Lived in Laos many years now so I should know where to get the cheapest imported groceries in the capital of Laos, Vientiane.. Plus we go gas BBQ shopping in preparation for our upcoming trip.

Hi Todd, Neenee and Mina, I have one of those camping gas stoves that we keep up at our bit of land so that we can have a cup of coffee whilst we are there. Do yourself a favour and get a good camping kettle for your hot drinks or even pot noodles etc, as they heat up very quickly. Mina's English, or should I say Australian as she has the same intonation as you, is excellent, and gets better all the time. Looking forward to your trip as I am sure that you are. I like the vehicle upgrades which are necessary since you guys drive around a lot, and the roads are not always paved. Keep on trucking, and from your videos we are observing the urbanization of Laos. We hope growth is peaceful and prosperous for the people.
I have used the butane stoves for many years and mostly have had no issues.The only issues have been with the O ring seals,they get old and crack which allows a gas leak.Also do not use a bbq plate or shabu plate as excessive heat can be directed downwards and can cause the butane can to explode.I have found fry pans and not to large pots to be ok.

Just a safety note as a camping fanatic. Those gas bottles will occasionally seep gas,,so ,,id store them on the roof or somewhere else when you guys are sleeping in there ❤
RUclipsr Overstay road recommended a burner with optional can or propane tank install for both mobile and semi permanent use. Mina's word at the super market Broccoli is a green veggie similar but different to the white colored Cauliflower. Never had?

5:00 Can of gas in Philippines is about $1.65 USD ($0.80 in Laos). The burner however about $10 in PH, $50 in Laos but the quality is probably a big part of the difference I assume.

I know what you mean. I can always tell when my supermarket moves things around. I still write a shopping list in aisle order. Yeah cheese is now very expensive in Sydney and in Thailand. I never thought that it would become a luxury item. In saying that, groceries have gone up considerably and I've notice that it's just not me looking at the price tags and looking for the specials. Cheese still cheaper there than here in OZ mate. You wouldn’t think we had cows or dairies in the country.
Makes me sick how expensive EVERYTHING is here now.
A pack of 4 gas cans in OZ is $4,50 in OZ , K Mart
Hi Todd, talking food here, can you buy meat pies, pasties, sausage rolls and crumpets in Lao, you know all the normal healthy staples a man needs to tame the roaring lion. I also noticed the generic labelled Baked Beans looks very similar to what is available on our supermarket shelves, they're actually produced and canned in Italy and the quality and taste is in fact on par or if not better than Heinz at half the price. Looking forward to the next "not a review video" 🚘🚙 😂
Just in addition, I normally melt cheese on my broccoli the same way I do with cauliflower, so Mina's has learnt how to eat her greens. 😂
The pies, sausage rolls, crumpets I have seen, not so sure about the pasties though. But i have seen a type of street food you may like and is pretty close to a pastie.. they're the same shape, only about quarter of the size with a bit of meat and veg in them. If you see them here be sure to try. Guaranteed you will like them if you enjoy pies and pasties👌 Can even get them out in the sticks! 😉👍

Ouch! Almost everything in Laos is way more expensive than in the USA. That little girl, is she your daughter? She's so cute.
Anything that is imported.. yes. Adopted daughter, yes. Go back about 12 months in my videos and you'll see the story of the little girl the grandmother wanted us to take.

Less is more. I learn much from your videos. It seems to me that the traffic is more civilized than Thailand. Maybe because the population densities or that the Laos people are more laid back.
