That's super light tackle for drum, dawg. You're lucky that fish didn't find some structure. That's the best footage I have seen of a black drum. Great close ups.
Drum fishing is so much fun! Caught a black drum about the size of the one you caught off of a sea wall in pensacola florida with a 25$ light action walmart rod/reel combo and a ghost shrimp. What a fight! Awesome videos! Makes me miss being on the ocean and salt water fishing
This video threw me all back to last week again. I caught my PB Monster Black Drum.I loved this video bro,all that Action and some great footage you have here. I thanked the Big man upstairs too after my catch👍🐟
I've seen a number of your videos and I have to say they're enjoyable, better than just dreaming of being out there yourself. You seem to have an awesome attitude and enjoy fishing to its fullest, if I could I would fish every day for the rest of my life. Good luck on future trips.
that was great. Good footage too. We're catching the 7" in the bay right now in our traps and of course letting them go but this lets my kids see what happens when you don't take them early. Nice one.
This video is what solidified my decision on the mojo inshore. Pairing it up with an okuma raw-ii 55 spinning. Pretty stoked on the combination. Cheers, and baller fish.
sea money, this is a open invite for you and Kenny to come over to Michigan and go for some monster Flathead's on the west side of the state, there are 4 major rivers that are 1.5 hrs drive from my house. I'm chomping at the bit to throw a flapper in some of the log jams, that is genius, Flathead Friday will be every Friday for me from now on, thanks for the ideas and tips, keep the videos coming
Wow dude that's incredible I live in eastern nc right bye the outer banks and I'm just use to fishing in the sounds and rivers and catching 1 to 2 pound black drum that fight like crap but that's a really nice fish congrats
Wow, that fish is insane! Those drum get uglier and uglier as they get bigger but I'd love to tie into some. Is that area generally safe for fishing out of a sit on top and are you far off the shore? Enjoyed it...
+Chuck Peacock kayak fishing the delaware bay is a little sketchy... it really depends on how comfortable you are in the kayak, but you could probably get out only once ever few days or so. The tides are strong so it doesn't take much wind to make it choppy. We were about half a mile out or so this day, other times we've drum fished up to 3-4 miles from the launch. Glad you enjoyed it man!
I catch em that size and bigger all the time in Sabine lake in TX, I prefer using a Zebco 33, talk about a great fight, wait until you catch one that's roughly 80 pounds and about 4 foot long, you should try Gar fishing.
+Aaron Ramirez No good. Seriously, eathing these fish are waste, a lot of guys do keep their limits and eat them but the amount of meat you get off these fish hardly justifies killing them, you might get 10lbs of meat off a 60lb fish, and in that meat you will find many worms. Guys claim they're good to eat but most agree the smaller fish, say under 30lbs are much easier to clean and have better quality meat/less worms.. so yes lots of people eat them but at the same time lots of meat goes to waste
+Jason Fromwiller for this, I buy bait. I do like to catch my own, but for drum you need a lot of clams... at least a half bushel if not a bushel. it gets pricey...
+JASON EIKSZTA Ehh nope, it was on the other side of the bay... but I was just drum fishing on the delaware side a few days ago and caught em! lewes is very close to the drum grounds if you have a boat... sometimes you can even catch em from shore!

I caught 3 today on my Yak in Tampa Bay but not that big. Still fun on 15 lb braid with 40 lb leader and a 1/0 circle hook.
Sweet video man! That's a big ol' drum!

Great catch partner! Glad you revived it and let it go.... You had be on a natural high after that beauty!

Your videos make me want to get a kayak!!!
I caught a 30 pound red drum off a pier in NC. Took me 10-15 minutes to land it. Caught numerous cramps in my forearms lol. Hell of a fight. Nice job.
Wow dude that's incredible I live in eastern nc right bye the outer banks and I'm just use to fishing in the sounds and rivers and catching 1 to 2 pound black drum that fight like crap but that's a really nice fish congrats
so you fish for giant saltwater carp over there?
@Shimano and others: For fish like this one, it would be good with crank handles on both sides of the reel!
Wow, that fish is insane! Those drum get uglier and uglier as they get bigger but I'd love to tie into some. Is that area generally safe for fishing out of a sit on top and are you far off the shore? Enjoyed it...

Such a good video and amazing fish, but this hurt me so bad seeing you release it, never caught a drum over 25lb 😫
Is it the 15 to 30 pound 3/4 to 2 ounce cus u have the same one

Do you catch your own bait or do you buy it?
+Jason Fromwiller for this, I buy bait. I do like to catch my own, but for drum you need a lot of clams... at least a half bushel if not a bushel. it gets pricey...

Dude that anchor is big enough to anchor a 20 foot fishing boat.
SEA: By chance was this by my place in Lewis?
+JASON EIKSZTA Ehh nope, it was on the other side of the bay... but I was just drum fishing on the delaware side a few days ago and caught em! lewes is very close to the drum grounds if you have a boat... sometimes you can even catch em from shore!
I wish people handled these fish better. we need to be responsible anglers to maintain the fishery
Man when I saw it come up the first time I flipped out.
awesome !
Nice fish
a really big spot
We subscribed😄😄😎😎🤑🤑
If you can give me a length on it I can get a close weight on it
Tanner Virden Thanks but unfortunately I didn't get any measurements. Its all good though, it was big enough for me! thanks again

Fish that big could have worms
Tighten your drag. Your rid wasn't even bouncing you and down. Use the rod instead of the reel to fight the fish. It's a nice drum though
