly lovely. Your clients are lucky to have you close by!
I’m so sorry for the loss of your brother. Many people use words that can cut deeply, but they would be mortified if they knew the impact. Grace is a lovely gift to give to others. ❤
There are levels of OCD.... to some it is a mild disturbance, to others it is debilitating. You don't own words, nor do you know anything about her life or her issues. This is just a relaxing show about decorating and stuff... if you are so easily triggered, stay off the internet.
The sunroom is just gorgeous!! I think black and white flooring would have still been terrific but I love all you did with it, especially the blue ceiling 😍
You have a gracious and welcoming home. I love the cozier, more intimate entryway instead of the grand staircase. Your decor is timeless and comfortable.
Your home is beautiful, so personal and the color palette is perfect, in my opinion. I could move in and not change a thing. Love older homes as you do. Well done!
Absolutely charming! Love your classic home & decor, especially the mural in the diningroom. Totally agree that new built homes cannot compare with depth of character of a home that has a past. ❤️❤️❤️
Well done. I live in a 1928 house - I love it so much. We did a big reno - opened the kitchen, etc - but also kept the master batch not huge - but all the materials high end - and it's dreamy. You can do more with high end materials when you don't need so much of them...
I started to collect antique oil paintings about 20 years ago. I prefer them frameless as antique frames tend to be too overwhelming and draw attention away from paintings themselves. I like oil landscape paintings as well but I also have some still life paintings.
Beautiful home, Nina! Thank you for showing us your personal tastes in decorating! I especially love your beautiful dining room with the mural wallpaper and coordinating paint!
I love the area that you live in. It’s such a sweet area of Atlanta beautiful homes, beautiful landscapes and beautiful people. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us…sending hugs, prayers, and kindness.❤
The Collier on your books was the publishing company. Collier put out an encyclopedia that was popular. I love the name for your son. It's a strong man's name.
Very charming and delightful! Great colors and patterns. I love the scale of the rooms, particularly the kitchen. If I lived in the Atlanta area, I would hire her!
I love this home❤everything about it so warm, charming and comfortable. I love your curtain choices; the fabric and the print on them, especially the sunroom. Beautiful home, tastefully done.🎉🎉 I also like those six oyster plates that are hanging on the wall ..
I love anything Made by the Schumacher’s name because it usually indicates good quality items, whether it’s the beautiful natural scenery of your wall paper in your dinning room, the drapes throughout the living room, sunroom. I believe that by viewing your beautiful Home it does shows how proud you’re of your home and of being able to have and being a designer. Collier, McMillan was one of my first encyclopedias my dad bought to me when I was a child. Mrs. Long has gifted to you a very valuable text(s), that in fifty years from now will valued even much more. Enjoy your beautiful home, because I did and thank you madam for sharing your esthetics designs 🙏
I’m interior designer and I would like to say that I really loved every detail in your house 🌹 the color scheme is so unique and elegant 🌹 I also loved that you followed your heart to implement every piece 😍 Please I need the link for the wallpaper company 🙏
I've never felt more seen than when she said this "I love opening the windows....because I burn things a lot." hahaha- same. my window is so hard to open and every time it gets too smoky, I curse them!
You’ve created absolute magic in your home🥂 You have skills, talent and sophistication beyond your years Nina. You are already in league with “The Greats”🤩 Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us🌞
Crazy I used to make a floor plans in the woods too. I used pines needles n sticks to build the walls. One time made a stone pathway to the front door.
One of my favorite episodes! Had to watch it more than once. And those English print drapes! I’ve been scouring the web to find the fabric. Wish me luck.
Every corner of your amazing home is impeccable! You and your hubby should be very proud of the warm & inviting home you have created for your yourselves & son Collier 💞
Love what you have done in your home! Just fyi, the pic over your sofa probably isn't from 1960 as Mick Jaggar would only have been 17 yrs old then. I looked it up and one source said 1968. Us oldies would notice that! Cheers Nancy
Collier was the publishing company for the books. Thus the reason the books bear the name on the spine.
She's new to books, she doesn't know about publishers yet. Bless her lil heart❤
@@jennyharmony1371I was a bookseller for 40 years. Our culture is dead.
@@jennyharmony1371 yeah, I was a little embarrassed for her about that. I wonder why they didn't edit that out?
@@rmonson5002 Because she was probably a pain to work with and that was their somewhat subtle revenge? 😆
@@epluribusunum1460 Absolutely and it's devastating. No one even understands the basics anymore. It's a tragedy. Books are just decor now.
Collier was an American Publishing company, they were known as Crowell-Collier Publishing. The Collier name would have been on all books published by them.
This is the comment I was going to share. I love that she named her son that as well.❤
Yup. Grew up with a lot of books published by Collier.

Please don’t ask me why this channel makes me happy 💚
I could not agree more.
Me, too!!😉
It must be all the beautiful and unique homes
Older homes have so much character. Elegant, love it

Nina's home is exquisite. She clearly puts a lot of thought into her decorating decisions.

I was deeply moved💚🙏🌳🎶 Thank you, Nina‼︎
Collier Publishing is a old publisher established in 1877. Hence the name on the blue books.
I love your home and I so enjoyed the fact that is not a Mc mansion house. I can relate to your home and it is beautifully designed. Warm and homey.
I would love to see more homes like this that are gorgeous and not ginormous.
This is a beautiful, realistic traditional home for the new generation .
The choice of fabrics and wallpaper are very nice and go so well with the age and style of the house.
A lot of people would have been scared off by those before photos but she clearly had a vision and it turned out beautiful.
This is such a beautiful and a cozy and traditional home. The host is very vivacious and happy.
It’s weird but as a Brit I’m looking at this and seeing all the bog standard living rooms and materials I saw growing up, including the houses I lived in.

This is the most beautiful home I’ve ever seen.
I love the quiet simplicity of her home. Not overrun with nick-knacks.
This house is stunning and totally my style. I was very inspired. Thank you for sharing this lovely home.
I just love traditional design! Thank you, Nina for sharing your home. Your home is beautiful and so is your family! I hope you have many wonderful years there.

Lovely, just lovely. Very cozy and elegant but feels like a real home.
I have really enjoyed this tour. The owner is such a sweet person and her taste is outstanding!!!! Loved ever room and it felt so homey!

The name Collier on the book spines may refer to the book publisher. Check out the title pages.
I too love old houses.
I absolutely love this home and Nina's style. If I lived in Atlanta I would hire her in a second.
I could not love this house and the decor more….it is warm, welcoming, curated, really perfection. Thank you for sharing ❤.
Collier was a publishing company. Among its publications was "Collier's" magazine.
What a beautiful home and lovely hostess. Thank you so much for sharing with us. Have fun starting your clock collection.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous home. I loved everything about it. I love the way she furnished it and decorated it. One of my favorite tours.
Your home is beautiful, so personal and the color palette is perfect, in my opinion. I could move in and not change a thing. Love older homes as you do. Well done!
Polished and tailored. Just beautiful!
I’m obsessed with super large windows over kitchen sinks. I also think the dining room wallpaper is so beautiful. Good job!
Not my style but very well done. The house has a warmth to it, enveloping you as you come in. Kudos to Nina Long.
"Collier" is a well known book publishing company. FYI for the homeowner wondering about the "connection" between the books and her son's name.
She has great taste and style ... I love everything about this home.
Absolutely charming! Love your classic home & decor, especially the mural in the diningroom. Totally agree that new built homes cannot compare with depth of character of a home that has a past. ❤️❤️❤️

I loved everything about her home. I sure do wish she would have disclosed that Farrow and Ball color in her dining though.
I think it might be DeNimes, I used it in a few rooms and it's an amazing shade.
I wanted to know what color she I used in the kitchen. I wondered if it was Farrow and Ball ammonite. All he pain choices were perfect!
I particularly adored the shade of Blue Nina chose for her Sun Room. That was an utterly ethereal, elegant, and pacifying Blue.
Love, love, love this home! So beautifully appointed.
Collier on the blue books refers to the publishing house of Collier ♡
This is one that I want to watch again. I, too, love English style and textiles…used in a fresh way. Love!
The house has a lot of simple charm.
Sweet homeowner. I love this home. Beautiful
I started to collect antique oil paintings about 20 years ago. I prefer them frameless as antique frames tend to be too overwhelming and draw attention away from paintings themselves. I like oil landscape paintings as well but I also have some still life paintings.
In 1910, Collier began printing The Harvard Classics in a limited quantity set called the Renaissance edition.
Beautiful home, Nina! Thank you for showing us your personal tastes in decorating! I especially love your beautiful dining room with the mural wallpaper and coordinating paint!
What a great home.. you really did it justice with the updates and renovations. One of my favorites.
Love everything about this home, especially the dining room wallpaper. Congratulations, Nina, would love to see all your other works as well.
A beautiful, warm home. Thank you for allowing us to see it.
I think the kitchen is the perfect size! Too big and you’re just adding steps to cook or clean. Your house is just beautiful, Nina.

9 out of 10 times he loves it. Husband’s thought bubble “I don’t care honey, you do a great job. Whatever you want”.
It’s a beautiful house with such care to detail. Lovely.

Just BEAUTIFUL!!!! Love all the drapes. Very cozy!
That wonderful intricate art work in the baby's room is amazing, bet the little boy loves looking at that.
Crazy I used to make a floor plans in the woods too. I used pines needles n sticks to build the walls. One time made a stone pathway to the front door.
One of my favorite episodes! Had to watch it more than once.
