I love your videos, Linda at 81 you are amazing and an I think you would cope well on the back of your Debbie’s motor scooter. 😉 Your home is absolutely gorgeous Debbie. Keep the videos coming ladies. 🤩🌸
Wonderful Presentation, always friendly cheerful and Thoughtful experience, from Local Standpoint you are much better than average Expat or new Expat who living on Bali 🏖️🏖️, Thank so mUch for Hardworking😊
Thank you. I am very grateful to be a part of the Indonesian life...specifically Bali life. I love the Balinese and Javanese. They are so friendly and easy to be around. Thanks for including us in your world. :)
❤🙏🏻Wonderful you made the decision. Stress free & I can imagine very peaceful there. Wishing you & your daughter a beautiful week. Im very close to my daughter as well.💞💞🇬🇧living🇸🇪
Welcome & live in Indonesia. May you both always be healthy, happy, & successful. I am happy if there is a child who is filial to his parents. Because, this is in accordance with Indonesian culture which will always look after its parents. Stay creative. Create a work of art according to your skills. Perhaps your creation can be useful for anyone. May GOD bless you both. Merry Christmas 2024 & New Year 2025.
Hi Debbie and Linda. So cool to see you again. Good information. Just want to mention Goa in India as an alternative to Bali at this time of the year. October till May is the dry season and temperature around 28c-32C. Pleasant - and cheap living. Come and visit😘😊
Lovely and comical video of both of you, beautiful ladies living your best life! I can appreciate your mom's honesty regarding the heat and humidity. I am a person who prefers different seasons. I say this as I sit in North Dakota as a travel sleep tech. I moved from North Carolina to North Dakota recently to embark on a nomadic lifestyle that will also allow me to still travel abroad between work assignments, as my house still sits on the NC market. 🙃 I say all that to say, and I still enjoy your content very much because I love hearing about people living a fulfilling & peaceful lifestyle on their terms! ❤😊🙏🏽
Thank you Natina for your insight. I've been to North Dakota and loved it. Although it's cold, I know you will be very happy there. If you had a video channel about living where you are, I would subscribe in a heartbeat. I'm the same way, love to see how other people in the world live.
@retiredlifeinBali Awww, you're so kind, and thank you! From coworkers to family to patients, they have all asked if I have a channel yet?! LOL I am still on the fence with a channel. But I will keep you posted if I decide to do it. ☺️♥️🙏🏽
Haha! Which is why you get our videos. It's not about moving to Bali, it's about how 2 Americans are living an alternative lifestyle in another part of the world. :)
Love you two !! You make a GREAT pair !!! Thanks for sharing your story, especially from those of us who are heading to our golden years !! I want to be (as brave as you) like you when I grow up !!! Love your videos and the information shared !! Happy holidays!!! Regards from SoFlo !
@@retiredlifeinBali just finished watching your video on the grocery store. The prices are much more cheaper than in SoFlo ; except for the ice cream, that is ! Was expecting much higher prices since everything needs to be imported. BTW: loved it when your mom rolls her eyes at you 🤣🤣🤣 ! You make quite a dinámic duo !! … many thanks once more for sharing your days with us !!
Hi, yes, we are sharing next week some details on our cost of living. I have a breakdown of what I spend my money on each week. In this video Mom talks about learning to convert the dollar to the local currency, Rupiah, but in actuality, she's paying attention to how she spends her money. That is the true gift of this experiment with Mom living here.
You have such a nice way of treating each other. It reminds me of treating my mum when she was getting older. ❤ I’m interested in Linda’s Sports and stay healthy and smart programm and I’m interested how Debbie writes her novels. Dear Debbie, these days I’m trying to write a novel with AI and sometimes it’s working very well and good, and sometimes the AI writes nonsenses. I published 5 books, 2 fictional romance and 3 nonfiction. The nonfiction books sell better. ❤
Wow, I don't know much about AI for the books, but I'm sure there are RUclipss to help out. lol. Thank you for your comment on what you want to see. Love to you:)
OK thanks for letting me know. Can I ask how much your mums vilia is next to yours ? What is the rent monthly yearly? How does it work over in Bail do you have to take a long lease? Many thanks 😊
@@jacquibrown8607 Mom's house is paid yearly at around $6,300 per year. Some owners you are renting from may require more time up front (3 years or more) and want all the money up front too. You get a better price for 3 years. Some places will let you rent monthly but I found they are much more money in the long run.
6 years of living here, no floods and the volcanos are too far away from where we live. By the way, I actually climbed up one of them, Mt. Batur, on my 50th birthday...it was the toughest experience of my life.
can't you port your US number to GV for anything you need for the US such as the banking or those stupid 2fa. But I do have a question.. what about fees. I have heard that to live in Bali you have to pay all sorts of fees all the time. Can you talk about that?
Unfortunately, Mom couldn't port her number without paying a lot of money. To answer the fee question, the only fees are visa and if you are a tourist, there's a $10 fee when you enter, but if you have a visa longer than 30 days, you don't pay the fee. There aren't any other fees.
It must be Wi-Fi WITH internet. Many people think of Wi-Fi as internet because when they connect with Wi-Fi at sources those have free internet connected by the store/establishment unless they have a password needed for a fee.
What’s App with my german phone number is even working if you change the SIM card into a Thailand SIM card to get internet access there. ❤ love your videos ❤🎉
Haha! There are golf carts nearby which I looked at, but they were too expensive and you are right, we would be primadonna-ing all over the place. Love your channel name by the way 'blablabla'...so cute :)

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Do you have a specific tangible asset you are thinking? Property? My concern with something tangible outside the US is that the government of the tangible thing (property) may take it away at any time. Eminent Domain is common in many countries, even Indonesia.

@ you read right. In fact, i want the AI to write the book, and sometimes it writes great, but sometimes it writes total nonsense.
Wouldn't mind trying Bali for awhile, but I've got itchy feet so I tend to move after a few days. Might only be to the next suburb.
I hear you...Mom was like that too. I remember having to move Mom every year into a new apartment. She loves a change of scenery.
Nice video how do you pay rent for your apartment if you don't have a bank account in Bail ?
I pay for her using my bank and Mom reimburses me.

Do they have retirement villages? What happens 10 years from now?
No retirement villages. Mom and I are living day by day for now.

are you eligible to make indonesian bank account? I use Wise all the time
I prefer to have both a Indo bank and a US bank. Wise is useful, for sure!
I guess eventually you will talk about what happens if a person dies there.
Why not Google Voice?
Are you still considering whether you want to stay there?
Right now, we don't have any plans to leave. It's working so far.
This didn’t feel like either of you were comfortable
What does 100,000 rupiah buy?
5 or 6 plates of fried rice or nasi campur (with a chicken drum & veggies & egg) from ordinary resto, could be cheaper from a warung.
Can I ask girls how you manage to have pets, did you bring existing pets over from the US or were they acquired in Bali?

if you want to ride together and safe, maybe buy a becak/tricycle. But I think you guys will become primadonna afterwards. lol
