I have one of these in our RV, have it hooked to an amplified set of old computer speakers mounted in a nice wooden case I built for the entire outfit. I use the USB to supply music via a jump drive, never gave any thought, I guess to using the USB to charge my cell phone, as I have a nice charging station I built using a massive 12v to 5v step down transformer and a 10 output USB stick each USB port switchable. I had to go into the stick and rewire it to handle the amperage so each can furnish 2 AMP output if required, although most of my USB things are quite happy with around 1 amp to charge. The unit is quite nice though, mine is a few years old now and still going strong. This allows me to have a nice radio in the front of our motor home without having to strain the starting battery, as it runs off the house batteries which are topped off when we are hooked to shore power, which we usually are when hiding down south come winter.
you can get the same one with Bluetooth as well, i used one to make an mp3 player and to be honest the sound is not bad at all. and its small and cheap to so if you bugger it up you can get a new one for cheap. one more thing some of them are 12v to so they have a voltage regulator on bord.
I got a model with bluetooth. But it has a lot worse FM reception. As I investigated with an AM radio -which is naturally sensitive to any sort of electromagnetic fluctuations rather than letting us listen to something meaningful at all- I get a terrible interference when the circuit is seeking for bluetooth devices. I read THE SAME interference when I set the circuit to FM Mode. Bluetooth does involve a job that uses FM reception, but in UHF range. As it turns out, the circuit is seeking further for Bluetooth devices even when it's set to FM mode, and the bluetooth carrier beats with whatever FM carrier would I seek for, generating random noises and muddying up the whole reception. Also, FM Radios does not interfere with each other.
Great vid man thanks for posting this.. I ordered the 5v version of this from ebay for $4.79USD and connected it to a PAM8403 3watt 2 channel mini amp i got for $0.75USD also from eaby to the 5v side of a 4pin molex connector from my computers power supply and it works awesome !! The best part is the MP3/bluetooth is mounted to the face of the computer and the amp is mounted internaly to the computers case and i mounted speaker conectors at the back of the case and run about 8ft of speaker wire to some kinda large yamaha 3 way house speakers and that PAM8403 powers the speakers with no issues what so ever and sounds very nicee. The nice thing about this is no matter where the computer is its got a MP3/Bluetooth/FM radio with an amp that doesnt require an extra power source that can drive any non amplifed speakers you can find since the PAM8403's speaker Ohms range is from 4 to 16 ohms. The same thing can be done with the 12v version and a PAM8410 mini amp and can be wired to the 12v side of a computers molex and mounted internally in a compter or put in a external box and powered with a 12v power supply
Looks quite nice a lot of people are installing these types of thing into vintage vintage radios although people are moving onto FM blue tooth module. You cannot argue about the low cost and the LED display is nice. Thanks for sharing regards Chris
Excellent review Kris thank you. Quick tip...I always tie a knot in the power lead when the leads are the same length so that it separates the positive and negative avoiding unintentional shorts . Its also provides a quick visual cue as to which lead is the positive when making temporary connections. In the car you could use the cigar lighter socket with a 5v adaptor plug and cable wired to the MP3 module. I am thinking about fixing mine in the armrest box where I have a 12v cigar socket fitted to charge mobiles
You weren't rambling. You were giving your honest opinion about a cheap Chinese kit and that's why many of us watched the video. What I'd like to know is how many amps it needs? Cheers m8
I have this radio to. Is it possible to add extra volume buttons. or a volume knob? I find it annoying to hold the forward button to increase the volume.
Sorry for commenting on this old video, but I have low aux volume using my phone in my cars stereo. If I use this kind of board and connect it to aux in my car, will thst aux sound be amplified?
I am using this module in car conected with aux to car player , works great but have an inconvinient , when start dosen't memorize the last settings like volume , last song on micro SD etc.
Hey I just want to know if this send out aux signal out without any amplification(i know its amplifier -i mean preamplification,I wish it won't).can u test it for me?
I have bought a similar product off the aliexpress, looks almost identical to what's on the photo. It plays FLAC which is a big plus point but there is no "RANDOM" track play, if anyone knows how to switch on the RANDOM track play. Please be kind enough to let me know.
i just got one simaller to this one but mine does not have blue tooth, but mine has a buzzing when using the radio, can how would I fix this if you know?
can you switch inputs without the remote? how does it work? say I have a usb stick in the usb, a tf card in the the slot and an mp3 player hooked up to AUX in, how do I toggle what goes out the output jack?

Thanks for the cool review and links, brother! This would make a pretty fun shop radio/player. I use Aliexpress a lot and your reviews have been interesting, fun and informative. Keep up the great work!
Nice to see this module demonstrated in English. How do you rate the audio fidelity - is it pretty much distortion free? Can it play MP3s at any stream rate i.e up to 350Mb/s but even better if it can play 24bit WAVs? I have been looking for a cheap but good file player to use as a front end with some of my general audio systems and this unit seems (potentially) ideal?
Thanks for the review. I just got a similar module (marked JTV-CAV-1.1), and while the FM receiver puts out proper stereo, MP3 and WAV files on both an SD card and USB stick play only in mono. Do you see this with your module?
Hi sir can you please help me how to connect 5v and gnd in music system... When I look I see 5v in PCB but I don't know which point to connect... And also the three wires of audio too plz reply... I hope you understand what I told thank you Sir
Thank you for your extensive tutorial video. A quick question, I plan on wiring this into a USB powered suitcase turntable as an additional media player. Could I power this from a 5V USB cable? Please let me know when you can. Many thanks once again.
Hi. I got this one (or it looks super similar) and I got myself a TPA3110 XH-A232 amplier board. Both a super cheap. I assumed it was with out amplification thats why I go the TPA3110 XH-A232 board. But when connectin left and right it is on maximum volume super super loud. So I thought maybe it is amplified. But now I am confused again. Apparently I need somthing else? But That would give me dual volumes? one on the mp3 bt fm decoder and extra to the amplifier? that's weird?
Hi! I wish to connect this module to a small valve pre-amplifier that I found on aliexpress. The first time that I connected the module to the 5V works. I tried connecting the output plug of the module to the input of my amplifier. Result MP3 car module dead. Have I to use the AUX plug on the front? tnx so much.
You have to allow the radio to scan all stations. Once its done, all the available stations are saved and can be selected using the buttons labelled vol- and vol+. Yes, the volume buttons serve as station and volume selection.
HI, i just want to ask you, I have a mp3/fm radio module like that with different models. at the power input on the board iit written "+9v/5v", so I think it can be connected to the powerbank/phone charger, but suprisingly no effect.. But when I connect to 9v batteries, it can turned on. So what does "+9v/5v" mean? sorry for my bad english :D
I know this is old now Kris but did you ever log the current draw of this device when used as a music player/FM radio? There are lots of these on eBay now (some 5V and some 12V supply) and one of the ads for a 5V version (looks identical to this one) says "Working current: 1500mA"!
Yay finally someone with a voice.

Funny I was looking this up to install in my watch shop! Wanted to see a review thanks.
Does it reset every time if you turn the car on and off?
Because i see only a cable for + and - no ignition ?

Awesome. Great video
Thanks 👍
when input 5V my devices turns on and remain on for 4-5 second and thn turns off why can you help?

I have this radio to.
Is it possible to add extra volume buttons. or a volume knob?
I find it annoying to hold the forward button to increase the volume.
I'm thinking of many modding ideas with this device. What kind of boombox can I make with it.
I got one similar and the display only half works 5v-12v
How do i make it play truck from where it left off when i turned it off... not starting it allover
Sorry for commenting on this old video, but I have low aux volume using my phone in my cars stereo. If I use this kind of board and connect it to aux in my car, will thst aux sound be amplified?
Why does this module has very low fm reception?
I am using this module in car conected with aux to car player , works great but have an inconvinient , when start dosen't memorize the last settings like volume , last song on micro SD etc.
You Need to find live wire while car is turned off with keys removed. Use a voltmeter and tap into a wire in the fuse box
What is the price of this cheap Bluetooth panel & from where I can buy it? please tell
As he said within the first 15 seconds of the video; £1.20 from AliExpress.
Hey I just want to know if this send out aux signal out without any amplification(i know its amplifier -i mean preamplification,I wish it won't).can u test it for me?
correct it sends out a line level signal , you need a power amp , but no preamp is necessary .
I have bought a similar product off the aliexpress, looks almost identical to what's on the photo. It plays FLAC which is a big plus point but there is no "RANDOM" track play, if anyone knows how to switch on the RANDOM track play. Please be kind enough to let me know.
can i change the sound example, when touch mode, Bluetooth mode, line in mode, fm mode?
hi great vid ...does the USB port play music ?
i just got one simaller to this one but mine does not have blue tooth, but mine has a buzzing when using the radio, can how would I fix this if you know?
anyone found how to turn it on or off (withoute remote)
onboard buttons dont do anything
can you switch inputs without the remote? how does it work? say I have a usb stick in the usb, a tf card in the the slot and an mp3 player hooked up to AUX in, how do I toggle what goes out the output jack?

Good video, looking to build a compact music player for a small boat, add an amp and a couple of speakers, 12v to 5v converter and your away
Hello, question?....will the mp3 player play as soon as power it applied. or does one need to "push play"???
There is no on/off switch, so yes, once power is applied it starts to play.

It runs on 3 to 5 volts. You have to make adapters.
Can I use it with car radio that have code

Does it play wav files or only mp3?
Has anyone found a good way to gain better FM reception without an amplifier?
im looking how to get better reception too, I'm experimenting hooking up different antennas
Can you remove the FM from it
I got a loud buzzing noise in fm mode. Both external amp and mp3 decoder powered by same powerbank 5v. Please help. thanks
+Win7ultimateUser it's likely the power bank's circuitry that is generating the noise...have you tried another power source?
Kris Cochrane yes, 2 different powerbanks, 2 usb chargers and my PC. All the same loud buzzing noise. :(
I think you habe a probleme with a ground loop.
TF Radio MP3 Decoder Board how to save tuned stations?
You have to allow the radio to scan all stations. Once its done, all the available stations are saved and can be selected using the buttons labelled vol- and vol+. Yes, the volume buttons serve as station and volume selection.

sorry for my bad english :D
It could possibly refer to the 5v output of the USB port.
Hai man , Please help I want to know if this support folder switching in usb mode???
Yes, reading USB flash
Nope, it`s a very cheap device.
@@juraassem9035 I have one and it reads through the folders. It plays the songs in the order you save them. It will remember where you left off.
hey i heard that it provides bad sound quality.. what do you think about the quality?
did some test with some other mp3 players and i cant tell the difference and i have good ears.
nice day please you can install it on the radio Delco CDR 500 D 2F4 Thank you
how would I find the ro gnd lo
Someone in the comments knows any way to deactivate the FM radio completly?
Build in BRAZIL?
Is this big clive?
Nope! haha!
Sir please let me know how to installation to in car
This is good a amplifier ?
If you use speakers with their own amp ,do you need a pre amp too ,or just the amplified speakers, also where did you get your and speakers
no
I know this is old now Kris but did you ever log the current draw of this device when used as a music player/FM radio? There are lots of these on eBay now (some 5V and some 12V supply) and one of the ads for a 5V version (looks identical to this one) says "Working current: 1500mA"!
+standishgeezer I didn't but I'll do it for you when I get back home.
+Kris Cochrane Cheers.
It`s consume around 100 mA or less. I checked with my power supply.
its true well mine was drawing around 90 MA but 1500mA is a bit excessive hahah
12-volt ones are usually with Blue tooth.
The volume control works on the AUX input?
Yessss
Hi. Thank you for the review. Can this module transmit audio on FM? In other words, can it be used as MP3->FM transmitter? Thanks.
Nope.
can these play random tracks rather than skipping through?
Yes. it´s can.
Did the white wires come with the radio
Ron Thompson yes
Dats sheet ? model ? some code ?
Does it record audio?
NMTCG nope
apparently the version with full SD (not micro SD as the one in the video) should record as well thank you
Impossible.
be nice if it did.
what power supply this needs?
Hemant More Hi, it just needs a 5v PSU. The USB socket can supply 1A so 1500ma/1.5A would be more than enough.
thank you
Plenty of 12v modules available on aliexpress so no need even to invest in a regulator. Madness!
These have a 5 volt regulator on board so you can use power supply max. 35 volts.
Finally english speaking!
Nice
Mine ia dead after first start
Sou ds nice!
Omg it's a miracle you not Indian
battery 9 volt
