Peter, your recollection of the early days dancehall is very good.... great interview!!! As a youth growing up between Jones Town and Woodford Park/Allman, I definitely connect with the dancehall life from the 80s, and a nuff time I man tek in the I dem a workout on Gresham Road, off Anderson Road. Thanks for your contribution to dancehall🇯🇲
Next time ask Peter Metro whether he remembers the dances inna England with the great Saxon Sound Paps Levi, Daddy Colonel,, Tippa Irie, Senior Sandy Daddy Rusty, the late Miss Irie, Roger Robin, Mikey Mclean, Dennis Rowe, Musclehead, Trevor Ranks ((Now Trevor Sax), Mikey Boops & Prento Yoot. Must remember them dances deh.
I know Peter Metro a very long time when he came by Metro Media, there was a lot of young DJs in Jamaica in the 1960s and 70s and. When the 1980s came in , the market was over flood with younger DJ's. I heard certain DJ was saying that is he brought in spelling,in the DJ fraternity and. I told him it is not true at all, the first DJ that Bring in spelling was Scotty. With teacher , teacher, teach how to spelled, rat ,cat 🐈 ting a ling and so on. Then other DJs in the 1970s talking how many subjects they passed, and which schools they attended. Anyway it is really nice seeing Peter Metro, and he is still doing his thing. He is very smart only left Jamaica do his thing and, returns home. Some of the senior DJs them got stuck in foreign countries and, fall on hard times.

This is a great interview and give Metro credit he dosent divert from his original interview with Teachdem which was done a few years ago. His memory is superb in reality Papa San ,Stitchie , Professor Nuts, were lyrically better djs than Peter Metro in the 80s . I remember being in the House of Leo in half way tree 1986 Metro media what a dance Dominic was there Tanto Metro, Danny Dread were on the mic . But Peter Metro stood out so much so he got a gun salute. My cousin Kevin who lived uptown in Constant Spring was his first dance we still talk about it now in 2024. He still lives in the same place in Charlton Avenue off Shortwood Road. Those were the best days . I also listened to Metro Media in Vineyard Town .
