Idk if it's this one or 2, but Billy Kane's stage music never left my head no matter how long ago I played this game.(only played it for a week when it was first out)
"You pinheaded son of an ice cream maker!" Glad to see all the hilarity of the Genesis-version A.I. on full display here, as well as the ehm... interesting 3-lane system these earlier _Fatal Fury_ games had. Can't say I've ever been crazy about that part of this series, but the characters and stages were always cool. Perfecting Raiden by throwing him was pretty entertaining, I must say.
The Genesis port was my first experience with Fatal Fury and I LOVED it! Some time later, I rented the SNES port and I cannot put into words how much it disappointed me. Hell, even the music on the Genesis version is superior!
I never played *_"King of Fighters"_* as a kid, but I've heard that it's sort of a crossover fighting game. Characters from games like *_"Samurai Shodown"_* & *_"Art of Fighting"_*
The only time a Sam Sho character was in a KoF game, both times Nakoruru, was KoF 95 Game Boy as a hidden character, and in KoF XIV. KoF is mainly Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury fused, with characters from other SNK games.
Starting with Fatal Fury 2, I feel the FF series surpassed SF II. The Fatal Fury characters at least had personality. Remember, like Fatal Fury, and Art of Fighting, Street Fighter didn't get off to a hot start either. Same guy did all 3 series.
Having grown up on this version of the game, imagine my surprise when I learned that you're supposed to see Geese Howard fall off a building at the end.
Missing two characters, and all the characters have different voices from the arcade game. As I said for the SNES version, hard pass (I own both versions though haha), and quite honestly, not very good, just like the SNES port.
It's missing a few characters and stages, but that's small potatoes considering how much better it plays than the SNES version.
Yeah, the SNES version feels so incomplete compared to this one.
They are both terrible, hell the series didn't start to get good until Fatal Fury 2.
The music is everything in this port. Love it. Beats it everytime.
even some voices I prefer on Genesis. Repukken sounds much more badass in here for example

I've played both versions. This is definitely better than the SNES version.
Yes, it is. A good Port

Both versions disappoint me, but then again I am not partial to the first game in the series. Now Fatal Fury 2 and beyond, all good stuff.
Raiden: "I will never lose!"
Also Raiden: *gets double perfected by a Muay Thai fighter using nothing but throws*

Yeah, they're pretty good games. Here's the CD version of the first KoF if you're interested ruclips.net/video/MIQYJ-orFl0/видео.html

@@Bloodreign1 So... it's essentially kinda like *_"Super Smash Bros."_* before that game was a thing... just with characters from SNK franchises?
Proof that music is awesome: 30 years after playing this on Genesis, I still remember it.
I recently picked up fatal fury on genesis. I got snes port as well a long time ago
The Battle Of Destiny!
The first ever King Of Figthers tournament!
Fatal Fury!
(Produced by SNK!)
Nice man I loved this game
Always loved the snk releases but sure the art of fighting/fatal fury series were less playable than SF II

You overwhelm CPU AI ! Lol
if you combine Sagat and Ryu in one casing
Finally I have found the game I’ve been seeking from my childhood all this time under my nose, my favourite character is Tung fu rue btw lol
Having grown up on this version of the game, imagine my surprise when I learned that you're supposed to see Geese Howard fall off a building at the end.
Geese is a beast man!
@ 0:54 I've always loved this music playing this game.
I have this Game since Child and love it
Fatal fury is classic mega drive game with a vengeance
Shatter all Expectations
this is the first fighting game i know of to have cut scenes granted there just text with a picture but it was rare for the time
5:15 The old man kinda looks like Master Roshi from Dragon Ball
genesis neo geo ports were always pretty good
Even World Heroes?
There is tiger combo you did not use why ?
Fantastic video.
Shatter all Expectations
Your profile picture is not Mai.
Yeah this is the stuff. The neo geo version just didnt sound like my childhood
Music is great, it's a shame Billy Kane got cut from this version
Why in the world this version, you have to fight Terry and Andy, lol?
I just noticed tung fu rue is a rip off roshi 😂 great game😂
Bien jugado...
Pero, muy limitado en personajes de ésta consola.
AI intelligence at its peak. GPT has a serious contender.
Didnt mario make it into this game as some kinda DLC with annoying comeback mechanics or something? (All jokes aside this looks cool)
13:36 lol
Compared to NeoGeo version, this music sounds weird
5:00 elder abuse

Geese: I am the strongest fighter you can't beat me.
*Geese : Throw me bro I'll get close*
