Y'all are making me miss Florida. But it's getting better around the Chesapeake now, finally. A few flounder are here. We have plenty of docks to fish on my kayak, I have to get better at that.
Glad to see that the bite is picking back up in Chesapeake!
I would try a slip bobber with live or cut bait so the lure could stay under the dock longer

Trust me snook will swim out from under the dock and hit the lure and it don't need to be weedless. I only fish non-weedless jig heads and cast no closer than 5 feet from structure and have seen my hook ups sky rocket and my time retying has plummeted. Since using Slayer Lures my fishing has improved 100%
Agree to disagree... Yes, sometimes you can luck out and get a fish to swim from under the dock if the lure is close enough. But it would be really tough to argue that a hook-up ratio would increase by casting farther away from where the fish are. And unless you're fishing docks with zero structure under them (which usually do NOT hold many fish), weedless is the way to go.
P.S. - you need to try The Prawn with Dr. Juice Saltwater Slam on it. You'll never use any other shrimp lure after you do.
