    Thank you so much for posting this video. Had the exact same problem, thanks to you we have a functional umbrella again. Ours lasted one season and broke. A new one would be the same, so best to repair. God bless and greetings from the UK!

    I bought a new umbrella once that actually worked that way. I was happy. This solution is totally logical and simple.

      These are quite thin metal, fixing it properly may exceed the cost of buying another. Look for one on sale somewhere

    I need more details ! I been fighting with my umbrella x 1 month to run a new string 🤬- 1st it’s too think - then too thin with the string - then it won’t feed thru the dam pole - grrrrrr ! So like where did u attach the top string to in order for it not to get caught up ?

    Would anyone be willing to provide written names of the parts needed so I can look them up on the Menards app?
    Also, did you drill your own holes into the pole for the string hook and pulley hook, or did you repurpose existing ones?

    First off, I applaud you, for not wanting to needlessly add to the landfill! I have been a trash picker for going on nine years now. You would not believe how wasteful people are where I live. Your umbrella looks a lot like the one I found by (not in) a dumpster yesterday. Though mine has a white top and only needs cleaning. How much can I get for it on craigslist once it’s cleaned. Or should I just give it to the Goodwill? I don’t have much storage space.

    • @retireready7090
      @retireready7090  Год назад +1

      These umbrellas are relatively cheap, like $50 on sale brand new so reselling a used one wouldn't get you much. My point is, it was junk and now I have got 2 more years use and probably a few more left.
