Crazy Town and Winona (by Drop Nineteens) are the best videos ever made. I Remember watching and rewind this over, and over and over on VHS. Such a magical feeling every time I watch it. I'm just waiting for Sup Pop to reissue Simpatico! on vinyl: I hope this is the logical step after reissuing Copacetic.
Finally a high quality version of the video! I had only ever seen an old upload before that was a pixelated mess. I also find the mix on this track far superior compared to its original form.
Growing up as a skinny Asian kid in a tiny podunk town of mostly white people, I remember listening to _Copacetic_ on repeat and feeling an overwhelming sense of comfort in Velocity Girl's music. Its introspective, yet exuberant lyrics, immersive, shoe-gaze distortion like a warm, velvety blanket of sound, and, most of all, Sarah's sublime, mellifluous voice peeking out in its own sliver of frequency, gasping for air in an ocean of fuzz - all of these amazing elements expanded my sonic world and left me dreaming of the world outside the suffocating boundaries of suburbia. Now a few decades later, Velocity Girl's music still feels exuberant and youthful, and now tinged with nostalgia for a time that felt simpler, more innocent and full of possibility.
So, ngl, never heard this song before. And my immediate thought watching it was "The answer to what if 2024 was trying to be 1993" not knowing this is just an actual song from 1993🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Velocity Girl and Lush were my favorite bands of the 90s - thanks for re-releasing this!
I see myself rewinding a cassette tape with a pen through the streets and happy to hear this work for the first time for the second time
It looks like a video clip you watched at 3am on MTV in the 90s and you never see it again (and you don't remember the name of the band). Love it!
Well that's pretty much what Velocity Girl was lol as talented as they were
ultracopacetic!
Any album by Velocity Girl was a good one. 🙂❤️
Nice! We’re bringing back the classics :)

Feels a hole lot like the 90s are back
It's true. I feel Gen Z is bringing it back and remaking it (though also older gens are rediscovering good songwriting in rock music
Now we just need the promotion and maybe rock music can actually live again instead of being milked to death by industry execs... :'(
@@ReadyMindsetGo I think the cool music gene skipped a couple of generations
A time capsule opened here from a period when America was really, really charming
So many good memories. Thank you for putting this out there. I think I'm going to get the Simparico cassette out and listen to it
Fuck i miss the 90s. Well the first 2/3 of it anyway
What was wrong with the last 1/3rd?

Superdrag’s brilliant “Head Trip in Every Key” was released in 1998. There’s some good stuff from the final third.
@@nathandavidhallfuck u; third eye blind did great
@@fritzstammen4535 Boys Bands and Teen Pop dominated radio at that point.

You just don’t get it. You keep it ultra copacetic.
Its not The Fluid but at least my elderly ass recognizes it.
