- This was a speedrun category that I thought would be interesting, albeit grindy, so I decided to route it out myself and do a run. Here is how my run went.

Geo is a naturally occurring resource that is visually appealing. They’re not collecting them as money, they’re just picking up pretty rocks, like animals do

They're probs valuable to those who aren't infected, but I think if an insect is infected, they don't find geo valuable, but they do pick up rocks (like the guy said)
@@justiar The way ive always seen it, geo was used as currency years ago back when Hallownest was thriving. Think of it like how gold is naturally occurring and pretty, so creatures (like humans) thought to collect it and place value on it, and make coins out of it. Lemm, Salubra, Sly and others value them out of tradition (and necessity, because there needs to be some kind of currency), but the other husks and bugs just find them around and pocket them because they look nice.

I bought all unbreakable charms in my first playthrough, other playthrough I was too lazy so I just changed the unbreakable charms to "true" in the save file so I don't have to farm for hours just to make 3 charms unbreakable lol

I always love how Skurry makes up new categories, routes them, and then plays them.

@@illusionist9761 that could actually be interesting, since, for example, resting grounds is closer to kingdom’s edge than Queen’s Gardens. It might be more efficient to give certain characters flowers and then do the mask shard

@@oafmondombeano1477 no, you can give the flower to whoever you want even if its the pale cockroach who gives it to you, the thing is that after you do give it to the mantis child the flower and get the mask shard from the big pale creepy resting grounds thing the queen's garden tomb is the only place you can get flower

@@solamphi @Nathan oh I didn't know it was a regional thing. in North America we do have a candy called Smarties, but they're nothing like m&m's or skittles. they're like small, chalky, pale checker pieces that come in multicolored stacks. they taste like pure artificial flavoring, and i think a chocolate one would be even worse

@@bertramdelux Visit the leg eater once you've obtained all the unbreakable charms. You might only need one but I don't remember. He'll say that he knows where you are and is going to the surface. When you visit divine, he'll have been eaten.

Fun fact: On my second playthrough, I got into an infinite loop on False Knight. I kept staggering him while he was still in his wild swinging attack because I forgot you're supposed to let him finish so he can destroy the ground.

Geo is basically bug shells: it's stated in-game. That is why all bugs drop geo, but creatures like jellyfish and shades don't.

Congratulations on that First try shade skip Skurry, I'm glad that I trust you completely and you would never edit out a failed attempt.
No gathering swarm? I feel like it would definitely be worth it in this case, since you wouldn't have to spend any time picking up geo.
My thoughts exactly. It would have made collecting the Geo so much easier since he could focus on killing the hoppers while the little good boys bring the Geo to him. He'd just have to make sure he waits for the Geo to reach him before going through room transitions.
New viewer here and I gotta say, I really love your content. Skillful gameplay, interesting choice of runs and a very soothing voice/personality have quickly made you one of my favourite content creators.
I'm not even the biggest fan of (watching) Hollow Knight, having only beaten it once shortly after release, but you make it really enjoyable somehow. I especially loved your 'Naming Every Grub' video, as it's just something cute and silly I would've totally done as a kid. I tend to watch your videos before/in bed and I've already fallen asleep to them a few times. Which is great, because I usually have trouble sleeping.
Also, Very interesting music choice for the montage, what a bop. I literally haven't thought about March of the Minis in 5 years. Honest thanks for reminding me it exists, I need to play it again.

I perfer Vore% where your objective is to get all of the Grubs AND Kill Leg Eater (and that means going back and forth between Leg Eater and Divine)

I’m at the point where I just beat the second hornet in the game lmfao and I’m 10 hours in
Same. I did a lot of extra exploring though, got all the grubs, pure nail, did most of Colosseum and even visited the godseekers area

That doesn't say much about how fast you are. I think I was at like over 20 hours before I even found the crystal heart, but by then I had done pretty much everything that you could do with the mantis claw, so everything else went relatively fast. It's been month so I don't remember when I reached 107%, but I don't think I was that slow. My last playthrought was 100% steel soul, it took me about 8 hours.

you just create speedrun categories based on how fun the route is, while getting both interesting content for youtube and numerous world records
As someone who just started playing hollow knight seeing this guy’s ability to get around the map so gracefully is mesmerizing. I wish I knew the controls that well.

Its kinda cool to have a audience to grind with. As a kid there was so many nights alone grinding and grinding. Be it that 1 high exp/gold battle for your lvl range in an rpg, or hoping for a certain item drop. Finally getting it/there and feeling that accomplishment alone. Ppl being there for it definately make the burden more tolorable

1) Sly isn't the only person selling things. Outside the collapse of their civilization, bugs could trade Geo with whomever they meet, not just in a shop in a town.
2) Infected bugs may continue to collect Geo out of habit, as someone is chat said. This can include both on the bodies of people they kill, random cash deposits someone hid, or even pulled from stone walls.
3) If an infected or carnivorous bug killed someone, they probably have a quantity of Geo in their gut. The cash literally spills out of them when killed.
