I'm not a doctor...just a sister of a patient who developed aphasia, headaches, etc. about one year after a near total gross resection of her tumor (diagnosed as hemangiopericytoma WHO grade 2). Her original team said the MRI showed tumor recurrence. Second opinion indicated radiation necrosis. She has just had her 3rd infusion of Avastin 7.5mg/3 week intervals. Between the time of the second opinion and her first infusion, her eye sight also became negatively affected so she can no longer drive. So far, she has not seen any relief of her symptoms and no change in her flair or MRI scans. Her current team said it can take up to 4 infusions. I'm excited to see what her team says about LITT as a possibility. It's exciting to imagine maybe LITT would be the thing that works for her.
