- A fun day in New York! We got a glimpse of the NYC Skyline, we hiked over Bear Mountain, walked through a zoo, went over the Hudson River, and finally I reunited with my puppy after 3 months!!

It was very nice running into you and Stretch just over the Bear Mountain Bridge. It's amazing that you can bang out a 27 mile day in that terrain. Good luck the rest of the way.
So good to see Callie again! Wow, if you are in dog range, you are getting close to home. The states will be going by more quickly now, and soon you will be on your home turf! I think the hardest part is over for you, Nahamsha -- I hope so, at least.

Love the videos. I am planning to hike for about 200 miles on my 40th birthday, starting on the Bear Mountain bridge and end it near Bennington, VT. I need to plan it all in advance (including flights, trains etc. - I am from Poland), so it’s great to have the insight and use other people’s experiences.

Yes seeing those poor animals stuck in that zoo made me very sad too 😢 Especially the bears. Not enough room for them to explore.
The zoo in bear mountain is a sanctuary and rehab for local wildlife. Every animal in there is either being rehabilitated and released or will be cared for because they can't be released back into the wild for various reasons.
You have acquired a new super power - being able to track vending machines from a distance!

Nice Vlog of NY. Looks like you might have missed “Anthony’s Nose” view point just after the Bear Mt. Bridge. If your back this way again check it out. It’s a Great view.
Agree, but for thru-hikers it's about .7 off trail. She did a 27 miler that day and .7 more is rough. But that view from Anthony's nose is spectacular.
@@frolege1 I live in NH now but grew up in Peekskill and visited Anthony's Nose a few years ago. Yes the Hudson Valley has amazing views.
@@frolege1 .7 is the reason I've never heard of it. Not many are willing to walk almost 1 1/2 miles extra for one more view. Totally worth it if you live in the area or visit often.
@@djg5950 Yes, lots of day hikers park at the AT trailhead (Putnam County sign) hike up to the first blue blaze and take a right turn. AT Thru-Hikers make a LEFT turn and follow the white blaze.

Holy crow, you're making great time. I was just camping Friday at Sages Ravine, pretty empty. I'm a CT hiker but will be on the presidential range for my first multiday hike across. Keep on trucking!

To see those animals in captivity makes me sad. I know it's necessary sometimes but it's still sad...
The enclosures in this zoo are horrifying. Those poor animals. I hope it’s not necessary to walk through this animal prison to hike the AT. So, so sad.
There is a bypass around the zoo (not sure how close it passes to the cages) because the zoo is closed sometimes. I felt really bad for that fox and bobcat. Their pens are too small. I hate zoos anyway. Never visit them.
@@djg5950 thanks for this. It makes me so distressed to see animals kept in these conditions. I kinda assume that hikers are lovers of animals and the natural world and would never take pleasure in seeing animals in confined conditions like these. I hate zoos as well. It’s shameful that they make money from animal suffering.
The animals in this zoo were rescued from sickness or injuries and would not have been able to survive in the wild.
@@DWNY358 I'd just like to see them in a larger pen with some grass and bushes or trees more like a natural habitat. They may not have the room at that zoo.

That zoo is for animals that have been injured or are sick and need rehabilitation. Some of them will go back to the wild some won’t. But it’s not like a normal zoo

I don't know who needs to hear this but stop saving all your money. Invest some of it if you want financial freedom.
Invest in Bitcoin, gold, silver, buy stock, forex market. Anything! Just invest and save yourself.
Good talk! I tell that to my friends everyday. Saving is good investing is much better, I used to think saving money would save me but NO, saving is just keeping it to spend later.

These are platform where you can invest and they trade your money. Then pay you profit either weekly or monthly. That's investing
So honestly I was searching how to hike the AT and AT hiking and then clicked on the video with the prettiest girl in it and stuck with it. Lol glad I did because it's super fun watching them and Taylor is super cool and really beautiful.
