The problem is that Overhaul has a great understanding of human anatomy and molecular, which is why he is able to use his quirk so versatility, similar to Yaoyorozu’s quirk, which is to complicated for All For One to use effectively, which is likely why he didn’t take it, it would just be adding a quirk he couldn’t use.
same reason he didn't take jeanist 's it simple to use and can be op but the handwork it took to raise it to be op like jeanist is not in what he likes he likes simple quirks that are op with simple use not having to think about how to use them
It's only complicated if you want to re-assemble people the way they were. It doesn't take knowledge to destroy things. Also, i think people are wayy underestimating how smart all for one is. You're telling me that a guy who lived for hundreds of years doesn't know basic human anatomy that a 20 year old who never even went to med school does? He doesn't have to be a surgeon he just needs to know how bodies work which is something anyone can learn. With the time he had he should be pretty good in a lot of fields.
Kai was a medical expert or atleast had intense knowledge of it. His quirk is more like Momo’s where knowing the structure and how to put something together and apart benefits how well it turns out. Which is why blowing something apart is east but rewinding it back is tricky/energy consuming/difficult. And it could be that the quirk is hand eye coordination as Kai wears gloves and can choose not to use it or to use it. Meanwhile shigaraki’s quirk can be activated at first his hands but then any part of his body. And things like objects being sterile or objects having impurities might be more of an issue with recreating something absolutely correctly vs putting things back together and it becoming a Cronenberg fly senario. It might be seen as a nervous tick from the man but might be an actual concern with effectiveness of the quirk
Everyone keep in mind, AFO pretty much tells us that he doesn't like taking complex quirks because of the time and knowledge needed to make good use of them. He takes quirks, not the knowledge learned by the original wielder for the quirk pre-yoink. Garaki also states that according to his Quirk D-Day theory, quirks get more powerful and complex as generations mix genetic materials down the line. Most of AFO's quirks were acquired as he rose to 'power' in his start-up years, which would be considerably simpler than current time quirks to master. So why take something so tedious to learn, when you can mash together simpler, easier to control quirks to attack on a similar level?
becouse overhauls quirck can literaly heal his face and evolve his body into something like almights. no need for shigarakis body to have a mutating body anymire
@@louzo5175But Overhaul can only do that due to his expertise in medical science. AfO wouldn't want to spend time studying medicine since one of his major flaws is impatience. Even if an awakened quirk is within his grasp, if it isn't intuitive to use, he loses interest fast.
i didnt know this. i havent really watchec my hero academia religiously. makes total sense, cant use a power u have no idea of using at its full potential.
@@relic5752 Love how the one of the reason AFO doesn't want an overpowered ability is because he's too lazy to learn biology to use it to is fullest potential
The reason overhaul is so busted for kai is because he actually trained with the quirk and is extremely knowledgeable which allows him to use such a complex ability with such high efficiency. Also AFO doesn't like complex quirks and prefers to just take simple and broken ones
Also in Both instances he would not have had the time to learn how to use them properly because with Jeanist he had his fight with allmight right after and with overhaul it was right in the middle of a war
@@christopherj8451 yeah if it was before AFO had gotten beaten in the fight that killed All Might then he could have trained both of them to a point where they would be useful
@@christopherj8451 he doesnt have to use them or at least jeanists. He could have taken the quirks of all the heroes there just to inconvince them. He's a dumbass. Find him bring him to his location with goo warp give him overhaul and have him fix his body. It is literally that fucking easy. Horei is a bad writer and All For One is a dumbass.
To simplify what others have been saying: Overhaul's quirk requires a good understanding and great knowledge of the thing it takes apart (or rebuilds), AFO doesn't like complex quirks like this because he cries when he has to put in effort (not literally of course) because he doesn't want to take the time to learn how to use it and how to use it effectively.
To further simplify what others have been saying: “Guys there’s no in story reason for him not taking Overhaul so let’s just make up a somewhat plausible, but ultimately still fanon explanation that everyone will buy” If anyone can find the source of Overhaul being a complex quirk that’d be nice. Otherwise it’s all just conjecture
And how about - take it, seal it and never use it? The real reason - mangaka leaves a ways to ending he wants. No logic behind characters, but author and his plot.
TBH, I'm seeing Chisaki regaining his hands again by Eri. I remember deku asking him to apologize to Eri and he will let to see his boss. Chisaki will surely join the battle soon. We might see him fighting and helping Deku, Oraraka or even Almight. We might see Almight + Chisaki + Stain VS AFO
@@sephadmiral6842With his quirk and medical knowledge Kai would actually make an incredible doctor because good healing quirks are so rare. If Eri does give him his hands back, I can totally see him promising her that "he'll do no more harm with them".
I feel like that’s a quirk that takes serious knowledge and control to use greatly. Only problem with Chisaki was that he relied to much on this powerful quirk and didn’t really learn how to fight.
I know the answer is probably for plot reasons, but I like to think that there were two other possibilities. 1) He saw Nagant dragging him around for some reason, and didn't want her to refuse his offer of finding Deku since he didn't know the relationship between the two, or 2) since One For All is planning on taking Shigaraki's body, he wanted to save that quirk for later so Shigaraki could take it.
AFO has stated he doesn't like taking Quirks that are a huge time investment in order to learn and master. Overhaul is one such Quirk, cause the only reason its User is able to use it so effectively is cause he's knowledgeable in Biological and Chemical Science, meaning its easy for him to take things apart and put them back together cause he knows how to do it properly. Give Overhaul to someone else, and they might be able to make things explode easily, but putting things back together would probably lead to some cursed results
Honestly, I agree on this, I don't understand why he didn't take the quirk, It's like a more overpowered version of decay, but more instantaneous and offers more abilities defensively and medically. I guess he didn't know ? I mean when he was in tartarus he probably didn't know about Overhaul and maybe he just thought he's some lowly criminal ? Just a thought though.
The ability will not work because of eri reset quirk ability since everytime he would use it to heal to alters his body it would just reset anyway so he did not need the healing factor and can’t use the strength version to fuse with anything beacuse it would reset it was just be annoying and worthless
A year later after the ending of the series and now we know AFO really did have overhauls quirk since it was the base used to make Decay. He didn't want it for himself but he definitely out it to good use.
He didnt forget. It would be dumb to take his quirk when hes trying to convince Lady Nagant to join him. If he took his quirk she would be alot less likely to join him. Like imagine if after telling nagant that hes a victim of hero society ofa takes his quirk. She probably wouldnt accept the job.
Why would he even need her if he could just one tap anyone and even fix himself up. Besides he could have done it at any time in secret after he convinced her
@@MB-eh2kpAt that point afo goal was to try to exhaust deku and take his quirk while shigaraki recovered and became comeplete. I feel like overhaul wasn't used to the proper extent he should've. His quirk is too op it would've been nice if he could see his mistakes and ask eri to rewind him and have him help the heroes.
He reformed his broken arms before. It's the law of equivalent exchange. Unfortunately, both of his arms are cemetery gone. There's nothing to form back.
As much as this video makes sense, I have to point out one crucial detail. AFO takes quirks that are strong through raw power. He doesn’t want quirks that require years of training to master or quirks that require focus in order to be used properly. That’s why he didn’t take overhaul. A quirk that can disassemble and reassemble molecular bonds in any way the user sees fit probably requires both of the caveats that I mentioned plus the fact that he would have to know the structure of the target to a molecular level if he wanted to reassemble them. Also, I’m pretty sure that like gentle and nagant, overhaul is gonna help the heroes in this final war. I’m not sure how, but I’m fairly certain that he will be involved. Maybe eri rewinded his arms back and he’s gonna help one of the hero teams that we haven’t focused on yet.
Everyone just completely forgot that Shigaraki used one of the quirk erasing bullets on him when he took them, he even called him helpless and *quirkless*
Nah he didn’t use one of the bullets on him he just severed his arms and his quirk requires his arms to be used that’s why he called him quirkless ,he still has his quirk but he’s just unable to use it now.
@@rev0568 I just re-read chapter 160. You're correct, he never removed the quirk. Shigaraki said "Now you're a useless, helpless, quirkless wonder" though. Hm.. Probably he said that because overhaul has no hands.
To be honest I think AFO should also have paid more attention to Eri´s quirk. Imagine he found a way to massproduce the anti quirk bullets and use them against the heroes
Even if AFO took Overhaul’s quirk it would take years for him to learn anatomy if he wanted to rebuild and repair himself or actually do anything useful. Its like if AFO took Creati from Yaoyorozu, he couldn’t do anything with it because it requires her to know the molecular structure of items to use it. Unless he wanted to pop out Russian dolls. Also during the showing of OFA to Deku they showed AFO switching a quirk to a quirk-less to have 2 people be in his debt. Thats how he built a mass following and an army. He wouldn’t take a quirk from someone if A. They weren’t attacking him directly. B. If he wouldn’t get something out of it from someone else. If he would of jacked Overhaul it would have made Lady Nagant not help him track down Deku. She actually would have joined him, Hawks, Endeavor, and All Might. With the weakened state he was in it would have not been beneficial. People forget its the tacticians who are the most evil and dangerous not just the people with an evil plan.
@@anhhy5486 you can't create matter. He doesn't heal. He deconstructs and reconstructs. Can't give yourself hands if you have no hands. What he COULD do is deconstruct his feet and make them into hands? Or take someone else's arms via fusion.
The thing is, All For One always had access to Kai Chisaki’s quirk. The Doctor had made a copy of Overhaul and took away the key part that allows for rematerialization. That became Decay. It’s clear it was too complex for him to use to its full potential.
People keep talking about how overhauls quirk is too “complicated” for all for one to use as if one for all isn’t the most complicated quirk of all time, and all for one is actively trying to steal it 💀 There are so many complex layers to one for all that we still don’t even fully know.
Overhaul pretty much understands the human anatomy. That's why he is so confident when he decays the person or restore. AFO doesn't want to take the time and effort of learning something so tedious and complex if he can just take a quirk that he can mash together that like someone producing water with someone producing air= A high velocity cutting water gun.
Maybe Overhaul’s arms being gone has something to do with it. Remember when AFO stole Hawks’ Quirk but couldn’t use it because his wings were permanently damaged? Well, maybe Overhaul’s arms, which are his Quirk Factors, being gone make his Quirk useless like Hawks’. Just a theory.
Honestly i could see him just thinking its not fun to do that, because not only is it ridiculously complex and time consuming to work out instead of just working with his other toys but it would also make things too easy for him
If Overhaul doesn't participate in the final fight it will be such a massive fumble. Eri forgiving Chisaki and giving his arms back so that he can help defeat AFO would work so well for the story and would show villains like Toga that there is redemption for even the biggest monsters
Overhaul doesn’t deserve forgiveness… he tortured Eri for who knows how long, cutting her open, draining her blood, make her feel like a monster, make her go through intense hell for who knows how long, blow her up just to reconstruct her and do it all over again. Perhaps when the story is over (and Overhaul is back in prison after helping defeat AFO), Overhaul would get to see the old man that took him in again. Still repenting for his crimes, his helping hand to the heroes may pay off in the end, if only a little.
Here's a different take on why AFO didn't grab it: he didn't know the extent of its utility. Sir was looking into Chisaki for a while, gave all the knowledge he had gained to everyone on the raid team, and Mirio still noted Overhaul's quirk was nothing like they'd been told about. At the time of the raid and Overhaul possibly being discussed on the news (although most of the news ended up focused on the LOV killing Snatch and attacking a prisoner on way to hospital - ie Not what Overhaul was capable of), AFO was already in prison and kept media-silent. Meanwhile, Shigaraki knew about Overhaul's ability to blow people up, but I'm not sure he learned much about him being able to recreate people. It was Toga and Twice who saw some of the fight, and they're not known for talking strategic quirks with Shiggy (who I only bring up because of AFO taking over his body and being able to communicate with radio waves what he knows to original AFO during the prison escape arc). If AFO had known about the utility Overhaul's quirk provided, why wouldn't he have gone to get his hands on it years ago? Why wait until he's escaping prison? He used to send gigantomachia to get heroes' quirks only 2 years ago, surely he would've prioritized a quirk that could fix him back to new.
Its heavily implied he prefers quirks that are simple to use, and overhaul being able to disassemble and reassemble things on a molecular level could take a lifetime to learn, and the learning curve is scary when mistakes could be obliteration.
Plus having the quirk is one thing but actually using it to its max is a completely other thing. Remember he said this as an excuse for not taking Jeanist's quirk
I think the one shot quirks are a side effect of the quirk singularity thoery stated in mha that quirk are becoming so powerful that peoples bodys cant keep up with it. It was shown multiple times explicitly with deku and shigaraki that their quirk can damage thier own body from frequent usage of their quirk.
A complex quirk might not pair with others as it was stated some quirks don't go together that being said, the quirk that might serve him the most is the copy quirk (if thats the name) because the quirk made him understand how it worked (Eri and Deku quirks that he copied).
THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP!!!!! I remember reading this and kept asking why he didn't take Overhaul's quirk. I always thought I was because he only takes a quirk if it's powerful but also simple to use in every single aspect. This isn't the only plot I want an answer for. I'm still wondering why All For One didn't have the doctor give him a duplicate of Kurogiri's quirk. As smart as All For One is, it would have seemed smart to keep that ability tucked away, just in case. But that's plot for you.
This was explained in a way during all might vs all for one when he said he wasn't going to take best jeanists quirk due to it requiring and amount of training that he doesn't want to do and its the same thing with overhaul
I’m still confused about his quirk, can’t he use his feet? Or was it just his hands? Cuz it stated that whatever he touches he can manipulate it and stuff
from what i have heard he eather had some sort of awakening making him able to use his feet or they changed it to he can use his feet but i think he does not use it becuse he probly has vary little control using his feet
The only issue with overhaul (the quirk) is that it takes a bunch of time to master as you have to know the entire make up of whatever it is you’re rebuilding if you wanna heal. It’s basically shiggys decay offensively with the added bonus of shaping terrain and your own body to your advantage
His quirk is still there. Quirks are inside the DNA to my understanding and from what we've seen in the anime. So unless they have used his own bullet against him, Chisaki definitely still has his quirk. He just can't use it cuz he doesn't have hands anymore. And as for his arms: Shigaraki decayed and cut his hands but I suppose that he would still have some decayed parts of his skin and muscles so medical staff amputated his whole arm leaving just the shoulders.
I was expecting All for One to take every villain all the way back from Season 1 and use it together. Making Deku's story just as a set up for AFO's ultimate form and only Deku knows how to beat him with experience alongside the fans. That's what Oda-sensei with his godly-foreshadowing could've done, but Horikoshi ain't the same.
ALL of you are WRONG! Overhaul lost his quirk remember after the he was arrested Shigaraki shot him with the Quirk removing bullet that had been perfected to remove quirks permanently so he had no powers for All For One to take.
My personal headcanon or theory is that Since Mr Compress and Shigiraki both destroyed Overhaul's arms (where his overhaul quirk might be) Overhaul can't use or activate his quirk anymore EVEN if he had his arms back Maybe the whole "disable quirks from their required limbs/activation" ie for example if you cut Shigiraki's arms he is permanently unable to use Decay Maybe AFO (the quirk) works on this system If the quirk user had their quirks permanently disabled IN ANYWAY (example being cutting Shigiraki or Overhaul's arms which is a required activate outlet) AFO and his quirk can *NEVER* use it So even if AFO took overhaul's quirk, he can *NEVER* use it since the original user was permanently disabled before AFO can even have the time to take it
So this means 2 things, its either an oversight by the autor/writers, or it could be that all for one has a limit as to how many quirks his body can hold simultaneously, and it so happens that all his quirk that he had were simply better than overhauls
Theres limits and its proposed overhaul quirk factor was in his hands which is why he can't use it. Similar to Mr. Compress quirk factor being weakened losing an arm or aizawa being weakened losing 1 of his eyes. Overhaul may be redeemed by eri getting his hands& quirk back
The issue is that overhaul is a genius in anatomy so he knows how to build himself again without making a small mistake that would take his life like Mahito does in JJK with humans. Overhaul is one of the most complex quirks ever
@@that_dude8411 I think AFO the quirk can't use quirks that were disabled in anyway For example, take Shigiraki or Overhaul's arms away which will most likely either temporarily make them unable to use Decay or Overhaul until they can somehow grow their limbs back or It's a "Once disabled or destroyed , you're unable to use it" situation So even if AFO took Overhaul's quirk the fact Shigi and Compress took both Overhaul's arms away meant that AFO can *NEVER* use the quirk Overhaul even if he took it from the original user since Overhaul is basically disabled or crippled with his arms taken away
I recently saw something about this and some fans had a few different theories: 1) AFO’s body severely struggles with 4th gen quirks (why nomus and his Tomura plans exist) and overhaul is a very complicated quirk. 2) Overhaul can be compared to Fiber Master, a quirk that requires training to be able to use effectively and AFO just doesn’t want to put in the work. 3) As seen recently, if he takes a quirk from a person who’s quirk component is damaged, he gets that damaged quirk, rather than the quirk at its peak; so since overhaul seemed to be limited to Kai’s hands and he no longer has those (ironically thanks to the LOV) it’s possible that that has caused overhaul to become a worthless quirk
Overhaul is the forgoten Villan, with everything he went through. Imagine him reuniting with Eri and rewinding him to where he had his arms so he could use his quirk to fight AFO. Its a long stretch but he was a trainwreck after he lost so that turn around is plausible
Like what he said to Best Jeanist: "you mastered your quirk through practice and years of training, i don't need your quirk." Just like How it took Overhaul years of training to precisely rearrange his body back to perfect condition, he needed to memorize his nerves, bones, even where all his muscles go... the amount of dedication to do this is impressive.
It was shown towards the end of AFO’s fight with hawks and co. during the final war arc that All For One steals Quirks in the state that they are in. He could steal overhaul’s quirk, but he couldn’t use it, because Overhaul had lost his arms, and could no longer use the quirk himself.
Overhal ability to heal isn't part of his quirk so AFO stealing it wouldn't allow him to heal himself without extensive knowledge of the human body like overhaul had. He had to study the human body through and through
I believe he already had it: After he resurfaces from Shigaraki, he explains he created Decay by copying Chisaki's quirk (as he was still just an orphan in the Doctor's orphanage by the time) and modified it to remove it's reconstructive propierties, only leaving the destruction, then making it so it would get empowered by hatred.
The thing that everyone forgets is that Overhaul himself was an actual genius . He never had much competition since he rarely went outside so he never had a reason to get that powerful . If anything he also was so skillful at using his quirk that he could be that versitile in the first place . Is is almost the perfect evil mirror of Lemillion simply because the two have worked so hard to get to where they currently are . Anyone else with that quirk especially a pro hero would probably have a limit on how much they could reassemble but Overhaul used no Excuses and pushed past his limits both scientificly and Physically . He and Mirio are the definitions of growing your quirk naturallly .
The reason AFO wouldnt have taken it is because the AFO quirk doesnt just take your quirk gene, it takes your quirk factor too. WHen he took Hawk's wings away he took the DNA in Hawks body that gave him the wings but the wings themselves which had been totally burned to the point of being irreversibly damaged. In Chisaki's case, since he no longer had his hands, that means even if AFO took Chisaki's quirk genes, he wouldn't get whatever was in Chisaki's hands to be able to make the quirk work.
My reasoning for this is it's because of the learning curve of the quirk, and unless he has full control over it, he can't even risk touching his own skin
Crazy Theory: Bordor is a reincarnation of Ludinus, hence his elven race. He’s also a Socerer due to Ruidus Moon and Predathos. Also remember his instant apathy/hatred of the gods when learning about their plight. Either he’s an incarnation or has affiliation with Ludinus’ faction. I know, crazy.
The funny thing is that there was a fanfic where AFO actually tried to do this to Chisaki when he was arrested earlier than in canon because Deku was able to subdue him with Black Whip. AFO decides to get Overhaul from Chisaki because he believed it'd help restore his damaged body, but the germaphobic psycho ends up mutilating AFO's hands mid stealing of his quirk and he isn't able to change them back. Deku ends up getting into a tug of war of quirks and ends up gaining Overhaul for himself along with getting a few more quirks and the ability to bestow quirks he already has to others and even enhanced duplicates like Ragdoll's Search. It ended up being removed from RUclips and still can't find it in searches.
Its due to the complexity of Chisaki's quirk, but its also very likely that AFO doesnt even know who he is at this point, considering he was in prison during season 4
I see it like this: AFO views quirks as skills he can learn. Some quirks are easy to learn, like snapping your fingers or whistling. While other quirks require higher mastery akin to learning a new language. Overhaul may seem like a simple ability, manipulating matter, but Chisaki has to consciously think of what and how he’s manipulating it. And as far as living things go, Chisaki needs to understand the anatomy and by extension biology in order to fix a broken bone or get rid of a disease. AFO tries to get quirks that have a simple or passive function. Simple in that he can use it with little thought, like Air Cannon. Passive in that he can use it without thinking, like his Infrared or Longevity quirks.
Folks, even if AfO doesn't like complex quirks (source btw?), this is such an obviously useful ability. It would make his entire body hopping plan unnecessary since he could heal himself. He even got a century old doctor who could assist him in learning how.
A lot of people are saying it’s because overhaul needs knowledge to work properly but I’m not sure if that’s the case. I feel as if it would have been mentioned somewhere and also the fact that it works on nonliving things, he was able to fuse people to the road and cars without any issues, and fuse with three people and use their quirks. I doubt studying human anatomy would give you the knowledge on how to be a human kaiju. It’s more likely that afo just doesn’t know about how strong overhaul is considering that he wasn’t allowed any outside information and overhaul acted when he was in prison
A lot of people saying he didn't take it cause he didn't understand human biology, but i don't think that's why. First of all, this is All for One, I would be shocked if he didn't have some decent knowledge on human biology considering how knowledgeable he is. However, even if he didn't know human biology (he could just learn it), the quirk can be used on things other than himself like Chisaki did with the ground or exploding people by touching them. I think the main reason he didn't take the quirk is actually pretty simple; he didn't know what his quirk was. We've only ever seen All for One know what a person's quirk is after experiencing it himself or learning about it elsewhere, but never in battle before the person uses it. It's safe to say All for One doesn't have a "Quirk Deduction" quirk that allows him to see what a person's quirk is. So, he doesn't just randomly go around stealing people's quirk incase they aren't useful or possible dangerous for him to steal. For example, when fighting Best Jeanist, All for One deduced that BJ's quirk required skill and practice to use efficiently and wasn't something he could just immediately use without issue, so he didn't take it, choosing to instead just kill him.
Overhauls quirk takes time to learn with the formation from a distance and the healing factor of it, without practice he could just as easily make himself explode.
First, it might be one of those “difficult to manage” quirks that he isn’t interested in. Ones that require a lot of practice before it’s actually useful. Second, for what it would be useful for, namely destruction (if we’re not considering rebuilding) then Decay works just as well.
I feel like One for all could have made Overhaul another assassin if he knew his motives and he had some quirks to spare. He could just say “Hey go after Midoriya and I’ll heal your boss.” That was Overhauls goal and Midoriya was the one who beat him so it wouldn’t take much to convince him.
Everyone talking about how chisaki needed knowledge abs completely forgetting that his *quirk was destroyed via his own bullet by the LoV on the way to tartaric*
i for some reason used to think overhauls quirk was a counter to Shigaraki and Eri would rewind him to help. like Shigaraki touches the ground to decay it. and Overhaul touches the ground before it spreads too far. destroys and rewrites whats being decayed into being normal agian or spikes that would impale try to impale shigaraki or something
It's either the fact that Kai's quirk factor was probably solely in his hands, that are now destroyed, meaning that the quirk is also destroyed in this case. Or AFO just decided to not do it. Overhaul rebuilds anything it touches, so it's user should know biology of the human body, his own biology and stuff related to chemistry or construction? Kai probably understands how his body is working, that's why he could heal himself. But AFO. AFO probably had no interest in such a thing. Why would he need to know how his body is functioning or the exact structure of it? If anything, if he tried to take this quirk and use it on himself, he could actually kill his brain or destroy some organs
The problem is overhaul had a mastery using his quirk and AFO would have to figure out how Overhaul works if he stole it it’s like how he used his portal goo and said the new quirks are something he needs time to master

Why didn't he ever take a super genius qurik😢

He could have taken overhaul's quirk, use search to find his doctor buddy.
To further simplify what others have been saying:
“Guys there’s no in story reason for him not taking Overhaul so let’s just make up a somewhat plausible, but ultimately still fanon explanation that everyone will buy”
If anyone can find the source of Overhaul being a complex quirk that’d be nice. Otherwise it’s all just conjecture
And how about - take it, seal it and never use it? The real reason - mangaka leaves a ways to ending he wants. No logic behind characters, but author and his plot.

AFO did state that Shigaraki did not have the patience for skill-based quirks, which is why he did not take Best Jeanist's quirk.

Long story short: mr. Potato head over here didn’t want to take the time to learn anatomy and physiology so he could get a guarantee W.
People keep talking about how overhauls quirk is too “complicated” for all for one to use as if one for all isn’t the most complicated quirk of all time, and all for one is actively trying to steal it 💀 There are so many complex layers to one for all that we still don’t even fully know.
Glad I’m not the only one who thought it was strange
Overhaul pretty much understands the human anatomy. That's why he is so confident when he decays the person or restore. AFO doesn't want to take the time and effort of learning something so tedious and complex if he can just take a quirk that he can mash together that like someone producing water with someone producing air= A high velocity cutting water gun.
More importantly, why didn't he take his quirk. Give overhaul his hands back and then give him his quirk back?
Maybe Overhaul’s arms being gone has something to do with it. Remember when AFO stole Hawks’ Quirk but couldn’t use it because his wings were permanently damaged? Well, maybe Overhaul’s arms, which are his Quirk Factors, being gone make his Quirk useless like Hawks’. Just a theory.

Lady Nagant more like Mommy Nagant…
“I swear I’m not down bad it’s just a joke”
Don't worry we know
Its heavily implied he prefers quirks that are simple to use, and overhaul being able to disassemble and reassemble things on a molecular level could take a lifetime to learn, and the learning curve is scary when mistakes could be obliteration.
And gladly he forgot to take it cause it will be the end of all heroes.
Afo doesn’t like taking complex quirks, he would only take quirks that are strong from the getgo, like shotos quirk.
The biggest problem I have with the show (which I love) is there are to many one shot or one touch kill kind of quirks

Just the Hands.
from what i have heard he eather had some sort of awakening making him able to use his feet or they changed it to he can use his feet but i think he does not use it becuse he probly has vary little control using his feet
The only issue with overhaul (the quirk) is that it takes a bunch of time to master as you have to know the entire make up of whatever it is you’re rebuilding if you wanna heal. It’s basically shiggys decay offensively with the added bonus of shaping terrain and your own body to your advantage
If I'm not mistaken after overhaul lost his arms someone (a guard I think) says he's power had changed. He might not have overhaul anymore.
Maybe because he lost his fukin arms
His quirk is still there. Quirks are inside the DNA to my understanding and from what we've seen in the anime. So unless they have used his own bullet against him, Chisaki definitely still has his quirk. He just can't use it cuz he doesn't have hands anymore.
And as for his arms: Shigaraki decayed and cut his hands but I suppose that he would still have some decayed parts of his skin and muscles so medical staff amputated his whole arm leaving just the shoulders.
lady nagant had no business being that bad
I was expecting All for One to take every villain all the way back from Season 1 and use it together. ALL of you are WRONG! Overhaul lost his quirk remember after the he was arrested Shigaraki shot him with the Quirk removing bullet that had been perfected to remove quirks permanently so he had no powers for All For One to take.
My personal headcanon or theory is that
Since Mr Compress and Shigiraki both destroyed Overhaul's arms (where his overhaul quirk might be) Overhaul can't use or activate his quirk anymore EVEN if he had his arms back
Maybe the whole "disable quirks from their required limbs/activation" ie for example if you cut Shigiraki's arms he is permanently unable to use Decay
Maybe AFO (the quirk) works on this system
If the quirk user had their quirks permanently disabled IN ANYWAY (example being cutting Shigiraki or Overhaul's arms which is a required activate outlet) AFO and his quirk can *NEVER* use it
So even if AFO took overhaul's quirk, he can *NEVER* use it since the original user was permanently disabled before AFO can even have the time to take it
LADY NAGANTS PICTURE🥵🔥
So this means 2 things, its either an oversight by the autor/writers, or it could be that all for one has a limit as to how many quirks his body can hold simultaneously, and it so happens that all his quirk that he had were simply better than overhauls
other than better than overhauls, I think his body couldn't handle the newer gen quirks and might have been at a limit because of that
Theres limits and its proposed overhaul quirk factor was in his hands which is why he can't use it.

Shigaraki never shot him they only took his arms effectively taking away his quirk
@@that_dude8411 I think AFO the quirk can't use quirks that were disabled in anyway
For example, take Shigiraki or Overhaul's arms away which will most likely either temporarily make them unable to use Decay or Overhaul until they can somehow grow their limbs back
or
It's a "Once disabled or destroyed , you're unable to use it" situation
So even if AFO took Overhaul's quirk the fact Shigi and Compress took both Overhaul's arms away meant that AFO can *NEVER* use the quirk Overhaul even if he took it from the original user since Overhaul is basically disabled or crippled with his arms taken away

@@that_dude8411 look at my original comment on this short video
I suggested it as a headcanon or theory -_-
I recently saw something about this and some fans had a few different theories: 1) AFO’s body severely struggles with 4th gen quirks (why nomus and his Tomura plans exist) and overhaul is a very complicated quirk. 2) Overhaul can be compared to Fiber Master, a quirk that requires training to be able to use effectively and AFO just doesn’t want to put in the work. 3) As seen recently, if he takes a quirk from a person who’s quirk component is damaged, he gets that damaged quirk, rather than the quirk at its peak; so since overhaul seemed to be limited to Kai’s hands and he no longer has those (ironically thanks to the LOV) it’s possible that that has caused overhaul to become a worthless quirk
simple answer: plot
He.. Didnt have his quirk? He was made quirkless by one of his own darts, remember?
another plot hole in mha along with its stubbornness in having a story with no stakes. the downfall of this manga needs to be studied.
i think shiggy using overhaul would be funny.
Overhaul is the forgoten Villan, with everything he went through. Imagine him reuniting with Eri and rewinding him to where he had his arms so he could use his quirk to fight AFO. Its a long stretch but he was a trainwreck after he lost so that turn around is plausible
Like what he said to Best Jeanist: "you mastered your quirk through practice and years of training, i don't need your quirk."
Just like How it took Overhaul years of training to precisely rearrange his body back to perfect condition, he needed to memorize his nerves, bones, even where all his muscles go... the amount of dedication to do this is impressive.
Pov *both AFO and the director forget that overhaul didn't actually lose his quirk*
It was shown towards the end of AFO’s fight with hawks and co. during the final war arc that All For One steals Quirks in the state that they are in. He could steal overhaul’s quirk, but he couldn’t use it, because Overhaul had lost his arms, and could no longer use the quirk himself.
I thought Overhaul's quirk factor were in his arms. Since he has lost them, he is quirkless.
AFO doesn't even physically attack. He doesn't need it.
AfO: Tf should I know that. I’m more of an Omnipotent guy
And may that mistake become to most intense battle we'll all have waiting for.
Kai over here using alchemy without a transmutation circle 😂
Overhaul was a failed quirk i assume. Look at what happened to chiaki. AFO didnt wanna end up the same
Its due to the complexity of Chisaki's quirk, but its also very likely that AFO doesnt even know who he is at this point, considering he was in prison during season 4
All for one doesnt want too complicated quirks. He prefers simple use quirks because its easier to use and is less of a burden
Folks, even if AfO doesn't like complex quirks (source btw?), this is such an obviously useful ability. It would make his entire body hopping plan unnecessary since he could heal himself. He even got a century old doctor who could assist him in learning how.
Imagine if, in order to help with All for One, Overhaul would have to face Airy and beg her to help him get his hands back.
Bigg facts my boii, I NEVER thought about that look at youtube youu with the bigg brain 👏🏾
I always thought his quirk seemed like shigarakis except a better version since it breaks down and builds back up
Everyone talking about how chisaki needed knowledge abs completely forgetting that his *quirk was destroyed via his own bullet by the LoV on the way to tartaric*
Got distracted by mommy Nagant
i for some reason used to think overhauls quirk was a counter to Shigaraki and Eri would rewind him to help. like Shigaraki touches the ground to decay it. and Overhaul touches the ground before it spreads too far. destroys and rewrites whats being decayed into being normal agian or spikes that would impale try to impale shigaraki or something
that one thing we all forgot to do then turned out to be our greatest mistake
Overhaul is straight up upgrade of Decay ...
And AfO just like "Nah, Decay is the best power exist" ...
So AFO is just smart enough to plan everything up to this point but at the end of the day, he just goes hurr durr apes together strong bonk bonk
