I can’t tell you how wrong this was to include the Valiant. I drive a ‘62 as a daily driver and not one of the issues you mentioned, aside from rust, has ever been a problem. The Slant Six is bullet proof and I have never had a problem with the Push button transmission. Compared to the two other cars that were the first compacts, The Falcon and the Corvair, the Valiant and later Darts were solid, reliable well built cars that sold well for that reason. Yes, the brakes sucked but so did all the other cars of that vintage. Talk to anyone who owed one and you will get a strong argument for what a good car they were. (P.S. The Ambassador was not the first to have Air Conditioning, that credit goes to the 1940 Packard.)
Ah, the Valiant - the car that just keeps on rolling while we argue about it! I guess it’s true what they say: one man’s rust bucket is another man’s daily driver! If you enioyed the video, please consider subscribing :)
2:05 the last Edsel rolled off the line in Nov. of '59. But it was a 1960 so I guess that makes it a product of the '60's. And it's just Edsel, a stand alone brand. You will not find Ford's name anywhere on that car. In 1959 Edsel joined up with Mercury(Edsel)Lincoln dealers. 2:04-3:16 I thought this was about the 1960 Edsel? You spent over a minute rehashing why the Edsel was a failure and didn't show 1 1960 Edsel. What a joke.5:53 huh? or did you mean the 1st American motors car? I'm pretty sure American motors offered a/c before 1968. And A/C was offered in American cars as early as the late '30's. 8:00 It didn't become Plymouth Valiant until 1962. The 1st 2 years it was a Valiant. 9:13 again in 1960 and 1961 it was just the Comet you will not see Mercury's name on the '60 or '61. This was to be the next gen Edsel.
@@richardrice8076 I'm not 100% convinced that the video/channel isn't AI clickbait though your comment DID get a response... Any video that is based on a premise that "everyone" thinks a certain way should be taken with a grain of salt. At best, this is someone's opinion, though it is curious that the "channel" replied with apparent confusion to something whose meaning is pretty clear.
@@user-surly I try not to watch these stupid channels but I get sucked in. It's my fault. Thank you for acknowledging that I made sense. That doesn't happen too often.
