I’d just like to start with the words of a Famous Mathematician Pythagoras “There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres.”
Geometry is the branch of mathematics that deals with shapes, angles, dimensions and sizes of a variety of things we see in everyday life. Geometry is derived from Ancient Greek words - 'Geo' means 'Earth' and 'metron' means 'measurement'.
MY SPEECH -
The laws of nature are but the mathematical thoughts of God and this is a quote by Euclid who was the Father of Geometry who changed the way we learn about shapes with his 13-book series, Euclid's Element . Yes you guessed right I Prikshit Lohchab will talk about Geometry .
Geometry has played a fundamental role in shaping the world we live in .
In geometry we are concerned with the nature of these shapes, how we define them, and what they teach us about the world at large--From Maths to Architecture to Biology to Astronomy to Art to Robotics to Space to Sports to Machines .
Everything requires and uses geometry, from the tires on your car to the glass of juice you drink every day. Almost every practical field uses geometry. For instance, if you want to become a game designer. Everything in the game world uses geometry From vector graphics to the game's terrain.
Basically geometric shapes have left their mark from man-made structures to living organisms. It is crucial because it helps us understand and describe the fundamental properties of the physical world, enabling us to solve real-world problems, design structures, and advance various fields .
We observe different geometrical patterns and shapes in nature also like circles inside tree trunks, cones in pine trees, spheres in the sun and moon , hexagons in beehives , triangles in animal noses and so on which showcase its beauty, efficiency, and underlying the mathematical principles that govern the natural world.
Did you know that the Indus Valley civilization also showed the existence and use of geometry. Even today, by the applications of geometry, we construct buildings, metro lines , dams, and roads. It is believed that in ancient times, geometry was invented for constructing buildings and temples .
Since geometry is the science of shapes, it also plays a significant role in planning interiors. Nowadays architects use unique geometric patterns and prints to create exceptional modern interiors.
This may seem strange, but astronomers have used it to measure orbits and evaluate planets' shapes which means geometry exists way beyond the Earth's atmosphere , and almost everything relies on geometric concepts.

As you see In our simple daily life essentials like TV, TV remote, mobile phone, laptop, bed sheets, sofas, to objects like a dice used in a board game, carpets, vases, painting , traffic signs, sports fields, jewellery , everything is a geometric shape .
Therefore , Studying geometry provides the students like me with many foundational skills and helps them to build their logical thinking skills and problem-solving skills. Thus, contributing to our holistic development.
Learning geometry is about more than just taking your medicine ("it's good for you!"), it's at the core of everything that exists--including you.
