Yeah, transparently I was just recording gameplay in case anything interested ended up happening, then it did. Then i figured people might want to know/track exactly how i got there because otherwise i wouldnt be able to explain. So i just uploaded the whole VOD (also didnt care to render/edit it down when i could just upload it and take a shower lol)
I believe the glitched textures are totally random. Every now and then you come across a room with screwed up textures, and that may happen to any room (havent seen it in a level yet i think)
Did you hit the yellow switch? it's a random possible side effect if you press it, there's also a 6% chance not to lose your hat which is why i'm asking. I'm sure there's a random chance once you press it you have a random chance of getting a gltiched warped version of the level with corrupted textures you tried to go to.
@@clovisii9366do you know the list of wise effect’s you can get? The hat one I absolutely know is the main one that changes but I had no idea it could warp your textures
Actually, a mechanic is present in 0.9 and 1.0 involving just that; as you play the game, your different actions, progress, performance, commonly-followed routes, etc. will influence a series of hidden values known as "personalization values" which themselves can impact various aspects of gameplay. Basically, think Crash Bandicoot's "Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment" crossed with LSD:DE's "Dream Chart." For example, after you've collected so many stars, expect to see your health regeneration slow down and eventually go away; however, if you proceed to die a lot thereafter, you might see some of it relinquished back, while if you prove yourself a real hotshot the game might just take away your cap for some added challenge. If you spend a disproportionate amount of time in the Shoshinkai or B-Roll levels, your 'standard' hub type used outside of beta levels may change to match the one used in the beta levels you've been frequenting. Other oddities that PVs might introduce include - but are not limited to - texture/music glitches and the frequency thereof, enemies appearing in slightly greater numbers or outside of their usual zones, harmful coin types sometimes appearing in place of beneficial ones, and in some cases, even changes to some of the warp destination or even your spawn areas. Don't like what the game's giving you right now? You could take your chances and try pressing the Yellow Cap Switch; it scrambles _all_ your PVs, even taking them to values they might not otherwise reach through gameplay. For example, you might walk out of the palace with your cap missing, your failure spawnpoint set to the Uncanny Courtyard, Goombas appearing on the Castle Grounds, randomized cap unlock states, white coins supplanting all blue coins, a penchant for upside-down textures, and a final-release HUD.
I am also using Project64 with the default settings. The game has never crashed there for me. It's possible its due to it being night time on your end?
Well, I just tried this and I didn't get the messed up textures. I also tried using the vanish cap to get into the caged off room where you would go to RR in vanilla, but it just dumped me in the castle grounds with nothing changed 🤦 However, I then went to Unagi's Cave and BLJ'd OOB in the cave wall, I could walk along it and at some point the textures went nuts switching like they do when you approach the AI Core, it's as if the Personalisation is supposed to know I BLJ'd (although I don't know if that happens with where I was in Unagi's Cave normally...) Edit: Never mind, it happens normally once you get a certain distance into the cave and/or after lowering the water level
Tested. It just happens randomly. You’re more likely to end in the basic castle. Twisted textures do occur every once in a while
18:26 is where the corrupted castle appears
Thanks
Thank you, you just saved me a lot of time ^^
Not going to lie, in the end, the glitched textures felt like the least interesting thing in the video to me.

It does happen on one particular level, don't remember which one though

I love how the power/hp system is just constantly fighting to what design it should be what the fuck
I don't know how these mods are able to expand the games file like this. If this was on a n64 cartridge the dame thing going to explode.
Some 64 mods do work on real n64 hardware. Most utilize the expansion pack to make it work.
the fact that this works on real hardware s insane

Honestly hitting the switch just seems like a way to fuck your game up entirely, I've never touched it.

Bro Is stupid
It's called PVs.
The Yellow Switch corrupts specific partition of your save file. That's why it may appear after pressing it
I tried this...but it just keeps taking me to the eel graveyard.... I'm starting to think every copy really is personalized!!
a lot of the time its simply to do with the time you are playing it. try doing the same thing at a different time
