There was a standalone game about Sylas - the Mageseeker where Sylas lead the rebellion against the mageseekers, when Demacia finally declared mageseekers as criminals and allowed mages to exist normally Sylas just switched his enemy from mageseekers to social classes. He is the spark of endless revolution that will not stop untill Sylas dies, when one enemy is defeated he will find another one to fight against
LETS GOOOO!!!! Sylas story gives so much deep knowledge about demacia, i love complex characters like him! Morgana and Kayle are great characters to check it out next! Their lore is tied to ancient Demacia and the voicelines are wonderful, really dramatic!
The saddest thing is Sylas believed in Demacia the most, in fact, he turned himself in because his parents claimed it was honourable and noble for a demacian to do so. He did that and got used, manipulated, and treated lesser than anyone in Demacia. The saddest thing is, after all, that when he dies in game he says 'Take me home..' meaning back to Demacia, he does love his home country he just feels cheated and upset that his own kinfolk couldn't treat him and mages as much equality and respect as nobles, royals, and normal commoners. Lastly, to make this more depressing when Sylas' dies he says "At last... no walls." meaning the prison walls surrounding him, all this entails that no matter how much he suffered as long as he wasn't still in prison and died there, he regrets nothing
Why Noxian ? Because Sylas is an anarchist. Civil war in Demacia is no big deal for Noxus... but revolutionary, independence & anarchist ideas, are pretty unwelcome in the empire. No matter what Jarvan does it won't be enough for Sylas as long as he is king. Sylas become wiser/calmer during mage seeker game but he still an anarchist
