close the blinds, turn out the lights and shut then lock the door. metallica perfected metal in 1988. this riff(the entire section 3:20 to 5:50) is heavy as fuck. the solo blazes but hands down is when they harmonize and play the rhythm together. this particular riff never.gets.old. and the louder you listen, the better it is
the "demo" version of this thing is just insane, james slowed it down and change a few things probably because it would be impossible to repiclate perfectly

Frayed Ends of Sanity is underrated. I think it's because of the repetitive structure of the song, it became boring after the 11th repetition of the same riff, lol.
repetitve structure is necessary here because it drives home how hard these riffs hit, its like the truck keeps hitting you over and over. not backing over you, just running into you time and time again
