I love to pour the egg in once the onions turn translucent and the soy base reduces to about 1/2.

That looks delicious. I like the flavors of a sweet sauce on rice. As a Cambodian we have a dish made with pork belly soy sauce, black pepper, and boiled eggs. It’s so yummy with jasmine rice. It’s called caramelized pork belly ( Kaw each chourk)

New goal: to make this 😍 thanks Benji for showing us!!! I gotta say I've been to Tokyo once, and I've seen the chefs cook with chopsticks and seeing you cook with them brings some good memories that I have to go back. Ps. they love eating spaghetti with chopsticks too. Love the culture 🍜

Benji, I followed your recipe, but the dish turned out too sweet. You did mention 3 tablespoons of sugar right? To reduce the sweetness I added a tablespoon of chilli sauce.

why are you so concerned? Typically in Asian countries or specifically Japanese countries the serving size for a dish is different despite having a big family. for mine, we were taught to share and not over eat

It looks like they were eating it for breakfast and intended to be on the lighter side. Also there were eggs so I think it’s the right amount of protein for the kids. Even if you give kids lots of meat they tend not to eat it.
